To suck the snot out of your child's nose and swallow it. Or spit it, for that matter. I just heaved watching a woman do this to her snotty toddler this afternoon at soft play. Hmm

OP posts:
TwatteryFlowers · 19/05/2017 15:19

Yuk. Has she not heard of Kleenex?

TheStoic · 19/05/2017 15:20

Dare I say it, but plenty of women have had other bodily fluids in their mouths...and have swallowed...

But yes the thought of it really turns my stomach. Grin

PsychoSyd · 19/05/2017 15:20

They do this in France.

WanderingTrolley1 · 19/05/2017 15:21

I wouldn't suck the snot, but, nice, juicy bodies I'll pull out and chew on any day of the week!

ChildishGambino · 19/05/2017 15:21

I was told to do this when DD had a cold. Er....nope!

theymademejoin · 19/05/2017 15:21

A warning in the title would have been nice. I was eating and now I'm gagging. Maybe ask for a "gross" warning to be added to the title.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 19/05/2017 15:21

OMG. I've just nearly threw up. God knows what you're like after actually seeing it
The dirty bitch. WTF does that.
Has she never heard of tissues.

findingmyfeet12 · 19/05/2017 15:21

Bodies ?

GreenRut · 19/05/2017 15:22

I did to this to ds when he was a small baby (weeks old) and had a heavy cold. I did it at home though when no one else could see me!

BlueSunGreenMoon · 19/05/2017 15:23

I wouldn't do it but it isn't the grossest thing in the world. Calling her a "dirty bitch" seems uncalled for.

KoalaDownUnder · 19/05/2017 15:23

Wandering, please tell me that wasn't a typo for 'bogies'. PLEASE.

lizzyj4 · 19/05/2017 15:24

Wow, that's truly disgusting, I wish I could unread that. Boak.

NoodleNinja · 19/05/2017 15:24

I feel sick. I'm like a PP in that I can deal with any other bodily fluid but snot makes me sick. I had one of those snot sucking bulbs when DD was a baby and it was so handy when she was snotty but I still heaved every time I had to use it. I cannot imagine actually sucking snot out with my mouth.

Aww fuck I really do feel physically sick now.

findingmyfeet12 · 19/05/2017 15:24

You think bodies is preferable to bogies?

cherrytree63 · 19/05/2017 15:24

My stomach flips if I see people picking their nose, if I'd seen that being done I'd have heaved my lunch up!
Similarly people who squeeze one nostril and blow the other one on the pavement. Boak!

BeyondThePage · 19/05/2017 15:24

My nona was Greek - she did this and showed us with ours - it helps your baby breathe when they have a cold - why on earth would you rather your baby suffered.

(do you find oral sex disgusting too?)

lizzyj4 · 19/05/2017 15:25
  • Also agree that a warning in the title is needed for those of us with weaker stomachs.
Comps83 · 19/05/2017 15:25

Oh god yeah Ive heard of this. I would actually be sick if I saw it.

PaintingOwls · 19/05/2017 15:26

Hahaha I forget how delicate and precious western people are.

This is perfectly normal in other parts of the world, stop being so dramatic. As PPs have said, I'm sure you've had worse things in your mouth Hmm

KoalaDownUnder · 19/05/2017 15:26

Well, bodies would make no sense, so I'm assuming she meant bogies. Vomitous.

AntagonyAunt · 19/05/2017 15:27

Let me get this right- she put her mouth directly onto the child's nose...and sucked?

WanderingTrolley1 · 19/05/2017 15:27

I meant bogies, yes!

Nice, green chewy bogies...

KoalaDownUnder · 19/05/2017 15:28

From your child's nose??!

findingmyfeet12 · 19/05/2017 15:28

Its probably pretty effective but I don't think I could do it.

If I absolutely had to resort to this I'd make an effort to hide what I was doing though as I don't think it's particularly nice for others to see.

windmillasaurus · 19/05/2017 15:29

My mother in law did this for my then 5 month old who was all full of cold. She spat the snot out. She was shocked that I wouldn't do it. I was shocked that she did but grateful to have a baby who could breath easy again.
