To not have a fucking clue which party to vote for?

For the first time ever I am considering spoiling my paper.

Live in a pretty safe Tory seat with Lib dem possibilities. I've voted lib dem for the last few elections.

But I don't like Farron and really don't agree with legalising cannabis. I'd like a soft Brexit but also don't want to keep yearning after Remain (I voted remain)

I hate the idea of grammar schools, fox hunting and social care cuts, so that's the tories out, although I'm brainwashed enough to think that TM is experienced enough to negotiate successfully with the EU.

THE Labour manifesto seems all lovely and cuddly but I don't believe for a second they can afford half of it. Plus I don't mind JC but hate the majority of his front bench. I run my own company and am unsure whether Labour will be any help to me at all.

I don't like any of the leaders very much.

You are supposed to vote for the local candidate who you think does the best job. To put that in perspective - I've never voted for May, Cameron, Brown, Blair, major et al - I don't live in their constituencies.

General elections are not supposed to be about leadership personalities.

I do wish people understood the Prime Minister role is an appointment role and can be changed in the click of your fingers.

I'm with you! Totally clueless and I've so far read both manifestos labour/tory. There's bits I agree with in each, there's also bits I majorly disagree with in both. My next mission is to write points out and see who comes out top, I seriously believe everyone should use their vote and that you should make an informed decision...however currently I'd happily stick my head in the sand

I'm with you OP. Usually vote lib dem, not crazy for Tim Farron. I keep doing the quiz and it keeps telling me to vote conservative but I don't agree with most of their policies so I don't want to.

Voting Lib Dem isn't going to legalise cannabis or put Farron in power so that's not something to worry about. It might be one less parliamentary vote for the fox-hunting, grammar school and dementia tax supporting party if enough local people agree with you though.

Don't vote Tory. because they're evil and incompetent.

I Think I'd be more relieved if TM was voted in than JC as far as the Brexit talks go. But I agree the tories are incompetents. But then so are Labour! They are all awful!!

Attempted a tactical vote last time by voting Lib Dem but it didn't work as they crashed and burned everywhere and Labour did far better than usual here.

Tory stronghold here anyway so this time I'm voting for candidate and voting for the lady I know and used to work with as I know she's honest and has people's interests at heart not her own like current Tory cow.

Simple - if all you care about is the creation of private wealth and what's in it for you, vote Tory. If you care about society as a whole, vote Labour/one of the other parties. Manifestos are just words, but the core ideology of the main parties never changes.

Also I don't understand how people can think TM is best placed to handle Brexit negotiations - look at her track record of alienating the EU so far. Anyway it would be Kier Starmer, a QC and experienced negotiator, who would be leading the Labour negotiations.

Make sure your vote is anti-Tory. So whichever party is going to make the Tory MP lose or not win.

Judge by results, look at people you know and respect and find out who most of them vote for and go with that.

Head is currently persuading heart that not voting because wimminz is permissible.

The choice is Tory if you love the Tory manifesto, or whomever has the next best chance of winning in your constituency if you don't want to see a Tory landslide and all of their policies waved through the next parliament with no opposition. You don't really need to worry about Tim Farron being the next PM!

I live in a swing London seat so my vote will count.

I don't want a Hard Brexit so will vote Labour - I think Theresa May's election gamble will unravel.

Though Mumsnet posts keep dragging me towards voting Tory because they're (MN) so didactic and preachy.

Theresa May is rubbish at negotiating. Good at telling, not good at negotiating. (see her record in the home office). I have voted Tory in tge past (as well as labour). I can't vote Tory because amongst other things I care about education.
I can't decide between labour and libdem. I'm doing what you are doing: re reading manifestos.

Im in a safe Tory seat, and with 70% of the population being retired it's not going to change anytime soon. I voted greens last time but will vote labour this time and just hope enough people do too as my kids school has already made 5 teachers redundant and is now asking for contributions towards pens and books. I live in a wealthy area and most parents will cough up, hate to think how the schools in poorer areas will cope.

If you care about what will help you personally - vote Conservative.

If you care about what happens to others - vote Labour.
