So iv been fake tanning (as I'm a milk bottle) and the buzzer goes. I ran to it and buzzed him up. Grabbed a dressing gown ( as im wearing a steappy top and no bra, due to the fake tanning )and opened the door. The man looks me up and down and says "sorry to have woken you....Not like its the afternoon or anything Hmm". Cheeky fucker! My son then cane running at me in his stroller so I took my package said thanks and closed the door.

AIBU that I didn't tell the cheeky bastard to mind his own and kindly fuck off?? I wish I did now! Or sent my 6 month old after him!

Who made you the 'fuck off' arbitrator, Navy?

But since you make the rules, what is the official line on telling a belligerent poster, hell-bent on making an OP feel bad for no fathomable reason, to fuck off?

Maudlinmaud · 27/05/2017 16:14

OOh has this turned into style and beauty, b bold is a fantastic tan, you get a colour straight away and it develops.

WhereIsTheLikeButton · 27/05/2017 16:14

No OP someone who uses fake tan could never get under my skin.

MerchantofVenice · 27/05/2017 16:17

Oh you're back WhereIs

Yes, it's cool and funny to mock people's personal grooming choices.

Be grateful he delivered your parcel! I've yet to be anywhere where hermes has actually been any good Hmm
He was definitely cheeky!

Maudlinmaud · 27/05/2017 16:22

Haven't used that for years Navy. I might try it again. There is a new one here which is all the rage b perfect 10 second tan. I like the sound of it.

eleanor1989 · 27/05/2017 16:25

"Distraught by my looks". Thanks. Sure your a beauty too

Cheeky git made an assumption. How's this one- I've worked evenings more or less my whole adult life, when my DD started school my neighbour said "maybe now you can get a job". They've lived next door for 15 years assuming I don't work because they've seen me about during the day.Angry

Mu123 · 27/05/2017 16:35

My hermes guy would probably say something like this too, but he's a lovely bloke with brilliant banter so it would be taking as a joke and he woukd expect me to tell him to piss off.

If it was said in a rude tone, then yeah, do complain!!

MerchantofVenice · 27/05/2017 16:45

It's weird how many people get so outraged at the fact that someone is upset.

I think a reasonable response to the OP, if you're genuinely unable to understand her upset, would be along the lines of "don't take it to heart, try not to dwell on it."

Instead we get pages of unkind comments, sympathy for the offensive delivery driver, and real hostility at someone all because they were upset by something.

People are really weird.

WhereIsTheLikeButton · 27/05/2017 17:50

MuvaWifey77

Agreed, I wish there was a like button.

eleanor1989 · 27/05/2017 17:58

Sometimes I think people should be careful about making mean and nasty comments to people online. You may just say it to someone that is having a horrible time and they may take it to heart and hurt themselves because of it. Don't people read the news? I thankfully am not that person but another day another person. You wouldn't forgive yourself.

When you say these things you should imagine someone saying them to your mother or daughter.

like you are given a delivery time to help matters ridiculous comment

eleanor1989 · 27/05/2017 18:15

Hermes don't give a delivery time. At least not where I live.

Op, if I were you, I'd hide this thread now - I have no idea why people are being like this to you but it's totally uncalled for.

As I said earlier, I hope your tan has turned out a nice colour.

If the driver is rude the next time you see him, just ignore (or if you're brave enough, then please tell him to fuck off).

Chloe84 · 27/05/2017 19:07

OP, ignore Whereis. They were posting on another thread about how £10 is 'literally pennies' and only homeless people are happy to get a tenner. I smell a hairy hand.

The driver was a price, have a response ready for him for next time.

MerchantofVenice · 27/05/2017 19:08

Yes, it is a risk Navy

Sometimes it seems right to give someone some home truths/stern advice, and you're not to know that they are too fragile for that. Honest mistake.

On other occasions, there is no earthly reason to berate someone or mock their 'trivial' post, but you just do it for shits and giggles, and you've hurt them for no good reason. Bit like you and your ilk on this thread.

Chloe84 · 27/05/2017 19:12

Prick not price!

Starsandwishes · 27/05/2017 19:20

Maybe he was just having a joke with you

Most adults can tell the difference between somebody trying to make a lighthearted joke and somebody having a dig.

You are right and he is a prick. Who gives a shit what you are wearing in your own home or even outside for that matter? What is so offensive about a dressing gown? Would a wrap dress providing exactly the same amount of coverage and in he same style as a dressing gown have prompted the same comment?

Take comfort in the fact that I wear pyjamas/dressing gown/both ALL THE TIME when I am at home and never get comments from delivery drivers. I get showered, do the school run and then get into pyjamas as soon as I'm through the door. I have been wearing a dressing gown over my clothes since I was a teenager. I like to be comfortable at home.
