to try to help Europol with child abuse cases?

witwootoodleoo · 01/06/2017 08:25

Europol are asking people to review 20 images of everyday objects to try to get a lead in child abuse investigations. If they can work out the manufacturer or even just the country where something is sold it could be the break they need to track down the perpetrator and rescue the child(ren) at risk.

Please could everyone take a few minutes to look and see if you recognise any of the items? They include things like the logo on a child's pyjamas and a toilettry bottle. There are no children in the images.

As there are Mumsnetters all of the world and many will have children I hoped there was a chance at least that someone would recognise one of the objects.

Hopefully the hive mind of Mumsnet may be able to help them narrow down the country of origin of the objects.

More info here.

Thank you Flowers

Didn't recognise anything beyond the tatty teddy but I hope they get enough info to act fast, those poor children 😢

Unicorn81 · 01/06/2017 21:05

Did a tatty teddy google and its a swimming suit sold by asda, feel sick but glad if it helps

SailAwayWithMeHoney · 01/06/2017 21:06

Recognise the tatty teddy feet and what looks like a Tesco carrier but am no sure. Phone is playing up but will pass Info on soon as phone decides to cooperate.

SailAwayWithMeHoney · 01/06/2017 21:11

Done 👍🏻

londonmummy1966 · 01/06/2017 21:27

Well done for posting OP
I know I have seen the cat in the police helmet on what looks like a pink tshirt somewhere but can't remember where. To those saying the bag can't be Tesco's as the letters are RON I think that the bag with RON and the Tesco looking bag may be different bags from the way one is folded over the other.
Would help if the picture of the white t shirt was flipped as the text reads I AM something

MadeForThis · 01/06/2017 21:28

Fantastic idea. Thanks for linking. Would be wonderful if mumsnet could set something up on a regular basis.

Bunnyhipsdontliegrl · 01/06/2017 21:36

Oh Lord, this is sickening.. It makes me realise my little problems don't matter. And there are some really brave people choosing a carreer that involve looking at those pictures everyday..

I wish I could recognize anything but I can't I want to bump this though

Cakescakescakes · 01/06/2017 21:37

What a fantastic idea. I hope mumsnet can throw up some info.

TakeMe2Insanity · 01/06/2017 21:41

I didn't recognise anything.

Nonibaloni · 01/06/2017 21:43

Things like this are so important. I couldn't help but shared on fb.

Keep sharing everywhere.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 01/06/2017 22:18

It's probably the most harrowing thing I have seen for a while and I almost wish I hadn't Sad

tinatsarina · 01/06/2017 22:23

I recognised the Tesco bag beside the other and tatty teddy I think the yellow bag may be quavers if its a crisp bag or roast beef monster munch?

TheLambShankRedemption · 01/06/2017 22:26

londonmummy1966

Looks like 'I am a runner' and 'all it takes' on that t-shirt.

Bubblesagain · 01/06/2017 22:31

Would help if the picture of the white t shirt was flipped as the text reads I AM something
I think It says I am a runner

InflagranteDelicto · 02/06/2017 03:30

Shared on my Facebook. Quite harrowing, especially the TT one.

MrsTerryPratchett · 02/06/2017 03:46

I had a look. No use to anyone but I think it's a great idea.

Spare a thought for the poor police officers who have to do this job. My friend did it and it messed it up terribly.

SailAwayWithMeHoney · 02/06/2017 07:02

Just bumping this up

isthistoonosy · 02/06/2017 07:14

Great thread, bumping
Think I know one of the places so will send some info.

DubiousCredentials · 02/06/2017 07:25

The RON on the carrier bag is part of the word "STRONG" surely isn't it?

DubiousCredentials · 02/06/2017 07:25

I'd say it's definitely a Tesco carrier.

OnTheRise · 02/06/2017 08:19

There are two tesco carrier bags there. One with pictures on, and one with something about how their clear carrier bags are just as strong as the old ones. I remember them, and have one or two here.

I bet others have already reported those, but have just done so. This is such a good initiative. I hope they track down the people who have committed the crimes.

saffronwblue · 02/06/2017 08:21

bump

Pouffealouffe · 02/06/2017 08:38

The second image looks like shoes to me, rather than a toy like they suggest. I can see the Tesco bag a bit more now - wasn't convinced at first.

DJBaggySmalls · 02/06/2017 08:40

The logo on the sports (rugby?) shirt looks like a ram, but I havent been able to find it online. It looks quite dated.
