I know she has said she won't but that pretty much means she will if her record is anything to go by! What do you think?

I think we are meant to infer from that comment that Corbyn has some master plan to disrupt the Brexit negotiations; based not on what he has said or done, but on the feeling from the right that he is a rabble rousing anarchist-communist. It doesn't have to make sense, or be based in fact.
Post-truth innit.

'Will', not 'with'

Saw a very interesting man on the news agreeing with Sinn Fein in saying the government would be going against the Good Friday agreement in entering this partnership, be it official or not.

I don't see how. If there is no formal agreement then how is it different to them just voting the same way as the Tory government, which is what they have been doing for many years.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 09/06/2017 22:26

Genuine question. Why is no one asking for Sturgeon to step down? She lost more seats than anyone last night. In fact she lost nearly twice as many as the Tories.

Sostenueto · 09/06/2017 22:27

Can we get this straight. A hung Parliament means NO ONE WON. Yes she is still in no10 got more seats and % of votes but even with DUP she has only a minority government. But the letter to the queen has to get through Parliament and already there could be objections dye to good Friday agreement as previously posted. If her proposals set out in that letter doesn't get past Parliament then it will be back to the polls. May had a terrible campaign and incessantly smirked and grimaced every time she mentioned JC et al. The biased media were beyond condemnation but not once did I hear JC insult or launch a personal attack on any other candidate. May us a disgrace, a female Cameron who wanted full power to put through the Commons the great repeal bill and all her far right austerity policies. This election was never about brexit, just complete power in parliament. It backfired and she deserved it in fact she earned the kick in the teeth. She will be gone by Xmas if not by next week and all JC needs to do with the rest of the opposition parties is find a way of stopping that letter which I hope he finds.

Sostenueto · 09/06/2017 22:29

The Tories lost 30 seats.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 09/06/2017 22:30

He can't. He doesn't have the numbers!

Birdsbeesandtrees · 09/06/2017 22:32

Guardian is reporting Corbyn is to "alternative Queen’s speech to challenge Theresa May’s right to govern"

Can someone explain a bit more ? It it basically him saying "nah you've had it, make me PM instead ?"

I thought it was dealt with ?

Sostenueto · 09/06/2017 22:32

Kensington is now labour for the first time in its history. Well done to the labour party.

QueenLaBeefah · 09/06/2017 22:33

I think there will be another election by October. I just can't see this working.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 09/06/2017 22:33

*The Tories lost 30 seats.

No they didn't. Overall they list 12 as has just been on the news.

They lost some and gained others. Taking one from the other gives you the amount.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 09/06/2017 22:34

*Can someone explain a bit more ? It it basically him saying "nah you've had it, make me PM instead ?"

If she can't get hers through he can try.

It won't happen. He doesn't have the numbers.

Birdsbeesandtrees · 09/06/2017 22:35

I thought that. I'm surprised he would try if he had no chance at all.

Sostenueto · 09/06/2017 22:36

Parliament can disagree to terms in the letter. It can be a legal challenge or a challenge calling for another election on grounds the deal with DUP not in the interests of the electorate.

User843022 · 09/06/2017 22:37

'firing cheap shots at an unwell woman really doesn't reflect well on posters. Far more effective to debate intelligently, rather than use the Tory method of grabbing soundbites.'
Didn't you call TM a 'clusterfuck' earlier? Is it only allegedly unwell people we can't insult, anyone else it's ok?

Sostenueto · 09/06/2017 22:38

Yeah forgot that piglet.

Birdsbeesandtrees · 09/06/2017 22:38

Ugh so what happens if it's a legal challenge ?

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 09/06/2017 22:38

*I thought that. I'm surprised he would try if he had no chance at all.

It's to force her hand

If her government was to collapse he could try to form a minority government. IMO he would be stupid to. It won't last as he would get nothing through. He would them have to call an election as a 'failure'

Birdsbeesandtrees · 09/06/2017 22:40

But surely TM would know thats why he was doing it ?

I'm also of the opinion it might be unwise. I'd rather he gives the tories enough rope ..so to speak.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 09/06/2017 22:45

But surely TM would know thats why he was doing it ?

Of course. It's game playing.

Sostenueto · 09/06/2017 22:50

Getting really interesting isn't it folks!

May won't last long having to fight for everything vote by vote. All JC needs to do is wear her out. Her own backbenchers will do the rest.

malificent7 · 09/06/2017 22:53

Id rather May than Gove or Leadson (shudder)
