Even when my life is a tad on the challenging side, I know that they're there if I really look hard.
This morning's was watching my 10yo DD cycling to school, going her fastest to catch up with her best friend. Her energy & enthusiasm were a joy to behold! It was so simple; it's a moment I'll cherish.
So, AIBU to ask you to share yours? Big or small, fancy or simple!

A walk in the forest and a visit to some Standing Stones

One of my most favourite things to do, I need to feel the energy that emanates from the Stones

Knowing that I only have two more shifts to do, then I'm on holiday Smile

My late-morning boiled egg was perfectly soft-boiled. (I often forget it's on the stove and it goes hard, which is fine, but soft-boiled is what I aim for,)

VacantExpression · 04/05/2017 11:35

Yesterday..

watching my dog spring around in the long grass only seeing her ears now and again

kissing my daughter last night when I went to bed and tucking her legs back in and she said "mama you the best"

this morning- I made myself a coffee that was just right. Its not everytime I get the balance of coffee milk and sugar totally right and sip it at just the right temperature. Lush.

CesareBorgiasUnicornMask · 04/05/2017 11:36

DS waking me up by kissing my face this morning.

The fact I've finished my last practical exam this year and am currently on the train home - planning on waking DH up after his night shift then spending the afternoon with him in the pub playing board games before getting DS from nursery and going for ice-cream. One more written exam to do next week then I start a year's maternity leave and I'm SO EXCITED!

newmumwithquestions · 04/05/2017 11:38

Woke my toddler up for nursery this morning. Hate waking her as I think if she's having a longer sleep it's because she needs it, also she's generally very very grumpy if woken. She rolled over with a big beaming smile to see me and raised her arms for a cuddle.

Throwing a nice green apple from hand to hand Grin

MrsCobain · 04/05/2017 11:40

On the beach last night there was a weird rainbow cloud. And a rainbow above it. Even ds who never pauses for breath sat and looked at it for 5 minutes and didn't talk.

MorrisZapp · 04/05/2017 11:42

The maintenance guy rang my office line by accident and asked for Steve. I said you've just missed him. Never mind he said, you've got a sexier voice!!! It was my Gavin and Stacey moment :)

I've been disproportionately thrilled all week.

BillyButtfuck · 04/05/2017 11:42

My twins have very recently started walking and last night the little shits monkeys took their own nappies off and were running around the house butt naked laughing their heads off. It was really naughty but so cute and hilarious. It made a really bad week seem fine again to see the pure happiness and cheekiness in their faces.

Funnyonion17 · 04/05/2017 11:43

I love posts like this! Happiness is definitely in the moments, rather then a permanent state to be chased.

Mine was yesterday, seeing my DS so happy and jumping and waving because i had given him some independence and let him walk 5 minutes ahead of me. I'm so slow atm due to being 37 weeks pregnant, by the time i caught him up he must have been waiting a while. He was excited I'd given him a chance bless him.

witsender · 04/05/2017 11:45

My son mastering bike riding on his first day and being so proud of himself. He isn't very confident and didn't think he would be able to, so his little face was a joy to watch.

Seeing the look on the kids faces as the midwife found a heartbeat for #3 with a Doppler, sheer amazement.

MatadorBowerBird · 04/05/2017 11:45

Family cuddles and daft game of "Guess what animals we are?" with DC before getting up for school/work this morning.

My pal Mr B the blackbird visiting our balcony during my coffee break.

Janeinthemiddle · 04/05/2017 12:58

I was walking behind my DH who was chatting away with his friend and I just thought of how lucky I am that he is such a smart guy from the conversation he is having and so good looking too lol

HorraceTheOtter · 04/05/2017 13:00

Nothing at all. I'm giving up on life for the next few months.

Batgirlspants · 04/05/2017 13:01

This thread is making me cry

TootsyBella84 · 04/05/2017 13:04

After going through 2 missed miscarriages since last summer, I had a scan on Tuesday to show a little prawn with a little heartbeat ❤️

BillyButtfuck · 04/05/2017 13:07

Congratulations and best of luck to you TootsyFlowers

The cat sashaying past me instead of running in that fuckfuckfuckfuck way she does normally (suspect she was kicked in the past).

Clearing all the track changes in a piece of work to discover that, in actual fact, all the changes were pretty much a re-ordering of paragraphs, with the occasional twiddle and tweak. My old boss used to re-write my stuff to the point I used to wonder what the point was.

Now REAL joy will be finding my mobile, which I put down somewhere on Friday while slightly distracted not entirely sober and it's on silent, so I can't even ring it.

But OP, thanks for starting this thread. It's just what we need.

EBearhug · 04/05/2017 13:13

The lilies of the valley which are just coming into flower in my garden. It's the first year, after about two decades of trying, that they've come back for another year, let alone flower.

MatildaTheCat · 04/05/2017 13:24

My 8year old dog walking with his two best girlfriends today and going crazy playing whilst grinning and laughing his head off. Girlfriend Number One had rolled in fox poo angry friend and it sent him wild with joy Grin.

Angelicinnocent · 04/05/2017 13:36

Realised that my DC are actually nice people who I would like even if they weren't mine.

Launderetta · 04/05/2017 13:47

Thank you SO MUCH for sharing these, it's a joy in itself to read all your beautiful & simple moments & to celebrate life together.

If you're not having such a good day & can't find a moment to share, I hope that some of these bring a smile to your face today.

Flowers to you all

I have just been tending to the tomato plants and they left my hands smelling just like my grannies green house circa 1985. Glorious.

Dumbo412 · 04/05/2017 13:51

My daughter is 9, we've tried to teach her to swim since she was 3, she's had private swimming lessons, lessons with the school and we have tried to teach her. We've spent countless hours trying to get her to learn.
This week she finally managed her first length of the pool.
Feels like a massive accomplishment. My heart skipped a beat I was so happy!
