The media are after him . So surely he is a threat or the tabloids wdnt bother . But we can't believe what the machines of the popular press tell us to ???
I'm curious why he appears unpopular ?
He appears principled to me . ...

OP posts:
WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 29/05/2017 16:58

Because he's a liability.

ItsNeverSunnyInWales · 29/05/2017 16:59

Stupid reasons.

Why don't people like Corbin ?
Blaaaaaaaah · 29/05/2017 17:00

Amazing....exactly the same thread was started a few weeks ago with the same misspelling. New username though eh? How are things going at Momentum headquarters?

Awescapism · 29/05/2017 17:00

Antisemitism.

TheNaze73 · 29/05/2017 17:01

Because he's a self serving charlatan who's never had a proper job

Dogsmom · 29/05/2017 17:01

I don't dislike him, more indifferent to him, he's rather bland and grey like John Major was, they both come across a bit wet.
I imagine him shrugging and yawning a lot.

shinyredbus · 29/05/2017 17:02

Because he is totally useless and absurd as a leader. Don't get me started on his policies. He is trying to drag Britain back 10, 20 years. Trying to promise copious amounts of money to everyone (NHS, Police Force) - but no idea where he will get the money from. His links to the IRA, a terrorist organisation. Just appalling!

NoArmaniNoPunani · 29/05/2017 17:02

I like him. Theresa May was involved with selling arms to Saudi Arabia, who give weapons to Isis and no one comments on her terrorist links

teapotter · 29/05/2017 17:02

Because he was utterly useless in the brexit campaign. Therefore I don't think he can be trusted to negotiate a good deal for brexit. Brexit will only happen once and we need a good team in place who understand trade etc. Nice man but wrong time.

pipsqueak25 · 29/05/2017 17:02

there isn't much hope for labour if corbyn is the best they could muster up

mummymeister · 29/05/2017 17:07

I worked with him in London. I didn't like him then, I don't like him now.

he was not open to discussion or opinion. it was his view or no view. he was completely dogmatic.

he shared a platform on many occasions with terrorists. not in the interests of peace but because he believes in armed struggle.

he isn't principled. not at all. I heard him speak on numerous occasion vehemently anti EU so what changed eh Jezza?

he anti Semitism and his failure to stamp it out in his party is little short of disgraceful.

he isn't a harmless little old man. he is a 70's throwback with all that that means.

the swing to Labour has me with my head in my hands. Free unicorns for everyone and "someone else" pays for it.

I actually don't care what the press say about him or what they print because I have formed my own view first hand and he is really really distasteful.

ChinaRose · 29/05/2017 17:08

Because he is a communist in (bad) disguise.

YellowPrimula · 29/05/2017 17:09

Hes a bit dim and not up to the job of prime minister intellectually.

Being one of the leaders of a G7 country with a seat on the security council etc means that on a day to day basis you need to be able to master vast amounts of information and make quick informed decisions, you need to manage a huge team of people and are ultimately responsible for the finances of the State. You need to be able to command the respect of your counterparts in other countries and this will be vitally important in the the negotiations to leave the European Union, frankly I think Merkel, Macron et.al. will run rings around him. Crucially you also need to be able to survive on very little sleep. (EU meetings often go on late into the night) He has admitted to missing his allotment and finding the leadership exhausting and he is also 68 which means by the end of the next Parliament he will be 73.

This is a man who has 2 Es at A level and has never had a proper job, am sure he believes in his principals but they will be of limited use when running the country which requires completely different skills which he has never demonstrated. By all accounts he has struggled to keep up as leader of the opposition and has been completely unable to run the shadow cabinet effectively.

StillDrivingMeBonkers · 29/05/2017 17:13

jimmy laugh all you like - real working class people have been priced out of jobs by cheap foreign labour. The only party that plays on address their fear is UKIP. Right wing, left wing, both wings on the same bird.

ChinaRose · 29/05/2017 17:16

You're not wrong - up here in the north they've gone from Labour, to UKIP and now will be voting Tory. The working class will not vote for a champagne socialist terrorist sympathiser!

NameChanger22 · 29/05/2017 17:18

I like him, but I won't vote for him. Mainly because of brexit, and also because he doesn't understand the Middle East very well.

I think its fairly obvious why the media are after him.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 29/05/2017 17:18

watch the Andrew Neil interview

How anyone can watch that and still claim he is a man of principle is beyond me it's amazing what people will turn a blind eye to even after the horrendous terrorist attack this week

He has shown total disregard to our security services those people who keep our society safer

Plus I think he has led a very very poor opposition and made very poor choices and the way the far left have acted this past 18 months has often been appalling

Some people will over look his friends and contacts many more people won't thankfully the thought of having someone with his stance in high office makes me shudder

notangelinajolie · 29/05/2017 17:20

I have a lot of time for JC. It's simple really - the media doesn't give him a fair press and hey presto everyone believes what is reported/written is gospel. Now that we are in election mode fair and equal reporting comes into play and I expect people will actually start to make their own opinions about him.

StripySocks1 · 29/05/2017 17:21

The reason I won't vote for Corbyn is that he seems to me to be a dictator, it's his way or no way, he's not interested in listening to opinions that differ to his own and I think he's only ever spent time with people who share his opinions so I just cannot imagine him compromising, negotiating or leading the country effectively.

I was going to spoil my ballot but I'm so scared of what will happen if he comes to power I'm going to vote Tory, even though I'm Labour through and through and until the last few days I could never have imagined that I'd vote Tory in my entire life.

NameChanger22 · 29/05/2017 17:22

If you asked me why people don't like Theresa May I could give you at least 100 good reasons. I can only think of handful for Corbin.

Branleuse · 29/05/2017 17:22

i like him a lot. Hes a good strong leader, dont believe the sun

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 29/05/2017 17:24

I love how anyone who doesn't agree with Corbyn is assumed to be (a) stupid and (b) a Sun/Mail reader Grin

deeedeee · 29/05/2017 17:25

I like him. I was disspointed at all the open goals he missed whilst in opposition, but I think his speech on Friday was amazing. Proper actual statesman stuff. He's a weather cock not a wind vane.

Here's his full speech, so you can read it yourself and judge him on his words, not on what the media want you to think of him.
