I know she has said she won't but that pretty much means she will if her record is anything to go by! What do you think?

OP posts:
Salzundessig · 09/06/2017 09:30

And yes, she will resign before the month is out. Who comes next though? Bojo?

QuiteLikely5 · 09/06/2017 09:31

Well I'm very happy with TM as are all the other people who voted for her. She has won and does have a clear majority.

She isn't going to back down and why on earth should she?

Millions voted for her and the DUP have offered their hand in return for a few benefits (Sky sources) and will allow her to run the country as she previously was

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/06/2017 09:32

She can't resign. We have no time for a leadership contest - while the EU may postpone the start of the talks, the date we leave the EU will not change and it is already an impossibly very tight window to work in.

HS2whattodo · 09/06/2017 09:32

She will be gone. Terrible decision to call the election and an awful campaign with U Turns here there and everywhere and no bottle to face the TV debates. People want a leader and she doesn't lead.

Chillyegg · 09/06/2017 09:32

Quitelikely hmmmmm did TM really win...not really. Shes got a slight majority...but lost seats she had before.
Can i ask why you think its such a bad idea that minimum wage ia increased and education is free? Because the way i see it surely make it actually pay to work and get a degree because at the moment the state system is bolstering the fact that many people cant manage of a minimum wage. Many people work (like myself ) and rely on housing benefit and tax credits. Because mini2wagw just doesnt cut it. And i actually work in a highly skilled sector that is massively under funded due to tory cuts.

leccybill · 09/06/2017 09:33

She isn't going to back down

Judge her on her record....

eddiemairswife · 09/06/2017 09:33

Who would replace her? Please not Boris.

I think it's really good that Jeremy Corbyn appealed to the younger voters, and got them out to the polls. So often we've been told that they don't bother.

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 09/06/2017 09:34

I don't think she really wants to stay tbh

VeryButchyRestingFace · 09/06/2017 09:34

She has to resign, surely? Otherwise what was the point of the election? Hmm

Cameron had his resignation speech written by 4am and after that was in bed catching 40 winks until the electorate were up for him to deliver it. Say what you like about him - and I do - but he didn't fanny about when the writing was on the wall.

It's 09:30. If she has any fucking pride, she'll be gone by 12.

Chillyegg · 09/06/2017 09:35

If we increased minimum wage and offered more opportunities without a massive price tag then surely we would slash our welfare bills.

Iloveyouthismuch · 09/06/2017 09:37

Her bum's oot the windae!

User843022 · 09/06/2017 09:37

'JC a national disgrace? Give over! That's proper twaddle.Even his fiercest critics are giving him the praise he deserves'

He isn't a disgrace, he has proven that despite talking utter nonsense if you have a good campaign you can persuade people to believe anything you want.

TM will resign. She has lost all credibility.

SaucyJack · 09/06/2017 09:38

Never thought I'd be happy to see a smile on George Osborne's face, but yup- she's finished.

gunting · 09/06/2017 09:39

She's said she isn't resigning.... U turn in 3....2....1....

christinarossetti · 09/06/2017 09:39

I can't see how she can stay. She called an unnecessary snap election out of sheer arrogance and self-aggrandising posturing to get a mandate for Brexit.

She got one - a loss of confidence in her party and her leadership. How can she possibly stay now?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/06/2017 09:39

Again, she can't resign even if she wanted to.

VladmirsPoutine · 09/06/2017 09:41

She says she won't resign as we'll be needing "stability" going forward, apparently she also doesn't want the EU to hold up talks.

Irony died this morning Grin

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/06/2017 09:43

apparently she also doesn't want the EU to hold up talks

Because that would be a really bad idea. The date we leave the EU will not change.

Hassled · 09/06/2017 09:43

I just don't see how she can stay. She hasn't got the mandate she wanted, she's lost credibility - and she can't be popular within her own party even. I agree there isn't really time for a leadership contest, but she just can't carry on. She would retain more dignity if she left quickly and quietly soon.

Birdsbeesandtrees · 09/06/2017 09:43

Why can she not resign ?

VladmirsPoutine · 09/06/2017 09:43

I was up all last night following news sources. Apparently Boris has been "sounding out" a few of his colleagues in terms of a leadership run.

Tories are currently briefing that technically TM didn't lose.

I'll say it again: Irony has died. Grin

lessworriedaboutthecat · 09/06/2017 09:44

I think she should resign, she couldn't have one a worse campaign. I have nothing against refusing to take part in the big leaders debate with the pygmy parties but she should have debated JC. The U turn of the dementia tax was stupid it was obviously going to piss off a lot of rich old Tory voters. Either don't put it in the manifesto or defend it on the grounds that given that people are living longer maybe the wealthier members of society need to make a greater contribution to their care. Going back on a manifesto pledge within a day or so does not a strong and stable leader make.

ASDismynormality · 09/06/2017 09:44

She needs to stay for the moment as more uncertainty will cause more market instability. Bet she will try to form a coalition and then quit or be pushed out.

VladmirsPoutine · 09/06/2017 09:45

Because that would be a really bad idea. The date we leave the EU will not change.

That's the point. The EU is ready to talk; it's the UK that has itself tangled and in a mess. Any credibility TM had entering EU talks is now all but decimated.

Birdsbeesandtrees · 09/06/2017 09:45

I cannot cannot see that Boris would run.

He resigned when his Brexit campaign was a success ! He wanted nothing to do with it. Why would he want to be in the firing line now ?
