People assume I would like to have larger breasts

Why do people (three good friends have mentioned this) who have large breasts think that I must want large breasts.
I have no issue with my 34A boobs and neither does my DP. If I had bigger boobs I would be overweight. These friends have large breasts but are also overweight.
One asked, don't you ever consider chicken fillets? Umm no.
I have no issues with my body although others seem to see the imperfections. It infuriates me that everyone assumes you must have some issues, what are we teaching our DDs if this is the case? AIBU?

I love my little boobs, I'm 50 and they haven't moved much in 20 years and 2 babies. I used to hate them in my teens and twenties though.

Kittencatkins123 · 14/05/2017 00:10

I'm sad that this thread seems to have turned into SMALL BOOBS GREAT vs BIG BOOBS GREAT. Surely all boobs are great, or all boobs have their bloody plus points. But at the end of the day they are just bloody boobs.

BuntyFigglesworthSpiffington · 14/05/2017 00:12

Well said Kitten. Tits are tits, they transcend social and economic divides. Long live tits.

Pigface1 · 14/05/2017 00:14

nolove that's absolutely revolting - sorry you experienced that :(

Kittencatkins123 · 14/05/2017 00:14

Bunty To tits! Wine

Lovedlost · 14/05/2017 00:16

Me too!
Never fancied big boobs. Mine have fed several babies with no change in shape. I can sleep on my stomach, I can wear what I want.
Also, I have gel bras available if dictated by outfit! 😁

NoLoveofMine · 14/05/2017 00:18

Thanks Pigface1. Sadly not unique amongst friends. It's really nice of you to say that though, it's appreciated Smile

Honestly, i think a lot of people have issues with their own breasts, so assume everyone else does. Since yours are so different to theirs, maybe they are asking such questions to try to convince themselves grass isn't always greener and that you're as unhappy as they are. They may be unhappy or insecure about the fact they do have large breasts.

Me myself, my insecurities are that my right breast is quite a lot bigger than my left. Noticeably bigger, as in at least a cup size and a half size difference. They are also completely different shapes, with the right being a fuller, rounder shape. I could be happy if both my breasts were like my left breast, and i'd be incredibly happy if both were like my right breast. As it goes though, i'm not about to go through surgery to alter them.

Another issue i have is congenital symmastia. My breasts don't have a gap between them, rather they are joined together. I just have a crease goes down like if you fold a page in half with one side being my left breast, one being my right. The crease isn't central either. Its not quite as extreme but is the same issue some women suffer post implants when they're put in too close together. Sadly even if i had corrective surgery on this, it would likely fail or revert, so no point even attempting it.

That bring said, i wouldn't ever assume any other woman with differently sized or shaped breasts, or symmastia was unhappy with how her breasts are. I would absolutely NEVER comment on anyones body.

Bue · 14/05/2017 00:29

To all the 34 As on here, please get fitted for a bra! No one is a 34 A. I have fairly small breasts and I'm a 30D!

ddssdd · 14/05/2017 00:38

I have very large boobs and not overweight. I have grown to 'like' them as time has gone by. I was very insecure growing up, because of their size. I felt awkward.

YANBU.

Bodicea · 14/05/2017 07:10

Firstly just because you are busty does not mean you are overweight. I am a 30e and I am a size 10.
Secondly I suspect you are not a 34a. You need to need to do the boob or bust challenge. 34a is an odd size. It means that you are slightly above average size around the rib cage with absolutely no boobs whatsoever. Most people that are a 10/12 are a 30 or a 32. I might be wrong but, you don't say what size you are. but you say you are not overweight which is what makes me suspect this.

fanfrickintastic · 14/05/2017 07:21

YANBU to be happy with your body. I'm a b cup, but only because I'm breastfeeding . Id like bigger boobs though, as I'm pear shaped and no amount of weight loss would change that, but bigger boobs would.

It also royally pisses me off that people with small boobs can go bra-less. I can't, my nipples are permanently erect and my boobs have a naturally pointy shape to them, if I go bra-less clothes look really weird and it's very, very obvious. It's also uncomfortable.

fanfrickintastic · 14/05/2017 07:23

Bue in 'new' sizes I'm a 28ff, but that's a 32b old size!

lljkk · 14/05/2017 07:34

I have only ever been measured as 34D, measured the MN way or in Debenhams or M&S in the 1990s or in little indie bra shops since the 1980s. Some of us really do have a big rib cage. I could be 34A if I was flat-chested. My rib cage becomes 36-37, when I take a deep breath. I couldn't wear a 34 band when I was younger & used to eat a huge amount at one meal, either, or I got terrible indigestion.

Since old ladies shrink... will I need a 30-32 in 20 yrs time? I wonder!?

claraschu · 14/05/2017 07:39

I have a large ribcage and no tits to speak of. The smallest cup size is too big for me. I am most comfortable in very simple crop-top type sports bras. I am just mentioning this because people don't seem to think anyone has a large frame and no breasts.

I have always been fine with my breasts, and never wanted them bigger.

claraschu · 14/05/2017 07:46

Is anyone else irritated by the: "You must be jealous..." type comments? There are lots of things I don't want, which are generally considered desirable. I shut up about it most of the time in order to not annoy people, but I really really don't want these things.

Trifleorbust · 14/05/2017 07:48

This thread is everything that is wrong with female body image. Big or small, boobs are just boobs. They aren't 'better' or 'worse' than other boobs. I can't believe the number of people saying things like, they are happier with small boobs because it means they can do X... Don't speak for other ladies, who might well do X anyway with their big boobs. Let's all just back away from the boob comparisons!

Themoreitsnowstiddlypom · 14/05/2017 07:48

I too would not have a breast enlargement and on the whole can be fairly content with small (no) boobs, but I do get envious of those who are small but can still fill a bra. I used to hear that anything more than a handful is a waste, I don't have a handful, nor can I fill an AA cup I'm naturally a washboard, so sometimes when I hear A and B cups being small I sometimes get a pang frustration.

user1472377586 · 14/05/2017 07:51

Why has no-one mentioned that breastfeeding is so much easier with A cups?

MyFavouriteName · 14/05/2017 08:07

I love my big boobs. I don't care about anyone else's. I have never had a conversation with friends about them other than berating effects of pregnancy and age. Even then that is only comments about our own. I'd never comment on someone else's boobs. They're nothing to do with me.

haveacupoftea · 14/05/2017 08:10

I think you need new friends Confused I'm large chested and never ever comment on my friends bodies. How inappropriate!

Nineinchnails · 14/05/2017 08:14

Okay so what is the MN measuring thing then?? Last time I was measured was in M and S before BF two babies, I think they are probably actually smaller now than before BF. I'm a size 8 on top.

OP posts:
bananafish81 · 14/05/2017 08:18

I guarantee at a size 8 you will be a small back size

I'm an 8 - I went in the shop a 34B and came out a 28D

To measure at home:

thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.com/p/fitting-advice.html

bananafish81 · 14/05/2017 08:19

M&S are TERRIBLE for bra fitting

They do the thing of measuring you under the bust and adding either 4 or 5 depending on whether it's an odd or even number

So if you measure 28 under the bust, M&S will add 4 and tell you you're a 32

You're not. You're a 28.

M&S fitting is atrocious

Berrybakecake1 · 14/05/2017 08:27

I would love small boobs I'm a 38h and I would prefer to be a B/A everyone else in my family has small bobs apart from my sister and me she's a 44dd. We're also overweight.
I have never once said to anyone I bet you wish you could have some of mine to have bigger boobs. Even when growing and I was at a Dcup and relatively comfy.
I find big boobs a tract the wrong sort of attention and I sincerely hope DD does not have this problem.
In my ideal world it would be 'small boobs for everyone' .
Dp just said he wouldn't mind me either way as I'm not just a pair of boobs. Halo
