I find it smug.
What words get on your tits nerves?

The phrase some posters use on here, 'getting intimate'. I imagine the people who use it can't say the word sex out loud.

Gifted - as in I was given something
Sourced - no = you went out and bought it
Tropical/coastal/tribal/ whatever vibe - you've got wallpaper with a nice pattern - it's not a vibe.

Oh gosh and i justcrealised i want to rock in a corner when i hear "shut the front door" used as an exclamation.

I have an irrational hatred of the word 'vestibule'. Don't know why, but it makes me shudder.

I also hate 'holibobs'.

Willowtree7 I don't quite understand your last one. 'Shut the front door!' is an order, and orders have to be exclaimed, hence the exclamation mark.

In reference to a PP I hate the word 'pudding' - it's a dessert! Have never been offered a 'pudding' menu in a restaurant!

'Chavvy'. As in the post about 'chavvy abbreviations' above. I don't like those abbreviations either, but 'chavvy' is such a horrible snobbish word.

I have a completely irrational hatred of the German word 'Zettel'. It's an entirely innocent word meaning a bit or slip of paper and I live in Germany, with a German dh, so it comes up a lot. But I hate it

I too hate 'blessed'. I have a few American Facebook friends who seem to constantly feel blessed and thank God for their blessed lives, rather than acknowledging their own hard work.

Also 'fun' as an aesthetic descriptor : 'a fun skirt', 'a fun print'.
