Even when my life is a tad on the challenging side, I know that they're there if I really look hard.
This morning's was watching my 10yo DD cycling to school, going her fastest to catch up with her best friend. Her energy & enthusiasm were a joy to behold! It was so simple; it's a moment I'll cherish.
So, AIBU to ask you to share yours? Big or small, fancy or simple!

I have so many little moments every day.Finding my favourite Killers song "Smile like you mean it" in the glove compartment of my car this morning and pumping it up loud on the way to work.

DS2 (3) who is often a little horror asked if we needed to by flowers when we were at the supermarket. I said no as I bought some yesterday but he said "oh but I want to buy some for X's mummy" X being DS1's school friend.
So X's mummy, you will have a nice surprise on the school run shortly FlowersGrin

Batgirlspants That made me well up.

Small moments of joy include;

  • a giggle with my sister while linking arms walking around town
  • tickling the tummy of a friend's puppy (before it peed on me)
  • seeing the look of pure pleasure on my elderly cat's face as I gently brush her head
  • seeing all the blossom trees in full bloom
  • the muscly, tanned arms of a man in my local DIY store Blush

yetanotherdeskmove - I'm intrigued. Does the nice mummy's name start with L? There was a bunch of flowers at our school run today which is very unusual.

Just a few of my joy bubbles this week have been:

  • Opening the door when DS1 and DS2 (5 and 3) get home from the park with the helper after school and being presented with a bunch of frangipani flowers from DS1 and a rock from DS2 and beautiful smiling dirty faces from running in the sand.
  • Discovering a fish curry recipe that I was wary of trying, attempting it and it tasting incredible.
  • Being 5 days of no alcohol so waking up in the morning with a fresh head and not groggy.
  • Looking forward to cooking butterflied chicken stuffed with garlic and herb cheese, wrapped in bacon with roast potatoes for dinner tonight.
  • Friday night is family movie night so will pick up some popcorn for the little ones after we've been in the pool after work.

Happy Friday gentle people!

My friend has cp. He bought his own house last year but was made redundant last month. He has just got a job with a market leader company on more money.

He thought he would lose his house as it took him three years to get the last job. Now he has a better job and a chunk of redundancy money in the bank. He is such a lovely, strong, inspiring person I am massively chuffed for him. Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke.

littleshoutymouse · 05/05/2017 19:16

My just turned 2 yeah old pointing to herself and saying "Me ah chatterbox!" It was just the cutest thing, and being cripplingly shy as a child myself I'm so proud of my noisy, confident little chatterbox!

My wonderful DP has a job offer. I'm so proud of him as he's had to start completely from scratch as he can longer work in the industry he trained for but after nearly 4 months of hard work and me making ends meet there is light! Have treated him to gin to celebrate

rustyrivets1 · 05/05/2017 19:23

My ds sitting in trolley ehkmst doing the shopping said mummy I said yes and he said I love you. Melts me.

Ds face last week when we took him swimming pure joy.

Waking up d's this morning and he opened his eyes looked and me and smiled and said I love seeing your face mummy. My little love bug

Kangamum · 05/05/2017 19:25

Just got home from a long day at work, and the happiness on my 18month old daughter's face and the kisses and cuddles when I came in are absolutely everything.

pinkhousesarebest · 05/05/2017 19:28

I just helped my 90 year old neighbour with his tractor which had broken down outside our house. As a reward he let us see his day old Haflinger foal and her mum. Just divine.

MrsFloppy · 05/05/2017 20:41

Some of these have made me all 😭

LittleWingSoul · 05/05/2017 20:47

Dropping off my DD8 at her first ever cubs camping weekend today. Arkayla told DD on Tuesday that they'll do her initiation ceremony over the weekend to "make it a special memory" for her. I don't know who is more excited, me or DD!

Ikillallplants · 05/05/2017 21:04

OffcialMalbecTaster congratulations to your husband and your family. The only way is up.

MrsGotobed · 05/05/2017 21:09

The first moment of joy that sprung to mind was purely selfish ..... when I finished work tonight knowing that DD's Friday night sports club wasn't running hence avoiding getting home, hurried dinner, getting her there and then picking her up at 8.30. Instead it was get home and drink wine relax.

DontPullThatTubeOut · 05/05/2017 21:13

When my daughter didn't scream her head off when I passed her tube and just sort of whinged a bit, that hasn't happened again since. Watching my three year old get the best giggles off her sister and carrying on for ages just to make her smile.

Crikeyblimey · 05/05/2017 21:22

This is a lovely thread. I'm feeling a bit low cos old cat is v poorly but -

Ds was awarded 'player's player of the year' last night at his rugby club presentation dinner! He was so chuffed and I am so proud of him!

GriseldaChop · 05/05/2017 21:23

I've had a couple the past few days. Today, pushing my 3 year old on the swing at the beach and he started singing his own little version of 'You are my sunshine', bath time tonight he was squirting water onto the bath side and laughed so hard he gave himself hiccups! And on a more materialistic note a little unexpected payment from work (which I've just left) for salary arrears. Life is good!

Baybay16 · 05/05/2017 21:40

I spent my day off this morning with my lovely mam celebrating her birthday. My new rescue dog loves her and cuddled for for ages before we went to lunch.
In this afternoon my dp ended up having afternoon off due to a job interview and when we got home at 5pm we did something a bit random went to bed for a nap- heaven. We are now up and he is making enchiladas, my favourite Halo
A day full of joyful things
I absolutely love this thread it's made me feel so happy, hope everyone keeps adding their moments x

pumpkin321 · 05/05/2017 21:47

Our toddler has learned to say 'I love you'. She pronounces it 'I luff you mummy' in such a sincere voice with big serious eyes, as if she understands the importance. So cute Smile

Pixilicious · 05/05/2017 22:28

Having a soap foam fight with my 5 year old DD tonight. Pure joy and giggles and mess. Not something we do that often.

yetanotherdeskmove · 06/05/2017 09:43

MrsHathaway no it doesn't. How nice though!
