Sorry if there's already a thread about her latest cringeworthy interview but I couldn't find one... here she was on sky new last night, clearly having failed to read the police report she was there to discuss:

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.thesun.co.uk/news/3731086/shadow-home-secretary-diane-abbott-car-crash-interview-sky-police-security-london-bridge-attacks-terror/amp/

I like corbyn and what he stands for, but I can't give him my vote with these buffoons around him!

if it was just abbott then I would tend to agree. it isn't.

Corbyn used to be a joke. a wolfie smith back bencher who could always be relied upon to do something controversial - the next dennis skinner.

its not me who decides who is and isn't welcome on MN. its just amazing how some party workers are so caught up in it all that they cant see that we can all spot them.

I don't work for a party and have never been a member of one, ever. I did used to be a shop steward and regional steward for NALGO. that's how come I worked with Corbyn and that's why I wont vote for him.

but fortunate for me as I am away on Thursday my vote has already been cast.

Halle71 · 06/06/2017 16:31

I do not vote labour and obviously don't want labour to win, but that interview frightened the shit out of me should they win.

All things being equal, that woman, who completely screwed up what should have been a relatively straightforward, yet emotive interview in line with the London Bridge situation, could be in charge of national security come Friday. I could have answered more convincingly than her without reading the report.

And as for PM who is the ex VP of CND....
I obviously don't want nuclear war before anyone jumps down my throat, but it certainly explains why he couldn't answer the Trident question on Question Time.

Danda does a lot of good work for charidee

Dandandandandandandan · 06/06/2017 16:44

Mock away, anonymous user. Mock away.

Ski4130 · 06/06/2017 16:51

Absolutely. My husband would vote Labour but won't because of Diane Abbot. She's done the party no favours at all. She's made me question my vote several times.

Believeitornot · 06/06/2017 16:53

Show me a country where neoliberal policies have worked without massively disadvantaging swathes of the population. I would be interesting in examples

Can someone please answer me, which country has used neoliberal economic policies which have worked?

RangeTesKopeks · 06/06/2017 17:04

Dandandan what do you mean by 'covfefe' in your post?

When Donald Trump wrote the word 'covfefe' in his tweet where he mentioned the 'negative press "covfefe"', it was a typo for 'negative press "coverage"'.

NoLotteryWinYet · 06/06/2017 17:07

we need to be a bit more specific about what you mean by neoliberal policies in particular and what the alternative is? Free trade has benefited china - I believe that economic growth has lifted a lot of Chinese people out of poverty for example.

Dandandandandandandan · 06/06/2017 17:08

I was just referring to that and his attempts to manipulate the media/need to be media savvy, range.

littlehandcuffs · 06/06/2017 17:09

I can't seem to link to it. Has it been taken down?

waitforitfdear · 06/06/2017 17:09

I do charity work too and can do basic maths. Labours plans don't add up. I also gave up hero worshipping men aged 14 when I fell out of love with Donny Osmond.

Some women On here seem to hero worship Corbyn it's totally baffling

7461Mary18 · 06/06/2017 17:11

It's a choice between socialism or democracy and nothing to do with neoliberal principles. May is very much in the centre, unfortunately which is probably why she is likely to win.

If DA is home secretary on Friday we not worry too much - the country tends to be run by civil servants anyway.

AppleBlossomTimeNow · 06/06/2017 17:12

She's obviously not herself - probably ill or struggling with something. She should probably resign but mocking and shaming the poor woman seems really cruel. She's served this country as an MP for years, and has suffered racist, sexist attacks by the media throughout her career. Show some compassion, whatever your political leanings.

Bejazzled · 06/06/2017 17:18

She's the Shadow Home Secretary not the secretary of the PTA! Excuses, excuses. I didn't hear all this justification for May with her actually diagnosed Type 1 Diabetes, double standards at play here.

And pulling out of interviews... I'm sure May was also pilloried for that too. Maybe she had another migraine 🙄
last minute cancellation

waitforitfdear · 06/06/2017 17:20

Compassion why? No idea what's wrong she could be just pissed. You have no idea she's seriously ill and if she is then she should know she should step down.

And stop with the heads and flowers crap Dianne had said many racist and nasty comments over the years she's not bloody mother Theresa

Bejazzled · 06/06/2017 17:22

Unwell my arse. Weak and wobbly woman more like.

To think people who would otherwise vote for corbyn may not because of Diane Abbott?
makeourfuture · 06/06/2017 17:22

I do charity work too and can do basic maths. Labours plans don't add up.

The Tories are right now running up historic levels of debt. Labour's manifesto is solid. It plans for growth, Brexit and a more sensible tax structure.

Saucery · 06/06/2017 17:23

I don't want a Home Secretary who is 'obviously not herself '.

Dandandandandandandan · 06/06/2017 17:26

How does it do that, make?

makeourfuture · 06/06/2017 17:27

The current Home Secretary is not up to the job. Tories keep cutting resources. Right when we need them.

Saucery · 06/06/2017 17:29

Still not actively voting to swap Rudd for Abbott, make. Swapping one person not up to the job for another is not going to get us where we need to be.

Believeitornot · 06/06/2017 17:30

Labours plans don't add up. I also gave up hero worshipping men aged 14 when I fell out of love with Donny Osmond

Neither do the Tories. 7p for a child's school breakfast Hmm

As for not turning up for debates, i would like to remind people that Theresa May sent Amber Rudd to the leaders debates. Amber Rudd's father had died two days previously. How lovely.

t's a choice between socialism or democracy and nothing to do with neoliberal principles

^That is quite clear bollocks.

waitforitfdear · 06/06/2017 17:31

make

How much will it cost to renationalise all those industries you think? Wasn't costed.

Oh I forgot you don't answer questions do you

waitforitfdear · 06/06/2017 17:33

I don't image Amber needed persuasion.

She's a professional whose across her brief.

Unlike poor old Di

makeourfuture · 06/06/2017 17:34

How much will it cost to renationalise all those industries you think?

These are viable industries we are talking about, not money pits. Why give the profits to shady operators bent on extracting as much as they can from the system?

See Stagecoach.
