homeless, alcoholic,on benefits , two rounds of IVF and FOUR fertilised eggs implanted. honestly, I have checked and I do not have a big enough pair of judgey pants.

He already has three adult children , and says he wil give up alcohol "when the children come home." OMG.

I initially assumed it was about homeless people driving quads or something similar....

RicottaPancakes · 10/05/2017 23:49

It's a documentary.

Nanny0gg · 10/05/2017 23:59

What programme?

SkippyFox · 11/05/2017 00:25

Very, cute babies and the Mum clearly loves them to bits. There's not too much else positive to say. Hopefully the parents will get their act together.

user1493022461 · 11/05/2017 04:56

How C4 describes the programme:

Aynur and Tony are having quadruplets. With no home of their own, they move in with Aynur's supportive traditional Turkish parents, in this real-life modern British love story

WTF? Love story? Horror story more like it.

LaLegue · 11/05/2017 05:45

Ive only seen the trailer for this so far and I thought 'no, surely not? I must have got the wrong end of the stick about something.' But it's all for real. 😱

Where did you buy those very large judgey pants that still aren't quite big enough? Because I'm going to need a a pair even if I can only squeeze one leg into them. Will watch this on catch up.

SnugglyBedSocks · 11/05/2017 05:48

I watched half until I feel asleep.

I actually felt sorry for him as she seemed a bit unstable.

LaLegue · 11/05/2017 05:58

Wow, he's a shambling alkie and she's unstable? Like this could get any worse? I'm going to need a stiff drink to get through this one tonight.

Alfieisnoisy · 11/05/2017 06:20

I haven't watched it yet.

I would say that social services will definitely have been involved...maybe still are. Unless her parents are deemed a safe place and they are able to be the protective influence.

She won't have had those embryos implanted in the UK. Maximum of two allowed here so not sure where she went.

I feel pity for her and those children because he won't just be able to stop drinking ...and the drink will come first. A lot will depend upon the support she has from her wider family.

Mummyoflittledragon · 11/05/2017 06:54

Haven't seen it yet. Omg. Poor babies!

Mummyoflittledragon · 11/05/2017 06:56

Alcohol comes first for my brother and sil. Dumped their child on the grieving widow (my mother) and chronically ill me the day of my stepdads funeral.

Gallavich · 11/05/2017 07:12

I didn't think mum seemed unstable at all! A new mum to 4 babies with a useless partner - who wouldn't be stressed?

strawberrygate · 11/05/2017 07:27

Ellisandra I take it you don't like to believe some people are useless?

SailAwayWithMeHoney · 11/05/2017 07:34

Missed it but caught the trailers - she looks really worn out just in that. Initially I thought it was going to be a documentary about pensioner new-parents Blush

tigerskinrug · 11/05/2017 07:51

I assumed it was about people on benefits owning quad bikes, a bit like the goats on MN. Anyway, sounds interesting, will watch it on catch up.

expatinscotland · 11/05/2017 07:59

I turned it after 5 minutes. Thought, 'Who would give this guy the time of day, much less procreate with him?'

TheNaze73 · 11/05/2017 08:04

It was boring. I turned it off

user1489675144 · 11/05/2017 08:10

I watched this programme and was really angry with him and her. Bringing 4 babies into the world with no home. He had a small bedsit and she was living with parents. Why not get themselves a deposit saved up (oh wait he smoked 60 a day and had a alcohol problem that meant he was swigging from a can most of the day 0 apparently that was being good!). She thought having a baby/babies with him was a good idea! Cute babies, healthy and what a future for them all. Sad.

MythicalChicken · 11/05/2017 08:10

Yes, I thought 'quad' (as in bike) was the new 'flat screen TV' Grin !

Alfieisnoisy · 11/05/2017 08:15

strawberry it is far from an ideal start in life but I think it is a tad early to judge them as "useless". They may end up doing very well...he is the concern though. Am waiting to see if going cold turkey will end up with him going off on a bender at some point. Her parents are making no secret of the fact that they dislike him.

She and the parents are the stable influence. ...however they don't let him get a word in edgeways. Difficult for him to be under their roof

nursy1 · 11/05/2017 08:19

This just sounds really improbable.
My stepdaughter - stable home with same sex partner. Both good salaries, refused IVF and paid for several cycles themselves.
As far as I know they only implant 2 embryos max.

Alfieisnoisy · 11/05/2017 08:21

Yep...and he's just had a can of lager. THAT will be a problem because it will always come first. Hopefully she will remain with her parents and at least the children will have a roof over their heads.

lol that's Hardly surprising - WinkI think anyone would with quads - the pregnancy and the babies must be exhausting.

The babies looked healthy and happy - I suspect between the Mum and her Mum and Dad they do quite well -

JaneEyre70 · 11/05/2017 08:33

How lovely and kind of him to provide the state with 7 children to financially support as well as himself. I had to turn it over, it made me rage. What hope do those children have? Sad
