To think that young people came out in record numbers for one simple reason that most people are missing?

I believe that young people came out in record numbers because they wanted to vote for someone they could trust.

TM like many politicians before her see no problem in going back on her word. She is not alone in this and politicians have been guilty of this from both the right and left side of politics.

Despite your reservations or views on JC it is clear he has not gone back on his word since being elected as the leader of the opposition. He has stood by his word and fought a campaign based on policies he believed in and refused to use dirty smear tactics.

Perhaps people generally are sick of being lied to and electing politicians that seem to showmen/careerists first and representatives of the people second.

  1. Still not true.
  2. Still not true.
  3. Still not true. There are all sorts of reasons for prestige cars, perhaps they've saved up and paid a large deposit, perhaps they're disabled and working. You have no idea, but still you judge.
Dawndonnaagain · 15/06/2017 18:19

Oh, yes and Fuck is a swear word, we're still allowed to use it as and when we see fit. I'm an adult. I have a PhD. I'm a retired lecturer, should I choose to use it, I shall do. Now, fuck off and find out some facts instead of making it up.

Dawndonnaagain · 15/06/2017 18:20

PS. To anyone reading. I miss you Maryz!

PortiaCastis · 15/06/2017 18:25

Jesus I cannot believe some of these disablist posts.
I thank God I came through the dreadful illness I had more or less unscathed but could have been disabled

What nasty bollocks and no evidence.

Dawndonnaagain · 15/06/2017 18:35

Portia, they're brainwashed by the state!
Angry

PortiaCastis · 15/06/2017 18:38

Yes dawndonna agreed
I thank God I'm averse to propoganda

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 15/06/2017 18:40

I do know someone with a 'prestiege' mobility car. Guess what Miss disability is not classist it doesn't fucking discriminate. Unlike you

You can bet your last pound that someone who gets high level disability benefits doesn't just have eczema. They'll have a raft of other problems as well.

And also what everyone else said about disablist language. The fraud rate for disability benefits sits at around 1% - far lower than the % of benefits people leave unclaimed.

BabychamSocialist · 15/06/2017 20:19

Mummy is definitely someone who watched a 'documentary' on Channel 5 and took it as gospel.

See, we can all make sweeping generalisations, can't we?

BabychamSocialist · 15/06/2017 20:20

0.7% actually, and that includes an amount of people who are 'probably' defrauding the system but haven't been picked up on yet.

It really is a tiny amount.

Germany doesn't have 25% unemployment does it

I think we have to consider how the 'euro' has drained wealth from euro countries like Greece to wealthy countries like Germany. It does seem to be wealth distribution from the poor to the rich. I dont get why people think this is a good idea.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 15/06/2017 21:28

Errmm Greece has always been poorer than Germany...

HornyTortoise · 16/06/2017 02:08

Why do you think i posted this?you seem to think im lying for the fun of it? Pretty much yeah. Whatever the reason, your entire post is total bollocks. From Blair bankrupting the country, to 'disability stickers' (wtf?) on prestige cars, to the really high rates of fraud right to disability cars for bad wrists.

chilipepper20 · 16/06/2017 10:19

Errmm Germany doesn't have 25% unemployment does it. Let's compare against other G8 countries until Brexit pushes us out of that

youth unemployment is a good case against the minimum wage.

in the US, youth unemployment and general unemployment didn't diverge until the implementation of the minimum wage.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 16/06/2017 10:38

Causation or correlation? I'd like to see the facts on that

But I guess you just pay people nothing you can employ more? That's kind of a third world model isn't it

chilipepper20 · 16/06/2017 15:03

most people earn above the minimum wage, so everyone's wages falling to 0 wouldn't happen.

There is a reason why the NMW is lower for youth. The "nice" reason is that youth don't have to support a family, so don't need a higher wage. The better reason is that if the two wages were the same, you'd make it harder for younger less skilled and experienced people to find a job (why employ someone with no experience).

chilipepper20 · 16/06/2017 15:09

See this government website

You can google and find an endless list of articles of the effect of minimum wage on youth unemployment.

NoLotteryWinYet · 17/06/2017 12:56

my understanding on corporation tax too is that the uk system has fewer exemptions and is less flexible than in other economies with higher tax sticker prices.

My company operates in east Germany for example and has had a large grant from the local govt for job creation.

I do think someone should be getting into the weeds about why a lot of these 70s style politicians mucking about with controls were abandoned. That's not to say that some market corrections are needed...
