Come out, come out wherever you are!
I know it will mean you will be attacked and preached at, you will be told you are rich, uncaring and hate everyone except yourself, but will anyone stand with me and admit to planning on voting Conservative on June 8?
I can't be the only one surely? I didn't vote the Conservatives in by myself in 2015!

I'm voting lib dem, my seat swing from lib dem to labour in the last election so hopeful we can swing it back.

Huldra · 06/05/2017 20:31

lib dem

JanetBrown2015 · 06/05/2017 20:31

There are loads of Conservatives on mumsnet. I don't think we've been shy in coming forward. I am constantly saying vote conservative.

I want all mumsnetters to vote - those who have the vote however whatever their views. Don't just say there's no point - vote, even if it's against my suggestion of voting May above. Do get out there and vote.

Ther eis more vitriol against the Tories on MN but that is always the case - the left are like that. They sometimes seem to think they are the only party who cares about people and yet the oly way to run a country properly is to pay your way just like in any family and most mumsnetters know at heart that the Tories are actually the more caring party. You don't care for your child by giving it all the sweets today so that before pay day you are on bread and water only. The better care is to ensure there is money left for a rainy day - the caring Tory way.

Also the left are a bit upset as it is probably likely they will be routed completely in June. Don't assume so though. Do get out there and vote as we need every vote.

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 06/05/2017 20:32

There seems a suspicious nunber if posters shoehorning in about JC and anti semitism today. Youd almost think they were plants.

HelenaDove · 06/05/2017 20:33

Only 30% of ppl voted in the local ones Why do more people just not bother?

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 06/05/2017 20:33

Janetbrown what a load of patronising tosh.

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 06/05/2017 20:34

They havent ensured it very well over the last 7 years.

ConstantCraving · 06/05/2017 20:34

Why would anyone vote conservative?? Don't you care about the NHS? or the public sector?? Don't you care about people with disabilities? Seriously do not understand.

DesdemonasHandkerchief · 06/05/2017 20:34

I wish I could vote for a Con/Lib coalition - I liked the fact that the Lib Dems reined in the nastier Con policies, but I can't vote for that Hmm Can't stand our local Tory MP, who has a massive majority anyway., not sure where my X will go but it definitely won't be next to Labour.

Olddear · 06/05/2017 20:35

Conservative.

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 06/05/2017 20:35

Also all the people mocking Diane Abbott.

Errr Boris Johnson as foreign secretary?

reuset · 06/05/2017 20:35

Very amusing, Janet Grin

HappyFlappy · 06/05/2017 20:35

Jeremy Corbin is a misogynistic anti-semite

^ and if he really valued the Labour Party he would resign as leader - because they'll never get in while he is in charge (i use the term loosely).

His election as leader was the death knell forLabour.

user1493759849 · 06/05/2017 20:35

Is this some kind of spoof thread?

This should read, 'seriously does anyone actually not want TORY to win!'

Anyone voting for Labour would have to have rocks in their head. They are a joke. And I won't vote for ANY party with Diane Abbott at the helm; vile woman.

Tories will win. The only thing I am wondering, is by how much.

And yeah MAY being leader swung it for me too. I am voting for her, even though I have always voted for Labour.

What's amusing me, is how incensed some left wing people are getting when they discover you are a former Labour voter and you have turned to the DARK SIDE! Grin I have had about half a dozen posters (inlc one by PM,) demanding to know why I am voting Tory, and to name 3 of their policies I agree with. I don't know who they think they are, or why they think they can demand I explain my stance. It's quite funny to see them having a paddy! Grin

ilovesooty · 06/05/2017 20:36

Monkey of course it is. Hmm

HelenaDove · 06/05/2017 20:36

DH is a disabled pensioner. They are also now being transferred from DLA to PIP.

Frankiestein401 · 06/05/2017 20:37

Anyone remember austerity - if it worked wouldn't the tories be shouting about it? If it didn't wouldn't everyone else be shouting about it? The 4 main banks last yr had close to 4bn in their bonus pot - anyone believe 20% of that went to the taxman - let alone 40%?

Why can't we have a party that expects the banks to pay back the money that was used to save them? Why not a party that is willing to spend the eu average on the NHS?

We keep hearing that the city is going to get hit/move jobs with a hard brexit - what's the problem with that - the city hasn't paid its debts and when it gets into trouble again who's going to feel austerity#2 not the traders.

rogueantimatter · 06/05/2017 20:38

According to Evan Davis, DC and co carried out Ed Miliband's policies.

There was a woman on his programme recently who said that the tories obsession with getting the deficit down is misguided as the level of personal debt has grown massively and this will be very bad for the economy in the future. Better to invest in key infrastructure and projects to support the economy than to keep taking money out of people's pockets.

Labour at least claims to want to tackle the housing problem.

I see no evidence that the cons are any better at anything than the other parties. They don't seem to have any stated policies for a start. How can TM be trusted when she categorically stated there would be no snap election and ruthlessly manouvered her way into power?

As for their 'policy' for dealing with urban pollution - what a joke - telling the councils to deal with it. Nice.

DJBaggySmalls · 06/05/2017 20:38

Shocking how many very wealthy MNers there are who have enough money saved to see them through any one of lifes potential disasters and so can vote Tory. Hurrah for you.

ForalltheSaints · 06/05/2017 20:39

I do not want either of the two main parties to have a majority on June 8th. I'd like a large number of Green, Lib Dem and smaller parties (not UKIP) to hold the balance of power, so that sense will prevail.

Whatawaytomakealiving · 06/05/2017 20:39

Couldn't vote Tory due to the mess they have made and continue to make if our education system. Complete disregard for children.

KitKat1985 · 06/05/2017 20:39

I'm a nurse and have therefore seen first hand that the tories have utterly devastated the NHS these past few years, not to mention ruined the social care system to such an extent that it's really difficult for us to discharge people anymore as there isn't an appropriate level of post-discharge care available for so many people. Sadly I'm in a very 'true blue' part of the world and people seem to not see the connection with how they vote and the consequences like not being able to get a GP appointment, or the long wait for the procedure they need or the lack of social care support for their loved one.

I do agree though that neither Labour or the Lib Dems are proving a very credible opposition right now. But still, I'd take either of them over the Conservatives. In my area I'm making a tactical vote for the Lib Dems as Labour have no chance where I am.

flippinada · 06/05/2017 20:41

Thanks Helena, back at you Flowers.

BigGrannyPants · 06/05/2017 20:44

@cathf I will be voting SNP on the 8th June. If I lived in England I would really really struggle but I can categorically say I would not and will not ever vote conservative. That doesn't mean that labour would get my vote. I suppose I would've spent more time looking at the other parties. I think Scotland are extremely lucky to have the SNP but I know not everyone shares that opinion!

JaneEyre70 · 06/05/2017 20:45

I think Theresa May is fantastic.....an amazing female leader and someone we should all be really proud of. She's tough but compassionate and I can't understand why more women aren't behind her.
