I started off thinking I'd vote SNP but I've definitely settled on Labour.

I'm not pretending that any if the available options are perfect but I feel like every time Theresa May talks about Brexit and "stands up" to Europe (our closest ally and trading partner ffs), it's a bit like cringing as a racist out of touch relative starts spouting off at a party and praying to God they don't say anything too damaging for the sake of the family's reputation.

As for strong and stable....

However, I can't pretend that Labour are much better, I just know that their view of society chimes more closely with mine.

I don't want to start a bun fight, I just want to gauge how dramatic this Tory landslide is going to be or if there's still some hope....

Dons hard hat and awaits flaming!

Well I did have a little wobble when found out my fab MP was standing down - as am not a fan of JC - but would never vote tory and my vote for labour will count in my constituency - so my cross goes to the newly selected labour candidate. Am in London so labour should get in around these parts. Friends live in Barnes and they all appear to be voting lib den (to keep Zac Goldsmith out - again!) - but I do worry head girl May will get in with a landslide from the rest of the country and we are all doomed! Seriously though part of me hates all politicians and voting for them only encourages them! Everyone I have ever even lightly admired has ended up being a disappointment - but I guess its better than Trump (I mean wtf!)!

Hassled · 22/05/2017 20:55

I've voted Labour so long that it's in my blood - I couldn't not vote for them, no matter how much I've wobbled over Corbyn. I am cheered by their manifesto, though - and they have some really good, decent, principled people.

I think the Tories will get a clear majority, but I'm starting to think it won't be the massive landslide that was predicted when the election was called.

PigletJohn · 22/05/2017 22:49

Did LadyPW ever tell us where she got the idea that Jeremy is an IRA supporter?

Was it the same place as Sophy?

Fanciedachange17 · 22/05/2017 23:15

I've never voted Labour before but am doing so this election. Usually I go with Lib Dem but I am dismayed with their stand on Brexit.
Originally I liked May and thought she was honourable. Now I am horrified by the privatisation of the NHS and Care services by the back door. The fact she is backtracking shows a weakness and a dishonesty I cannot abide. Not happy with any of them but I am sticking a vote in Labour's direction. I have a feeling I am not alone and the Polls/Media may get another surprise.

Madwoman5 · 22/05/2017 23:49

Don't agree with all her policies but want her at that table when the blood starts flowing. Can you imagine JC versus Junker? As for that vapid LD idiot.... nope, Tory this time then see what happens over the next few years. May consider changing after this one if anyone can come up with a sensible manifesto.

PigletJohn · 23/05/2017 00:25

"when the blood starts flowing"

that's interesting

with the help of the right-wing press, she's created a combative mood, arrayed against a common enemy. They were even suggesting a war with Spain, over Gibraltar.

The 27 were bemused by the idea. The entire European ethos is based on negotiation, compromise, mutual benefit and consensus. What's the benefit of whipping up hatred?

I know Boris the Buffoon is stupid enough to enjoy making enemies. Is Theresa is stupid as Boris?

Italiangreyhound · 23/05/2017 00:30

Will be voting labour, as usual.

mogloveseggs · 23/05/2017 00:36

Always been tory but not this time. Dh the same. Labour for us now.

russetbella1000 · 23/05/2017 00:39

Labour!

LellyMcKelly · 23/05/2017 00:57

Was going to vote LibDem because of Brexit, but am veering towards Labour now, mainly because their manifesto is closer to my own views, and also because we have a very good, local, and anti-Brexit Labour MP.

I'm not a fan of JC, but there are some really good potential future leaders in the party. These are difficult times (and we've already lost 2 months of Brexit negotiating time because of this stupid election), but I'd prefer the likes of Keir Starmer leading these negotiations, rather than Davis or Johnson.

pennypickle · 23/05/2017 03:01

Tory got me even though they don't stand a chance around here. I have always voted labour in the past. Not a chance will I vote for Corbyn and his merry band of fools!

makeourfuture · 23/05/2017 06:18

when the blood starts flowing

It is flowing in Yemen.

Madwoman5 · 23/05/2017 08:03

Metaphoric blood not actual blood. Strikes me that with the characters involved, it will turn into a cat fight.
Spain had a bloody cheek re Gibraltar and should have been given short shrift by the EU for their behaviour. The fact they weren't speaks volumes.
Europe will decide the deal we get. We just need a strong person to go to the table and I just don't see JC or NF in that role.

bruffian · 23/05/2017 08:08

I was going to vote lib dem, but I think the cannabis plan is stupid and I can't bear to vote for it. My brother has mh problems almost certainly caused by skunk smoking.

Labour is a wasted vote here, in fact I'm not sure if we have a labour candidate Confused also I really don't like jc and thought their manifesto was childish.

So I will vote Tory.

bruffian · 23/05/2017 08:16

Teresa may isn't 'determined to bring back fox hunting' she has promised a vote on it. I doubt very much the vote will be in favour of lifting the ban.

makeourfuture · 23/05/2017 08:35

Teresa may isn't 'determined to bring back fox hunting' she has promised a vote on it.

Again, why is this even in her optic?

Interesting to find that user' has already completed her investigation and confirmed her findings.

Perhaps she should offer her report to the Manchester Police.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 23/05/2017 08:48

My natural inclination would be to vote LibDem, but the plan to legalise cannabis, the Brexit issue and the plan to focus on younger voters has put me right off. I don't rate Tim Farron either.

I think I will have to spoil my vote.

bruffian · 23/05/2017 08:53

Because the conservatives have promised a free vote on hunting for years, since they were elected originally. A lot of people in the countryside have supported the conservatives purely because of this.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 23/05/2017 09:01

My brother has mh problems almost certainly caused by skunk smoking.

Correlation does not prove causation

ShatnersWig · 23/05/2017 09:05

In my constituency there is absolutely no chance of a change in MP. In 2015, Tory won with 55% of the vote, 15% Lab, 14% Lib Dem and 13% UKIP. Tories have held the seat since THE LATE NINETEENTH CENTURY. The only chance of unseating him would be if the other parties agreed in advance to only one of them actually standing and hoping every non-Tory would vote for that party and that a percentage of Tory voters decided to switch. In other words, it ain't happening.

I'm veering to spoiling my ballot.

bruffian · 23/05/2017 09:05

No, hence 'almost certainly'

His doctors seem to think this is what caused it though, in fact that's what they told my parents after he'd been sectioned. I don't think it's a particularly out there suggestion.

Biker47 · 23/05/2017 09:08

Nope, still voting Conservative, not that it matters as I live in a North Eastern Labour love in.
