To think Ariana Grande is fucking amazing for doing this concert

Whatever the reason the Manchester bomber chose her concert to commit his atrocity must play on her mind so it takes some serious balls to come out and do this.

I've never heard of any of her songs though!

If you can't handle opposing opinion perhaps it is you who should fuck off the internet.

Come on then, back up your nasty opinion. What evidence do you have that she is just doing this for publicity?

BeyondTheReasons · 04/06/2017 21:32

I liked her in the tv show Scream Queens though, she played her part well and was actually funny.

Bearbehind · 04/06/2017 21:32

And what exactly is your opinion rainbow?

If you are critising someone for having the balls to do this I think you need to have a long hard look in the mirror.

I think she's brave for returning to the site of the atrocity and giving a concert and I think it was the right thing to do. Good for her

MissBax · 04/06/2017 21:33

YANBU ♥

Milktraylover · 04/06/2017 21:33

I think she has done brilliantly and all the artists have been fantastic. Very emotional. What a sad way to look at something so lovely jack. I think they have all been genuine and at times some of them have really struggled to see their sets through but they have all put on a bloody good show. Such a positive stand.

NoncommittalToSparkleMotion · 04/06/2017 21:33

Yanbu.

I didn't know much about her until recently, and I think she's pretty incredible. She was very charitable and socially aware before, but to get back up from such a terrible event and perform again so soon takes some serious courage.

DoomGloomAndKaboom · 04/06/2017 21:34

Hassled: And yes, I think she is fucking amazing for doing this - a young woman who has grown up in a TV child start bubble, who must have had the fright of her life but has responded with so much strength and kindness.

Totally agree. She must be terrified up there. Still she's doing it and bloody hell she can sing. you might think she's a record company puppet but to have the strength to do this says to me she has the strength to say no if she didn't want to do it.

I think young people do get exploited by record companies and anyone on stage knows they'll sell a few songs from this, but I think ultimately they're all there to show terrorists they won't win and where they try to put terror, love and celebration has grown instead.

Terror 0 Ariana 1

TwentyCups · 04/06/2017 21:34

Agreed.

I honestly thought she would never perform again, I'm so glad I was wrong. What a strong woman.

PotteringAlong · 04/06/2017 21:34

She's travelling over an hour from Manchester tomorrow to visit two girls in a hospital, purely because they couldn't make it to tonight's concert. Very hush, no publicity.

Although you know. And you've announced it on mumsnet. So it's not that hush hush.

GirlOnATrainToShite · 04/06/2017 21:35

I find it all a little self righteous tbh.

Want2bSupermum · 04/06/2017 21:35

I saw her a lot in and around bars here in New York about 5-7 years ago. She was really young, couldn't have been more than 18. Her voice is amazing and her current music doesn't display her talent at all. She has talent on the Mariah Carey scale minus the diva ego.

When she did a Christmas performance at Rockefeller center she started to sing and everyone stopped. Her and Kelly Clarkson were the only two who could sing. Her music isn't to my taste but she always seemed nice.

JacquesHammer · 04/06/2017 21:35

It takes a special kind of bitter to want to try and find the negatives in an event like tonight.

The music isn't my scene at all and I think they've all done a smashing job. Worth it for that school choir alone.

Bearbehind · 04/06/2017 21:37

I honestly thought she would never perform again, I'm so glad I was wrong.

Me too. That's proper head twisting stuff to wonder why it was her concert but she's done exactly the right thing- not sure how many others would have had her courage though.

Bloody fantastic.

OP posts:
NoLoveofMine · 04/06/2017 21:38

I haven't been watching it as I'm not into any of the artists I was aware of performing (though think it's fantastic it's happening); sort of wish I had been now as I'm feeling quite upset about yesterday's attack (nothing compared to anyone caught up in it or with a connection to anyone who was of course, just is saddening).

Runny · 04/06/2017 21:38

Compared with most of the young female pop singers of today, she's fairly low key. I couldn't really tell you anything about her personal life, because it's not plastered all over the sidebar of shame like certain other people I can think of.

Oblomov17 · 04/06/2017 21:39

Could someone explain what happened Re the tickets forthis concert? I heard on the news that some people who attended Manchester couldn't actually get tickets for tonight. That seems odd. How did that happen?

Bearbehind · 04/06/2017 21:39

I find it all a little self righteous tbh.

There are some seriously vile people in this world.

What on earth is self righteous about a young woman literally risking her life to show defiance?

Yep.

minionsrule · 04/06/2017 21:42

I have been watching tonight and she is visibly emotional. Anyone saying publicity should just f off tbh, what are you doing for the victims?
I am not a fan but have seen her for years on Nick.
Oh and i hope Piers Morgan issues a public apology to her as well..... arsehole that he is

Bearbehind · 04/06/2017 21:43

Omfg- have they got Oasis back together?

OP posts:
youarenotkiddingme · 04/06/2017 21:43

Whoever is pulling her strings etc I don't think it's unreasonable to ask people to remember she's as much a victim as everyone else there that fateful night.

People paid ££££'s to come and watch her concert and 22 people lost their lives.

That will have an effect on her and you can see the emotion in her eyes.

iseenodust · 04/06/2017 21:44

We've been watching it and I think it's been great. A great example set to our DC about facing your fears.

So those of you who've never heard of her, were never subjected to Victorious then?! Lucky you!

Hueandcry · 04/06/2017 21:45

I think it's amazing what she has pulled together & in this instance especially, if you can't say anything nice butt out & say nothing at all
