To wear no bra (nipple issues)

MrsFloppy · 05/05/2017 19:52

So many of my nice summer tops and dresses just can't be worn with a bra.

Unfortunately since having ds and breastfeeding for 3.5 years my nipples are like sodding bullets.

Last year I tried using those silicone stick on things but had a couple of very embarrassing incidents where they fell out of my dress in public. Blush

Dh says 'fuck it, who cares if people can see your nipples?' and I don't give two shits if I notice another woman's but I do feel uncomfortable when the odd person gives me filthy looks.

Do I need to buy a whole new wardrobe, not give a fuck or has anyone else got any tricks they use?

It's a bit ironic really seeing as 3.5 years of breastfeeding means they've been out a hell of a lot, not sure why I'm all Prussian about the nips! Grin

how about using see-through straps on your bra?

So a bra strap is tacky but bullet nipples are A-Ok? Hmm

People have given you options for the 2nd (honestly, who - who? - gives fuck) and 3rd (which are basically sticky tape based).

So I'm going to advise the 1st. Your summer wardrobe may be delicious. But you can't wear backless anymore. Deal with it Grin

chitofftheshovel · 06/05/2017 03:22

psolomon my nipples wondered off the other day, they were out of control and somebody really should have stopped them. So, if anyone sees a pair of nipples rolling down a street could you let me know. Even better if you could restrain the little blighters in the confines of a bra until I can come over and wrestle control back. Thanks.

Flowerydems · 06/05/2017 03:30

If I could go without a bra without my boobs hitting the floor I would nipples or no nipples. Oh to be able to wear a strappy top

shakingmyhead1 · 06/05/2017 05:08

I havent RTFT but you could put band aids over your nipples and maybe use boob tape if you want a little lift maybe

BusterGonad · 06/05/2017 05:19

Your a double D and you don't need a bra! Talk about a stealth boost! 😂 I'm not a lover of obvious nipples.
No1 I've got big boobs that get enough looks let alone if I had big nipples sticking out and No2 I personally think it looks a bit Jordan page 3 girlish. That of course is just my opinion!

TheKrakenSmith · 06/05/2017 05:43

Some of my smaller busted friends wead scarves as bras, wrapped like a bandeau in coordinating colours to their dresses. It looks really cool, and you could fold x number of times to get the coverage you want.

shakingmyhead1 · 06/05/2017 06:16

you can get clear plastic straps that you can replace your regular straps with, i do this ( im a E cup) also you can get strapless bras for our size, try triumph, bierlei ( not sure of spelling) and fayreform, they make good strong bras for our sizes and they do a good range of strapless and backless styles, or use band aids on the nipple and boob tape or as kim kardashian does use masking tape, might be some youtube that show you where and how to apply for all sorts of dress styles ( oh and once you get your sizing right in those 3 bra companies, usually any style will fit right)

Unless the top is see through and you can actually see the actual colour of your nipples rick in and go bra less.

I mean if you can only see outline shape of nipples.

I could not be in the slightest bothered if I see an out line of a nipple.

Actually, I wouldn't give a fuck if it was actual nipple colour of shape et al but I'm remarkably unbothered by what other people do clothes wise

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 06/05/2017 06:56

If it helps with the cries of "casual sexism" that are being bandied around the thread, I don't want to see anybody's nipples, male or female.

Why is it sexist to not want to see nipples?

SueGeneris · 06/05/2017 07:01

Bit faffy maybe but can you get some appropriate (ie thick enough) fabric and sew it into the relevant tops/dresses to reinforce the bust? Or invert the stick on bra cups and stick them to the dress (no idea if that's possible).

Chinnygirl · 06/05/2017 07:03

Only I don't like to see knees but nobody seems to mind or has a wish to please me and put them away me in summer. I also hate the site of armpit hair on men as well and shirtless men even if it is a zillion degrees.

Come on people, they are nipples, every person in the world has them. They are not offensive.

ifeelcraptonight · 06/05/2017 07:05

Why do people care so much! It's a nipple.

Men take their tops off all the time and wander round nipples out.

TheFifthKey · 06/05/2017 07:07

DD is not necessarily that big - I have D cup bras and can easily go braless

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 06/05/2017 07:07

If youre happy braless, then go braless. Otherwise I'd go to John Lewis/Debenhams/bravissimo with your most awkward tops and challenge them to find a suitable bra.

MrsKoala · 06/05/2017 07:14

I have something similar, but because i can only feed from one side i have 1 really prominent nipple and one inverted. So i am unsymmetrical. My bust is so small i don't need a bra and i have never found a strapless that fits. i did try a stick on one but it really showed thru because the shape of the cup was all wrong.

I may get a stick on nipple like that sex and the city episode. If mine were both the same id let them run free, unfettered, assaulting peoples minds with their filthiness. Grin

ifeelcraptonight · 06/05/2017 07:24

I have pierced nipples. Rings as it happens.

I'm going to go braless and if people aren't offended I'll be upset 😀😂

BusterGonad · 06/05/2017 07:24

I'm not offended by nipples but I just don't think it looks that nice when they are obviously sticking out through tops. I would never mention it to the person with the exposed nipples, I also wouldn't like to see a man walking around with leggings on showing off the outline of his penis and balls. It's all a bit too much information about that persons body that I didn't want to know. I don't like seeing people's bottoms through see through leggings either but we all live with it without being outraged it's just if I had the choice I'd rather not see it.

Bodear · 06/05/2017 07:29

Another vote for let your nipples do their thing. You're not planning on going topless so who cares!
If you want to investigate decent strapless bras (I know that it's not an option for some of your clothes) then the wonderbra strapless is amazing. I have skied in that bad boy and it did not budge.

ArseyTussle · 06/05/2017 07:31

I've never been to Maine, but I rather fancy it now, what with all the extra-marital hoo hah and flagrant nipple wagging.

OP, I think the scarf bra idea is the best one, or nowt if you'd prefer that.

I get it that size DD isn't actually enormous, but don't they kind of bounce around a lot? I've been trussed up in bras so long I'd find that most discombobulating.

MrsKoala · 06/05/2017 07:31

I would never mention it to the person with the exposed nipples

i'm really laughing at this for some reason. Of course no one would, would they? I mean, what would that conversation look like? Grin Grin

BusterGonad · 06/05/2017 07:41

I know MrsK but I was just waiting for someone to accuse me of such a thing if I didn't put that in my post. If you have an opinion about something then people start to think that you practically have it written on your forehead and tell the world that you disapprove! 😂
