Womans aid isn't open on weekends, it's says Monday - Friday on the website, who else can I ring?
Posting on here for traffic & because some of you have read my previous threads

Great idea, definitely ring them. They will be a great support. You might want to keep a diary of the things he's done. It helps when you have a wobble, I kept a diary in case I had to go to court but it also really helped me not to go back to him.

It's amazing what you forget

Queenofthestress · 29/05/2017 14:33

He's been back to the house twice, I've got an officer coming round or ringing me later to find out what's going on,

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 29/05/2017 14:41

I've nothing of use to add but well done you for being so strong, you're inspiring.

picklemepopcorn · 29/05/2017 14:43

That's good about the police.

He's slowly realising that he's really messed up. He can't change though, so don't listen when he says he will. If he could, he already would. If he could have changed, but didn't already, what does that say?

Don't let him carry on putting himself first at your expense, like he still is right now!

FloatyCat · 29/05/2017 15:03

Hi op, I think it's a good idea if you stop speaking to his mum whilst this is going on. I recall from one of your previous threads she has said she doesn't want him back in her house either.
You've taken the big step now, stay strong & speak to the Police.

pipsqueak25 · 29/05/2017 16:37

there must be others in similar situations to you ,queen, reading this thread and i really hope that even if one other person reads this and thinks queen has made a break for it may be i could too, then that has to be a fantastic thing. you can be strong, you've proved that, stay strong and if you feel you can please keep in touch with us. we are all standing along side you in spirit. londonrach · 29/05/2017 16:48

Queen..you are amazing!!!!! Dont let him crawl back. Xx

Queenofthestress · 29/05/2017 19:30

An officer is going round to tell them both to leave me alone, it feels like she's pressuring me to get back with him so I rang the dv unit again, I wish they would both go away

OP posts:
Queenofthestress · 29/05/2017 19:59

Just sat waiting for an officer to come round either today or tomorrow

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 29/05/2017 20:05

Tomorrow isn't very good if he's hassling you today!

Can anyone come round and be with you or can you take the kids somewhere else?

BTW, hopefully you won't need it, because I'm sure you won't let him in, but just in case - if you ever need to ring 999 but can't speak, when you hear the operator speak press 55 and they will understand that means "I need immediate help but can't speak". There was an article about it in the paper the other day. (Don't know if it was this one) www.independent.co.uk/life-style/call-999-emergency-services-what-to-do-if-cant-talk-advice-crime-accident-police-ambulance-a7524196.html

Queenofthestress · 29/05/2017 20:21

I will advertise that trick on fb I think! Bertie never knew that, would have bloody helped Sunday morning :(

OP posts:
prettywhiteguitar · 29/05/2017 20:30

Ring the police if he turns up, both him and his mother will ramp up trying to pressurise you because you're not doing what they want. Keep strong and don't be afraid to ring 999 if he turns up. Keep asking for help, you need the support of the services around you to deal with him

picklemepopcorn · 29/05/2017 20:38

Hang in there Queen. Hopefully, the police will warn them off and they'll realise they need to leave you alone.

DJBaggySmalls · 29/05/2017 20:44

There's some info here about getting an injunction or non molestation order. I hope you're OK.

NellieBuff · 29/05/2017 20:48

You are doing brilliantly. As others have said hang in there. There are a lot of folk routing for you

ArchieStar · 29/05/2017 20:50

FlowersFlowers you are doing amazing OP. Can't believe his mother is hassling you, what a cow.

BertieBotts · 29/05/2017 20:57

I didn't know it either, and I would have thought it was one of those urban myths if I hadn't read it in the paper.

Queenofthestress · 29/05/2017 22:30

No police yet :( looking at the injunction link and I've sent it to my mum to see what she thinks, I might ask for one tomorrow

Is it normal to feel horribly guilty for turning his life upside down?

OP posts:
KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 30/05/2017 00:18

Are you ok?
Do you have anyone with you?

It is normal for them to grind you down the point where you feel a whole range of emotions toward them, especially sympathetic. It's important you know abusive partners will use your weakened state to try and worm their way back in using a variety of tactics.
Please do not hesitate to dial 999 at the first instance you feel in danger.

DancingLedge · 30/05/2017 00:25

You are not turning his life upside down. He is reaping the consequences of his own actions. He brought this on himself. Not you.

But oddly, yes feeling some guilt is not uncommon. Even though you're not guilty. He's guilty.
The police only remove someone when it's clear they've done something wrong.

You can ride out this bit of negative feeling, which will soon fade. Remember how scared he made you feel? Get angry with him.He was horrible to you, and you deserve better.

You're being so strong .
My advice don't look at any texts you're getting ,get some sleep , and start out again fresh tomorrow.

Queenofthestress · 30/05/2017 00:26

I'm on my own with the kids, my friends just left, so I'm just sat in the bedroom strengthening the resolve thinking how many damn times I hid in the bedroom after he'd flipped at me for nothing

My mum's suggested doing victim support counselling and a womans aid course on identifying healthy relationships that I'm going to sign up for tomorrow whilst I wait for the police to come finish an in-depth DVR

OP posts:
DancingLedge · 30/05/2017 00:33

Those courses, like the Freedom Course, are really good, they help you fully see just how an abusive man gets inside your head and wears you now.
You sound so strong, standing up to this shit.
Hope you're remembering to pat yourself on the back for that. And for keeping your kids future safe.
Hope you can get some sleep.

notapizzaeater · 30/05/2017 00:34

It seems so hard now but you are doing the right thing. No one should live scared

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 30/05/2017 01:50

You are doing so well. Keep thinking about the future for you and your kids. You are taking active steps toward a positive life for all of you.
