So iv been fake tanning (as I'm a milk bottle) and the buzzer goes. I ran to it and buzzed him up. Grabbed a dressing gown ( as im wearing a steappy top and no bra, due to the fake tanning )and opened the door. The man looks me up and down and says "sorry to have woken you....Not like its the afternoon or anything Hmm". Cheeky fucker! My son then cane running at me in his stroller so I took my package said thanks and closed the door.

AIBU that I didn't tell the cheeky bastard to mind his own and kindly fuck off?? I wish I did now! Or sent my 6 month old after him!

You must have so much time in your hands to be able to go online to make a thread about this. Jeez. (replying to you whilst phone is on charge. ) Has MN become social network for bored people with mostly nothing relevant to say?

Salmotrutta · 27/05/2017 14:29

There are indeed some grumpy gits sparkle - of course the OP can post this story.
I'd have been annoyed to by the way OP - he was a cheeky so and so.
It's not his job to give an opinion like that - there are any number of reasons why you might be wearing a dressing gown through the day!

LorLorr2 · 27/05/2017 14:30

Buy something else for him to deliver but this time look amazing, eye him up & down and say 'oh, rough day is it?' Lol.
I hate unwarranted comments!

LorLorr2 · 27/05/2017 14:31

Also I'm very very confused as to which threads people find 'acceptable' and which to scoff at! What is going on?

Salmotrutta · 27/05/2017 14:31

For christs sake!

Are people only meant to post deep and meaningful ponderings on the state of the world then?

SleightOfHand · 27/05/2017 14:31

I think it's best to start threads in "chat" because a lot of posters seem to come on "AIBU" just to fight.

eleanor1989 · 27/05/2017 14:32

*muvva

Well seen as iv already cleaned the house, prepared dinner and my son is having a nap, no I don't have anything better to do. Obviously you have even less to do if you spend your time making grumpy comments

OP posts:
Salmotrutta · 27/05/2017 14:32

That was to MuvaWifey by the way.

usershitloadofnumbers · 27/05/2017 14:34

Everybody is allowed to rant, I am just puzzled that anyone would have given more than 2 seconds thoughts to the courier's comment in real life.

I do like that the OP is allowed to look a mess with a 6 months old but still have time to apply fake tan. Sorry OP, but you can't have it both ways Grin

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 27/05/2017 14:34

AIBU is often like poking at a wasps nest, run away or expect to get stung.

SleightOfHand · 27/05/2017 14:35

(replying to you whilst phone is on charge.) You're just as bad as the rest of us, that's no excuse.

babyturtles · 27/05/2017 14:36

Good god

I'd have told him to fuck off OP.

Not allowed to wear a dressing gown in your own home? Some people are ridiculous. "Don't give him the opportunity" who the fuck are these people?

pipsqueak25 · 27/05/2017 14:37

there was no need for his comment and even less for some of the responses, what if he had commented on you being bra less ? it's not his business to comment anyway and for the ticket inspector well...

HarrietKettleWasHere · 27/05/2017 14:37

The irony that posters think a thread is too banal for thought or comment then taking the time to comment on it is making me Grin

usershitloadofnumbers · 27/05/2017 14:39

but you don't know it's too banal until you've finished reading it, do you?

Some of the funniest comments are on the stupidest threads, so they're always worth a read anyway Grin

Salmotrutta · 27/05/2017 14:39

Well quite Harriet!

Some people got out of bed on the wrong side this morning by the looks of it.

SauvignonBlanche · 27/05/2017 14:40

Judgemental twat, you could have been a night shift worker.

AIBU does bring out the worst in people, doesn't it? Hmm

You might have been working nights hence the dressing gown in the day. He apologised in case he HAD woken you up.

You can dress how you want in your own home, of course you can, but he wasn't being rude and your responses here are disproportionately angry.

flippinada · 27/05/2017 14:42

These responses, honestly.... think some folk must have been drinking liberal amounts of neat vinegar cut with piss and lemon juice.

Yes, he was rude and I'm not surprised you're narked. It's none of his business what you're wearing - I've answered the door for deliveries looking a right old mess and never had so much a comment.

GabsAlot · 27/05/2017 14:42

what if op was working night shifts?

its not his place to comment if shes just woke up or not

eleanor1989 · 27/05/2017 14:42

My partner has been working every day for the last 3 weeks so I don't get any time to myself. Thought i could get my arms and chest done quickly ( im lazy and wont have my legs and stomach out anyway ) I did make sure I had some concealer on so not to frighten the delivery driver! Just didn't think a dressing gown would make him be a judgey pants!

Next time I'm fully prepared for a sarcastic coment back. Smile

OP posts:
NoFucksImAQueen · 27/05/2017 14:42

Well I suggest next time you don't give him
the opportunity to catch you looking a mess

What.the.fuck

29Palms · 27/05/2017 14:43

"Sorry to have woken you" is fine.

"Not like its the afternoon or anything" is not.

eleanor1989 · 27/05/2017 14:44

When I said he aplogised, it wasn't an actual apology. It was him being sarcastic. I tried to use the sarcastic face smiley but it turned into a star for some reason.
