I just need to vent here as the people or Facebook love a bandwagon to jump on.

No, of course he wasn't going to announce where the boy was buried. He's kept it secret for all those years, do you really think he would've told anyone at the last minute? No. He hasn't the empathy for it. Basic Criminal profile will tell you this ten times over. You cannot expect mercy and closure from such a human monster.

Furthermore, no, torture and the death penalty shouldn't be brought back. Firstly, basic human rights, regardless of who you are, and secondly, and most importantly, blurred lines. Yes, Ian Brady most certainly deserved it however where will these penalties stop? Will there be falsely accused individuals throughout the years if it was brought back into practise? Probably.

Anyone else agree with anything I've said? Yes, he was a despicable human being but he didn't think like us and isn't of a normal thinking. He was truly a monster is human form. Natural human empathy cannot be expected by such killers.

Give it a rest Fruit you are being ridiculous. Call them, see how far you get. Hey someone on Mumsnet said this on a forum about a sick child killer. Get a grip.

Instasista · 16/05/2017 21:45

"Today 21:38 FruitCider

Fine, being as you won't confirm that he does not work at ashworth, or confirm that you were lying about him disclosing personal information about Bradey, I'll be contacting the BPS and the NHS trust."

Oh come on, waggle your head. Contact them and tell them
Some random on the internet knows someone who may or may not work at ashworth and may or not have been involved with Brady's treatment? Sure they'll be really grateful Confused

UrsulaPandress · 16/05/2017 21:47

You can't even spell his name correctly Fruit so maybe take a rest.

FruitCider · 16/05/2017 21:47

I think you will find they will be highly interested. But I'm off work tomorrow, so we will soon find out. I'm sure there aren't that many male criminal psychologists working at ashworth.

SumThucker · 16/05/2017 21:48

FFS Fruit, ridiculous Hmm

Fluffypinkpyjamas · 16/05/2017 21:51

I am almost embarrassed for you

Instasista · 16/05/2017 21:52

Im embarrassed for her too. Cringe

PortiaCastis · 16/05/2017 21:53

Oh dear me too
Cringe

pictish · 16/05/2017 21:55

"I think you will find they will be highly interested."

I doubt it.

RoseGoldProsecco · 16/05/2017 21:57

Well, there was not a shred of personal information shared. And he didn't treat him. My original post was shittily put/guilty of internet exaggeration.

What he does do, is work fucking hard with people who need him. The last thing they would need would be for him to lose his job, because his ex had a glass of wine too many and flapped her gums wanting to impress on the internet!

pictish · 16/05/2017 22:00

And it's Brady - there's no e.

SaorAlbaGuBrath · 16/05/2017 22:06

Pauline Reade, John Kilbride, Keith Bennett, Lesley Ann Downey and Edward Evans

These are the people who matter, who should be remembered, who should never be forgotten. Not the soulless cretins who took their lives so viciously.

Those children have almost got lost in the circus of frothing, righteous indignation of people poring over every detail of their terrible deaths. They are who matter, not the horrible bastards who took them.

PortiaCastis · 16/05/2017 22:07

Hear hear

Terfing · 16/05/2017 22:26

Someone mentioned Gary Glitter upthread... I must admit, I wouldn't be too fussed if he got his commupance! Angry

StickThatInYourPipe · 16/05/2017 22:44

No that was me it was just a tv show about what would happen if we had the death penalty in England. It just changed my mind on the whole thing, mainly because of the people actually doing the execution.

StickThatInYourPipe · 16/05/2017 22:47

Fruit you're not serious?

Mermaidinthesea123 · 16/05/2017 22:50

I work in a prison as part of my NHS job and have also worked on various psychiatric locked units over the years in my nursing days. Expecting Ian Brady to have any empathy or understanding is like asking a rock to cry. He simply didn't have the mental capacity.
It's pointless frothing at the mouth about it and talking about hanging etc.
You only have to hope that any future Ian Bradys are picked up before they start offending and whilst having the deepest of sympathy for all the victims and their families I have a duty of care to do my bst for all my patients regardless of crime.

Mermaidinthesea123 · 16/05/2017 22:52

PS I have never worked at Ashworth :-/

Fluffypinkpyjamas · 17/05/2017 01:12

www.searchingforkeith.com/

On your day off Fruit take a look at that. A beautiful little life snuffed out by someone whose privacy you're ranting about.

Pallisers · 17/05/2017 01:17

I agree with those who think he honestly couldn't remember where he had put the body of that little boy or else the body had moved with the moors.

I do think it is likely he got some degree of sick satisfaction from knowing that Keith's family thought he knew and could tell but didn't - final control.

I do wonder about the decision to force-feed him though. That was a hard one. He wanted to die. No one particularly wanted him alive. I suppose in some way it punished him more to stay alive but still ... was the cost worth it?

Pallisers · 17/05/2017 01:19

Oh and to the OP ... completely agree.

I live in the US and the death penalty is an abomination. Luckily I live in a non-death penalty state but still ...

Torture equally is an abomination (and I live in a country that has used it - so does everyone in the UK).

The point about values/standards etc is that they apply even in the hard cases.

CheeseQueen · 17/05/2017 01:24

YADBU.
I couldn't give a shit if he was so called "normal" thinking or not.
The fact of the matter is, he gave up all rights when he tortured and killed those babies.
I'm the most placid person ever, but for him I would make an exception.
Utter, utter, scum who deserved no rights. He should have been tortured daily until he gave up the location of where poor Keith was buried.
Utterly heartbreaking to imagine what his mum must have felt - to go to her grave knowing he was killed but never knowing where her baby was - knowing he was out there somewhere without her. Sad

CheeseQueen · 17/05/2017 01:27

Well bully for you for being a "better" person as I just couldn't. How the hell you can care for child killers and torturers and basically say "it's just my job" is utterly beyond my comprehending.

CheeseQueen · 17/05/2017 01:36

Yes, his crimes were hideous, and we will never forget them, but he was unwell, hence being in hospital and not prison!
Genuine question - do you have kids? If so, would you say their torturer and murderer was simply unwell and you forgave them?
