Hung means hung.
By the balls with any luck.

DakotaFanny · 08/06/2017 22:38

So in theory, could Labour form a coalition which actually makes them bigger than the Conservatives and so become the leaders?

QuizteamBleakley · 08/06/2017 22:39

@thenorthernluce - do they literally just ask "Hello, who did you vote for?"

123rd · 08/06/2017 22:40

Me nor DH have NEVER been asked at exit... Who are they asking?????

chinlop · 08/06/2017 22:40

If the exit polls are fairly accurate, labour plus lib dems would not be able to form a majority. Nor would the two of them + SNP

CaptainMarvelDanvers · 08/06/2017 22:40

Even if the Conservatives do form a coalition government, do you think Theresa May is toast?

mirime · 08/06/2017 22:40

After the kicking the Lib Dems got who would want to be in a coalition with the Tories?

Personally though I think more coalitions would probably be a good thing. It would shake things up a bit especially if we had PR as well instead of FPTP.

chinlop · 08/06/2017 22:41

They ask people as they leave the polling station. But they have a very precise methodology of who to ask and where. It's a real science.

The independent published a useful article on it today:

www.independent.co.uk/News/uk/politics/exit-polls-election-results-come-out-uk-what-are-they-how-work-explained-a7779821.html

BorrowLove · 08/06/2017 22:41

@DakotaFanny Yes. If they got every single other party onboard I think they could. Cymru 3, Green 1, Others 18 plus Labour, plus Lib dems would be more than the conservative total.

DakotaFanny · 08/06/2017 22:41

Treseme can't survive this, surely.

InDubiousBattle · 08/06/2017 22:41

What the fuck? Wales and Scotland gains for conservatives?

QuiteUnfitBit · 08/06/2017 22:42

Worst possible result. Hope it doesn't come true. There'll be another election within six months. God knows what will happen with Brexit negotiations. If only Corbyn wasn't Labour leader. Anyone else, and Labour would have won. TM will stand down, and it'll be Boris... doesn't bear thinking about.

chinlop · 08/06/2017 22:42

100%

DakotaFanny · 08/06/2017 22:42

Thanks Borrow Corbin was pretty clear on "no deals" wasn't he...so interesting times ahead!

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 08/06/2017 22:43

Marmite27 This isn't a criticism,, its just a question, but why did you lie at the exit poll?

Dogsmom · 08/06/2017 22:43

Although I voted Tory I would much rather it be an outright majority even if it's Labour, dealing with Brexit is going to be challenging enough without having to satisfy 2 parties.

DakotaFanny · 08/06/2017 22:43

Gah! corbyn

BorrowLove · 08/06/2017 22:43

Anyone else, and Labour would have won I would not have voted for my Labour candidate, she is so untruthful - she isn't even sure where she grew up in.

(Until I moved here I voted Labour, I cannot and will not vote for her when she can't be honest about basic things like where she spent her childhood).

chinlop · 08/06/2017 22:43

Yes. If they got every single other party onboard I think they could. Cymru 3, Green 1, Others 18 plus Labour, plus Lib dems would be more than the conservative total

Right. And the chance of this happening is basically zero.

The80sweregreat · 08/06/2017 22:43

If wales and scot go tory then it means england have rejected them?
So complicated.
Not good for the UK at all.

seoulsurvivor · 08/06/2017 22:43

battle a lot of Scottish people are voting Conservative as a protest vote against a second independence referendum.

Also, you can't help but love Ruth Davidson. She's a great politician and very to the centre policy-wise.

BorrowLove · 08/06/2017 22:43

@chinlop - it was in response to another poster.

CaptainMarvelDanvers · 08/06/2017 22:43

Surely a coalition government is more democratic because more people have representation with an actual voice in government?

RedToothBrush · 08/06/2017 22:44

76 Seats too close to call.
