to try to help Europol with child abuse cases?

Europol are asking people to review 20 images of everyday objects to try to get a lead in child abuse investigations. If they can work out the manufacturer or even just the country where something is sold it could be the break they need to track down the perpetrator and rescue the child(ren) at risk.

Please could everyone take a few minutes to look and see if you recognise any of the items? They include things like the logo on a child's pyjamas and a toilettry bottle. There are no children in the images.

As there are Mumsnetters all of the world and many will have children I hoped there was a chance at least that someone would recognise one of the objects.

Hopefully the hive mind of Mumsnet may be able to help them narrow down the country of origin of the objects.

More info here.

Thank you Flowers

The Tatty Teddy swimsuit is from Asda and was sold Spring /Summer of 2013 - I know because I've just found a photo of my dd wearing it on holiday. She loved it and it's been passed down and worn endlessly. Can't seem to report from my phone so will try later on the laptop.

Is the carrier bag not a 'heron foods' one? Awful awful awful that this sort of thing needs to happen to track down these people 😔

PeppaPigTastesLikeBacon · 02/06/2017 09:29

I don't recognise anything (although one picture looks a bit like an old box camera but couldn't find similar when googling)

OP, do you know if this stuff changes/gets updated. Is it worth keeping an eye on the website or is it a kind of one off thing?

The black one? I thought a camera box too bur reddit have a really long thread on it with people trying to identify (quite a few they've found and submitted) the stuff, last time I looked apparently the thinking was it might be an old CPAP machine from the early 90s but were unsure on brand (thought would just share in case it jogs anyone's memory)

SleepFreeZone · 02/06/2017 09:56

DJBaggy well done for that

Frankie89 · 02/06/2017 10:59

I recognised a couple of things, including the cigarettes. Have passed the link to some family members who are pro runners and might recognise that t shirt.

This is so sad but such a good idea. Thousands of eyes on these things will surely help.

This is a great thread, the more people who can share the page with international friends & family the better. I've worked in this field many years and it's unbelievable how the smallest detail can bring down a ring or find a victim. Please keep sharing & reporting

witwootoodleoo · 03/06/2017 12:26

Thanks to everyone that's looked so far. Impressed by how specific PP have been able to be about the swimsuit. Fingers crossed it helps
