AIBU about the man on the bus?

He said I don't think you should sit there. I said said excuse me what are you on about? He said the bags are massive and take up the fly space.

Well that was it. I was so angry, it wasn't a big amount. How dare he say that to me. I shouted at him that he had really offended me and it backed off and sat in the flight seat.

Now I'm thinking about it I don't know AIBU?

It is bullying. She made a few comments that came across as a bit snappy. Some subsequent comments have led to 18 pages of hounding.

Weather"if you feel the thread is bullying then hit the report button and let mnhq decide. If the thread is upsetting you then hide it.

Flossy Moo, It's not upsetting me. I just think it's a shame that grown ups are acting the same way my key stage 2 class sometimes do. Actually they would probably have more understanding.

Weather in all honesty I dont think your protests on the thread will be heard. I have read it and bullying was not my first thought. You see it differently so hit report and allow mnhq to make that call but dont litter a very funny thread with your calls of bullying.

Flossy I can post in defense of someone if I want to. FWIW I have reported the thread and will leave it to MNHQ. However I'm not someone to stand back and 'watch' someone be hounded and belittled even if you are. I beg to differ about it being funny.

On the bus this morning I heard someone discussing this thread with (I assume) her partner. Neither of them knew what a fly space was but concluded flight seats were the foldy ones right at the front. Was so weird hearing someone discuss a thread I had read Grin

I think people were mainly taking the piss out of the post rather than the poster. I hope so, anyway. It was funny and did read like something you might write at midnight after a glass or two. If the OP is still reading, I hope she thinks she's inspired something quite funny and can have a laugh at herself as well. And ignore some of the posts which were directed more at her, rather than what she wrote.

If I were a detective, I would suspect an old time MN member that's changed her name, & was having fun with you all, my instincts tell me the perpetrator is a Portsmouth resident. By the way, the flight seat is the one that flies up when you stand up. Wink

I agree - but in retrospect I can see that the flurry of jokes and comments (to which I also contributed) that followed the OPs posts was unkind, even though I honestly don't think they were intended to be - it was just that many very witty people began to enjoy themselves (and entertain the rest of us) and TBH I think the OP got pretty much forgotten.

Must have been very frustrating forOP. (but she was being U)
