Blessed, as in, feeling blessed. Just gets my goat. Not sure why, think
I find it smug.

  • Proud Momma
  • Making memories (which, translated, means 'making every mom who has just fed their kids turkey twizzlers after a day in front of the tv feel even more inadequate)
  • anytime people use the wrong they're, there or their.
  • anytime some uses 'his' instead of 'he's'.
EastMidsMummy · 04/06/2017 10:55

DH, DM, DS and all their other DB (darling bollocks) on here.

Zoflorabore · 04/06/2017 10:58

Another one I hate- discharge, yuck

EastMidsMummy · 04/06/2017 10:58

And pots, spuds or tatties.

Jim-jams or PJs.

DTD.

"Rolling their eyes."

RedLemonade · 04/06/2017 11:04

So many of these.

Also "plate of food"- "we just went into town for a plate of food."

Granted nowadays the food could come on a slate, block of wood, shovel (Hmm), but can't you just say "meal" dammit!

Also using overuse of "my"- "well I had my bowl of muesli for breakfast, and then I went for my walk". Oh just sod off with your smug possessive pronoun.

'Why' instead of 'while' (e.g. Going to watch BGT why hubs baths the bubs #blessed #teamhubs #vinotime

I also hate Vino for wine.

Babypassport · 04/06/2017 12:43

Rant over

Babypassport · 04/06/2017 12:46

And kind of loosely related, people who always post news headlines on their fb or Twitter as if they are selflessly shouldering the responsibility for disseminating the news. Pricks

#blessed is rank. It reminds me of 'blessers' - a really unbelievably creepy phenomenon in South Africa - older men buying young girls expensive gifts in return for sex. Pictures of the gifts are then posted on social media with the hashtag 'blessed'.

jamie2 · 04/06/2017 13:07

blessed
feeling very spoilt

Agree with the op. I hate both of the above

PyongyangKipperbang · 04/06/2017 13:26

MarilynWhirlwindRocks

He was a complete cunt anyway. Kept posting about what a bitch his ex is and how she was keeping him away from his DD and he would fight and fight to see her and how he was the better parent. He mentioned it when we saw him once and I had a hunch.......Wink

I asked if he had suggested mediation or seen a solicitor or even tried to talk to his ex. He said that he hadnt as there was no point as she would still not let him see his DD. I said that a court would award him contact if there were no issues and he said that he could commit to every other weekend as he was busy getting pissed so what was the point. He didnt see why he couldnt just see her when it suited him.

Father of the year then....and no he didnt pay maintenance. Add ickle gurl on to that and blocking was the only option!

PyongyangKipperbang · 04/06/2017 13:27

said he couldnt commit to EOW

ladasha · 04/06/2017 13:31

I don't mind the DH, DC etc abbreviations, but I've never understood why they're used in negative posts. For example, "DH came home fuming, said I was an entitled CU Next Tuesday. Then DMIL, who's a narcissist, stole my children while DSIL just did cats bum face" etc.

Isn't the D a short form for Darling? Why are they darlings if they're being awful? Or am I missing the sarcasm?!

BalloonDinosaur · 04/06/2017 13:38

Now I really want spag bol Blush

C word doesn't bother me, used to have a manager who used it liberally and I became immune to it.

I loathe nom, makes me cringe
Booby/boobies/boobing though not boob, weirdly
Adults referring to their parents as 'mummy and daddy'
Amazeballs

ChildishGambino · 04/06/2017 13:39

Portion! Or, worse, moist portion. Ugh

Trickycat · 04/06/2017 13:45

Fabby.

Makes me feel stabby.

PicaPauAmarelo · 04/06/2017 14:56

Stabby is annoying - what's next? murdery, shooty, rapey? Hmm

ForalltheSaints · 04/06/2017 15:01

zukiecat · 04/06/2017 15:20

As a Pagan though I say "Blessed Be" a lot, very common form of greeting and pronounced Bless-ed Be"
