Crispy you're totally correct. This pink monstrosity was at Zara on a mannequin too Shock

I like both the white skirt and the white/pink floral top. Might try the top on....if I can find it at Bluewater....

I was going to tell a pp whereabouts the tights are now but then realised I'm not sure myself any more! and I was in there only last week!

wisemonkey · 27/05/2017 16:34

YANBU. ghastly 70s styles in nylon. No wonder their sales figures are so bad

Maudlinmaud · 27/05/2017 16:41

Saw that yesterday Timmytoo and then I saw it again in primark, stradivarius and mango and etc etc etc you catch my drift.

allowlsthinkalot · 27/05/2017 19:19

I like the top and I'm in my thirties rather than seventies. Pink dress is vile.

Lweji · 27/05/2017 22:09

Margot in the blue version,,,,clearly ahead of her time fashion wise...

That WAS the fashion of the time.

They're just bringing it back.

whyayepetal · 27/05/2017 22:17

M + S dress reminds me of the play "Abigail's Party". I swear the female character who said "Do you like Demis Roussos?" was dressed in that dress!

nakedscientist · 28/05/2017 11:55

Ok ladies I've just bought the top that pp said was curtains and I love it! No hard feelings.
Saw the pink dress on the window manaquin and even she looked a bit depressed Grin

Lweji · 28/05/2017 19:24

I could see myself wearing that top, but I'd never have curtains with a pattern like that. :)

nakedscientist · 28/05/2017 21:23

Lweji LOL at that! I have the top but never mentioned any bottoms Grin

Gingernaut · 13/07/2017 12:44

Found someone other than me who wore this thing.

A close up view shows a view of the ribbon at the back of the dress.

I've bought the cream one with the flowers. It looks hideous to some I know. It looks nice on me. But I'm a bit of a Margot. Or at least I used to be before getting chronically ill.

Gingernaut · 13/07/2017 17:10

See I like the pattern on the dress, but the style (to me and many) is unwearable.

Gingernaut · 13/07/2017 17:11

Would be better if I attached the pics. 😳

I've not seen that yellow kaftan before. 😨

PumpkinSpiceEverything · 13/07/2017 21:10

They really need help. I know they've been trying to re-brand their apparel to appeal to more than just pensioners but they're going in the completely wrong direction about it. (I feel entitled to speak my piece on this as I'm a former apparel designer who worked in NYC)

They'd be better suited to selling smaller sizes than an oversized 10 in their shops, and they need to invest in better textile/print design. Not to mention more feminine silhouettes. But that's just my opinion.

Whitlandcarm · 13/07/2017 21:34

I personally really like the black/blue dress. Very edgy and fashionable, it looks quite expensive. Much prefer it to the first t shirt.

TicketyBoo83 · 13/07/2017 21:35

I bought 5 tops in m&s the other night (when I popped in for bread and milk - oops!)

2 size 10s, 2 sizes 12s and 1 size 14. They all fit me Confused

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 13/07/2017 22:43

It doesn't take long to come across the ash up post apocalyptic Holly Hobby meets Demis Roussos as illustrated.
That or looking as though you have literally yanked some curtains from the windows of a wetherspoons and draped them around yourself.

They are literally and metaphorically all over the shop.

I was in M&S looking around the sale.

It's appalling. And so saddening. Sad

Racks rammed with this dreadful toot in unwearable colours, like Primark or TK Maxx but with no one buying.

The quality of the cloth is good, but what they've done with it is.....😨

Who the fuck did they test this stuff on?

Where did they find the people who though rack upon rack of elongated, bugle sleeves, one sleeve/off the shoulder, Bardot necklines that come nowhere near the neck or deeply unflattering crop trousers were the way to go?

Who did they ask? Primark?

stuntcamel · 14/07/2017 00:01

That pink dress is perfect for Dolores Umbridge

Gingernaut · 14/07/2017 00:02

Who's Delores Umbridge? Confused

brasty · 14/07/2017 00:07

Some of these things do not look good on thin models, but actually suit fatter women.

TheHedgehogCanNeverBe · 14/07/2017 07:23

They are definitely using left over material...the triangle on the right os exactly the same pattern as M and S curtains I bought years ago Grin
