So sad that he lost his seat. Really liked him.

Mothervulva · 09/06/2017 06:19

Really sad about Nick.

Riversleep · 09/06/2017 06:20

Thats what someone said upthread.

UrsulaPandress · 09/06/2017 06:22

Came looking for this thread to say I too am sorry to see Nick lose his seat.

Always seems like a thoroughly decent bloke. With a lovely wife.

And yy to Strictly.

UrsulaPandress · 09/06/2017 06:22

Vince is in.

Riversleep · 09/06/2017 06:24

No sorry hes back! Yay!

MacarenaFerreiro · 09/06/2017 06:26

Gutted for Nick Clegg. Very decent man and I was hoping he'd be back as Lib Dem leader after the election.

0hCrepe · 09/06/2017 06:27

I feel sorry too. If he'd been labour he would've stayed.

MrsBobDylan · 09/06/2017 06:30

My dh is a civil servant and says that Nick Clegg really is a good and clever man.

I am sad, for him and also because we just seem to be lacking people of his calibre right now (although Vince is mighty!).

Stanstan · 09/06/2017 06:33

I really rate Clegg and am sad for him - there are some results that are just baffling.

Love his wife too ... excellent people

areyoubeingserviced · 09/06/2017 06:34

I was upset that Nick Clegg lost his seat. He is definitely a decent man.
On a purely superficial note, he is very easy on the eye.
I am sure that he will be back

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 09/06/2017 06:37

I hope he does come back. He's great.

TheElementsSong · 09/06/2017 06:38

"stabbed" his brother in the back over the leadership of the LD.

WHAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTT??????

Oh dear oh dear.

VintagePerfumista · 09/06/2017 06:40

Faustian Nick gone.

That's what comes of selling your soul I guess. People remember.

He may be a "good man" at heart, but he will go down in history as single-handedly destroying his party for generations. For his own 15 minutes of fame. Unfortunately, his pact with the devil will not be remembered in history as putting the stoppers on the worst of the Tories excesses, but in giving them the power to put them into place at all.

Best result of the night.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 09/06/2017 06:40

How can anyone mix up Nick Clegg and Ed Miliband?

TheElementsSong · 09/06/2017 06:42

How can anyone mix up Nick Clegg and Ed Miliband?

Do you think the poster will come back and admit they were wrong? Grin

hahahaIdontgetit · 09/06/2017 06:43

Nick Clegg was an excellent MP, he will be missed in the local area.

InvisibleKittenAttack · 09/06/2017 06:44

I'm sad he's gone - if he'd stayed on a LibDem leader we might have more LibDems now, he was a fabulous politician and of course he couldn't get everything through in coalition.

Hope he'll come back, politics needs someone like him.

OddBoots · 09/06/2017 06:44

I'm sad to see him lose his seat too.

I always see him as the good fairy in sleeping beauty - the Conservatives cursed us with large tuition fees which, the Lib Dems didn't have enough power to completely overturn the curse, they could only downgrade it by putting in clauses so it is only paid in the form of a graduate tax.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 09/06/2017 06:45

I doubt it. Probably hung their head in shame Grin

Lexilooo · 09/06/2017 06:50

Like the sleeping beauty analogy!

I'm sad about Nick an the lib dems generally I though a more influential third party was good for British politics and I am sad we have gone backwards. I hate the criticism they get over the coalition, of course he couldn't deliver all of their manifesto when some points conflicted directly with the larger party - people are so unrealistic

Clarabella8 · 09/06/2017 07:02

Good ; tuition fees. The young voters will not trust him , why would they ?

KERALA1 · 09/06/2017 07:05

Shame think he is great. Young though so hopefully he will be back

GraceGrape · 09/06/2017 07:09

I don't think he'll be short of offers. He used to work in trade negotiation for the EU. I think we might be short of a few of of those.

BarbarianMum · 09/06/2017 07:10

I genuinely don't get this "Lib Dems lied about tuition fees" thing. They didn't win the fucking election, so of course they weren't going to get to deliver their entire manifesto. They did save us from undiluted Tory rule though - the only things that government did that i liked were Lib Dem in origin.

n0ne · 09/06/2017 07:15

Yay for Vince! But gutted about Nick, yes. He'll be back, though. I know it's utter UTTER fantasy, but I'd love him for PM one day Wink
