To think Ariana Grande is fucking amazing for doing this concert

Whatever the reason the Manchester bomber chose her concert to commit his atrocity must play on her mind so it takes some serious balls to come out and do this.

I've never heard of any of her songs though!

Lou I've been stamping on that thought for the last hour.

NormaSmuff · 04/06/2017 22:14

It was amazing to get so many names with such short notice , quite emotional

RestlessTraveller · 04/06/2017 22:15

The reality is that she has had little to do with the organisation, her manager Scooter Braun has done all the hard work, but she does have the pulling power of some very famous mates.

I actually don't think she that talented as a singer, and tonight she's warbled way too much and had to be carried by other artists and the audience.

HOWEVER, none of this detracts from the fact that tonight was exactly what was needed.

NormaSmuff · 04/06/2017 22:15

After she finished I just hoped she had someone backstage to give her a hug

LittleLionMansMummy · 04/06/2017 22:17

I had no opinion of her before but totally respect her now. She's very young and must have felt a huge amount of responsibility for what happened, no matter how misplaced that sense of responsibility was.

Topseyt · 04/06/2017 22:17

I hadn't heard of her before the attack in Manchester, but now I think she is fabulous. What a lovely concert to bring together and raise shed loads of money for the victims.

Of course it won't have done her career any harm, but I don't see why that is even an issue. It was the perfect response and a force for good.

There are some seriously miserable fuckers on this thread. I take it they held the same opinions of Band Aid, Sport Aid etc. when they came together to raise money for charities.

ComingUpTrumps · 04/06/2017 22:17

I think she's a fantastic singer. (Did anyone watch a Saturday Night Live sketch she did a couple of years ago, where she imitated loads of famous singers?) And she's done so so well tonight. Well done Ariana Flowers

RestlessTraveller · 04/06/2017 22:18

The question of the night though is 'where the fuck was Noel?'

Waltermittythesequel · 04/06/2017 22:22

Some of you are utter, utter cunts.

You pride yourselves on being "cynical" or "realists" but you're attention seeking twats refusing to just leave one fucking thread free of your nasty, self-congratulatory "truth".

This place is sickening sometimes.

sonjadog · 04/06/2017 22:25

I was deeply impressed that she could walk around in those boots.

Purplemac · 04/06/2017 22:25

After she finished I just hoped she had someone backstage to give her a hug

Mac Miller, the rapper she performed with, is her boyfriend. Not really a fan of Arianna's music but their performances together we're, as the youngsters would say, "relationship goals".

Bearbehind · 04/06/2017 22:26

Me too sonja

I kept saying how I'd be on my arse just trying to do those boots up!

The 'warbling' was clearly emotion- she was fighting back tears. It was incredibly brave to come back so soon, I'm not sure I could. Ariana is a wonderful young woman and a fantastic role model.

Waltermittythesequel · 04/06/2017 22:27

I was disappointed that Noel didn't show.

Would have been a nice time for them to set aside their differences.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 04/06/2017 22:28

I thought he was committed to performing somewhere else and released a statement saying he would have loved to be there? Not sure where I heard that though so could be wrong.

Bearbehind · 04/06/2017 22:29

rainbow your comments have absolutely disgusted me and I'm intrigued to hear what you think would have been a better course of action?

Critising is all well and good but can you come up with anything better?

She was fucking amazing! I think she's handled things brilliantly.

I honestly do not know how she managed to hold it together so brilliantly all night. I cried pretty much all the way through, and then Ariana started singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and my tears were totally uncontrollable. I can't handle that song at the best of times, but with the meaning of tonight's concert, it was incredibly emotional and poignant.

Icantstopeatinglol · 04/06/2017 22:32

I've never been too bothered by her to be honest but she was brilliant tonight! As where all the other singers. I couldn't give two shits if people think it's for ulterior motives cos it's exactly what people needed. She's a 23yr old girl and to come straight back and face what happened to me speaks volumes. If you think otherwise then maybe you need to think about your own mentality.

GirlOnATrainToShite · 04/06/2017 22:33

I was thinking it was a shame Noel didn't show up - BUT it would have made the concert all about that Confused

RebelandaStunner · 04/06/2017 22:33

Yanbu. Strong and mature young woman.

MissEliza · 04/06/2017 22:33

Omg wasn't that Noel?! Blush

Topseyt · 04/06/2017 22:34

I was agog at the boots, although they were stylish.

I'm another who would have spent more time on my arse than standing up if I had tried to wear heels like that. Grin

Bearbehind · 04/06/2017 22:34

That was Liam!

Amazing young woman. I hadn't heard a great deal about her. Up until very recently I thought she was the one with a big bum who sang about a snake Blush then I realised I watch her daily on victorious.

Massive respect for her.

Trying to Ignore any negativity. Tonight has been touching. It has been a good reminder of the love and good still in this world. I don't want anyone to spoil that tonight. Let us have a moment where we can just get together and be positive please.
