I started off thinking I'd vote SNP but I've definitely settled on Labour.

I'm not pretending that any if the available options are perfect but I feel like every time Theresa May talks about Brexit and "stands up" to Europe (our closest ally and trading partner ffs), it's a bit like cringing as a racist out of touch relative starts spouting off at a party and praying to God they don't say anything too damaging for the sake of the family's reputation.

As for strong and stable....

However, I can't pretend that Labour are much better, I just know that their view of society chimes more closely with mine.

I don't want to start a bun fight, I just want to gauge how dramatic this Tory landslide is going to be or if there's still some hope....

Dons hard hat and awaits flaming!

The 'internet fuckwittery' Grin suggestions had me laughing my head off.

ethelfleda · 25/05/2017 16:30

Voting Labour for the first time. After doing my own research and not listening to unfounded and biased opinions from the media (And the people that regurgitate what they read) and coming to the conclusion that Corbyn is the best man for the job.

ethelfleda · 25/05/2017 16:35

I am shocked at how many people cant bring themselves to actually open their minds an inch and do a little research on JC and what he stands for Sad

Other people have different views to you.

People including myself have explained why many times.

Petronius16 · 25/05/2017 17:47

Just for the record I know eight people who said they voted Leave because they believed the £350M would go to the NHS.

Bluebeedee · 25/05/2017 17:58

Penny- it was a blatant lie by someone in power and all you can say is "well you weren't supposed to believe him!"

I know several people who voted to leave because they thought this money would go to the NHS.

BlondieJ · 25/05/2017 18:07

I am voting for labour.
I would love to have a female prime minister that I could be proud of... May is not that person for me.
I wasn't absolutely sure at first, but Jeremy Corbyn has completely won me over!

BlondieJ · 25/05/2017 18:10

Seeing JC at a rally gave me that final piece of confidence in him that I needed. I wish everyone could hear him speak. And since then I have done a lot of my own research on line, and not gone on what I hear and see in the news and media... what a difference I see!

TheBadgersMadeMeDoIt · 25/05/2017 18:12

I have also changed from Green to Labour. Started off as a Labour voter years ago but "New Labour" put me off. Now, for the first time in over 20 years the Labour Party have produced a manifesto that actually looks like a Labour Party manifesto.

I never bought into the media's vilifying of Corbyn, and having done my own research and listened to his speeches I have come to the conclusion that he's the only party leader I've heard talking sense. Will be watching with interest when he goes up against Andrew Neil (particularly in light of TM's lacklustre performance).

I don't much care for being told what to think, which is why I have taken the time to look into JC's background and make up my own mind. "Unelectable" is he? Well, pardon me but I think the voters get to decide who is or is not electable, not the press.

pennypickle · 25/05/2017 18:13

People who interpreted "We send £350 to the EU each year. Let's fund our NHS instead" as we will spend £350m a year on the NHS can't be very bright can they??

pennypickle · 25/05/2017 18:18

Here's an interesting video....

Umm... political parties make the laws - so change them in the UK's best interest.

Bojo and his ramblings seem to be top of the agenda again and again.... never mind, Let's put the UK at risk because Labour have not yet grasped that the UK will very soon be able to make its own laws in the UK's best interest.

Bluebeedee · 25/05/2017 18:27

Penny, right. So politicians can lie and people are "not very bright" for believing them?!

To ask I if anyone has changed their voting preference?
PigletWasPoohsFriend · 25/05/2017 18:38

I wish everyone could hear him speak.

I have thank you.

pennypickle · 25/05/2017 18:50

Blue. He didn't lie. At no point did he say that £350m per year would be spent in the NHS. Ever heard of spin doctors and propaganda?

pennypickle · 25/05/2017 18:56

Anyway the town near me has just been evacuated. 2 suspicious devices found. Hope it's a hoax - probably another waste of police resources, time and money. But let's not worry about that...

BlondieJ · 25/05/2017 19:01

@piglet You are welcome.

Bluebeedee · 25/05/2017 19:14

I'm not sure how else this (as per my photo above) can be interpreted:

Pressed on whether he still stood by the claim, the Foreign Secretary, replied: “Of course I do.” On the programme Mr Johnson was also presented on the programme with a photograph of him with the slogan: “Let’s give our NHS the £350m the EU takes every week”

grannytomine · 25/05/2017 19:50

Bluebeedee, what you posted is absolutely clear. I don't see how anyone could deny it.

Curlyshabtree · 25/05/2017 19:57

Have always voted Green or Lib Dem. This year I'm voting Labour for the first time.

Petronius16 · 25/05/2017 20:04

You're right penny, at no point did he say that £350m per year would be spent in the NHS. He said Let's give our NHS the £350 million the EU takes every week. Week not year, is what he said. We have never ever given the EU £350 million a week. He lied.

LellyMcKelly · 26/05/2017 10:06

My mother voted leave because of the £350m for the NHS. She freely admitted that she had no clue what the EU did. And yes, she might be a bit thick, but she still had a vote. It's shameful that people were misled in this way.

BewtySkoolDropowt · 26/05/2017 10:29

No change here.

There is no point in voting anything other than lib dem or Snp here.

I can't bring many to vote for the incumbent mp, who is a liar and very swiftly turned tory during the coalition. The snp candidate is a very good candidate, so snp it is. If Labour were stronger here is consider them, they have a good candidate but not enough support to risk lib dems getting in by voting for her.

pennypickle · 26/05/2017 11:14

That's your interpretation. Can you see anything on that bus that says "We give £350m to the EU. Let's use the £350m to fund the NHS instead"??

What he said during his campaign was "We give £350m per year to the EU. That money would be better spent on UK's priorities - like NHS, education, social care....

pennypickle · 26/05/2017 11:19

Plus The Tories state in their manifesto that they will provide 8bn over the next five years solely for the NHS. I can't see your beef

PigletJohn · 26/05/2017 11:27

And where do they say this notional £8bn would come from, if they were elected?
