Come out, come out wherever you are!
I know it will mean you will be attacked and preached at, you will be told you are rich, uncaring and hate everyone except yourself, but will anyone stand with me and admit to planning on voting Conservative on June 8?
I can't be the only one surely? I didn't vote the Conservatives in by myself in 2015!

I'm sorry - but 'austerity' was never about balancing the books (and lets not forget there was a GLOBAL recession - Labour didn't actually trigger that), it was and is an opportunity to push Tory ideology - to privatise the NHS and to decimate the public sector. All of which is fine if you have enough money for private healthcare, private education and private care for the elderly in your family... no wonder Trump and Teresa were holding hands. They seem to have the same priorities.

TinselTwins · 06/05/2017 21:08

I think I'll be voting Lib Dem, on the basis that while they won't win, I think they'd make a better opposition party than Labour currently is

I agree. Lib Dems are a wasted vote in my area but they're the only ones I feel I can put my name to. I'ld like to see them in opposition, they are sensible. Labour just bitch and lie

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 06/05/2017 21:08

I dont know someone like this user. Genuinely.

HelenaDove · 06/05/2017 21:08

Yes because BUPA will send an ambulance if you are in an RTA.

TinselTwins · 06/05/2017 21:10

I don't know anyone faking disability either
but, I also don't think that labour are a good alternative to the bastard Torys

Torys being bad doesn't magically make labour good. They're both shit

rogueantimatter · 06/05/2017 21:10

Constant YES - everyone seems to have forgotten about the banking crisis.

SlothMama · 06/05/2017 21:11

I refuse to vote for Lib Dems after they were spineless and gave up on their promise about student loans.
Labour are great at promising things but with little proof on how they can afford them without putting the country into masses of debt.

My votes with Conservative I feel like it's the best out of a bad bunch unless I want to waste my vote

derxa · 06/05/2017 21:11

I heard an ecologist claim that if we don't change our farming practices there will only be 60 more harvests left because of the loss of topsoil.
I'm a sheep farmer so it doesn't apply to me. Have you heard of the Golden Hoof?

CatherineMaitland · 06/05/2017 21:12

I'll be voting Lib Dem as I like their pro-Europe stance as well as the general trend of their policies.

I'm an ex-Labourite, and I don't think I could ever vote for the Tories having lived through the recent history of the 80s/coalition/Cameron years - but I don't think I can vote for Corbyn's Labour either. I just don't think that, even if he is elected, he will be able to help the people he wants to help in a sustainable way. He's an incompetent leader and bad at picking a team, and he doesn't create a feeling of trust on the economy, which Labour badly needs to do. By making Labour unelectable, he's actively creating further damage and allowing May a free hand. His selfishness in staying as leader is unforgivable to me.

Generally speaking the left needs to realise that we are the ones out of step with the majority - anything else is just wishful thinking. At some point we are going to have reckon with that, try to actually win an election, and make some compromises. I just wish we'd bloody get on with it and stop wasting all this time.

milliemolliemou · 06/05/2017 21:12

I live in part of the country where no opposition vote matters so after the GE I will be pushing for proportional voting - and mandatory voting as they do in Australia. It could make a significant difference.

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 06/05/2017 21:13

My child cant speak because the cuts and austerity have reduced funding to her school so much she gets no speech therapy.

Befire she started 6 years ago the kids at her school got speech therapy.

I genuinely believe she could have had a very different life.

And people wonder why people get worked up about smug Tory voters and gloating threads like this.

indigox · 06/05/2017 21:15

I'm not voting Labour, they're incapable of running a country.

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 06/05/2017 21:15

The cuts and austerity that have achieved NOTHING.

derxa · 06/05/2017 21:15

Theresa May compassionate? i don't think people care about compassionate at the moment. DH thinks this is the last nail in the coffin of the British Empire. Scotland will leave the Union Aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh

ConstantCraving · 06/05/2017 21:16

I find the majority pretty bloody depressing right now. I don't recognise my country and it saddens me. The comments on this thread about people with disabilities 'swinging the lead' say it all. But then these things matter to me. I work in the public sector, so does DH (who also happens to be an EU citizen) and my child has ASD - so yes, I'm happy to be 'out of step' with the majority.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 06/05/2017 21:18

Why on Earth would I be voting for Corbyn and his labour party?

And have you seen the utter joke that is Dianne Abbott?

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 06/05/2017 21:19

And boris Johnson?

Frillyhorseyknickers · 06/05/2017 21:19

I heard an ecologist claim that if we don't change our farming practices there will only be 60 more harvests left because of the loss of topsoil.

I've heard ecologists claiming all kinds of shit.

We're arable and we're in the grain belt of the country. There are certainly areas of this country where the topsoil depth is an issue - but it's been an issue since the last ice age...

Mum2jenny · 06/05/2017 21:20

Definitely Conservative, but I do not like Theresa May. But there is no real alternative.

Mummyoflittledragon · 06/05/2017 21:22

And Boris Johnson

Complete buffoon. Are you trying to give me rage?

Whatawaytomakealiving · 06/05/2017 21:23

Themonkey, thank goodness for you, the only one worried about our children.
Th education system is a complete mess. Funding, assessment, school places, small schools, school closures including those in rural areas, failing schools with no academy sponsor to step in, massive wages of academy CEO's, running down of LA's, retention and recruitment of staff, curriculum inappropriate for children, testing, support services, Ofsted framework and political intervention. Horrific.

Surprised more of you aren't concerned about your child's future.

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 06/05/2017 21:24

Yes. People banging on about Diane Abbott and blithely ignoring the arse that is BoJo deserve the rage.

Adelie0404 · 06/05/2017 21:25

I would never vote conservative and I am well-off. Brexit is not the only problem. I work in the NHS and they are ruining it. I like most doctors, despise Jeremy Hunt. Social care is a disaster on a horrific and monstrous scale. I have patients who really don't want to be in hospital but are not fit to be alone at home and there is no care out there for them that social services can find. It is awful. Poor people.
Education - give me strength. How about considering the evidence and education experts? May just ignores.
The Tories lie so much. Everyone in the cabinet is a over-privileged tosser who lives in their own rarefied world - they don't give a toss about us.
Why can't a politician ever answer a question with honesty. Not blaming their predecessors which is all they ever do, but saying yes I recognise the problem and this is what we can do about it. I'm not saying I think JC or anyone else has a hope in hell. I will vote tactically which here will be LD.
And I care that people are suffering and needing to go to food banks.
And yes I would pay more tax.

If you vote Conservative, I would say many of you are turkeys voting for Christmas.

Whereas I am just a bleeding lefty, obviously!

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 06/05/2017 21:25

Sorry, Dianne wins by miles.

TheMonkeyandthePlywoodViolin · 06/05/2017 21:25

And yes those ignoring the state of the NHS education system UNDER TORY RULE
