Even when my life is a tad on the challenging side, I know that they're there if I really look hard.
This morning's was watching my 10yo DD cycling to school, going her fastest to catch up with her best friend. Her energy & enthusiasm were a joy to behold! It was so simple; it's a moment I'll cherish.
So, AIBU to ask you to share yours? Big or small, fancy or simple!

Flowers nice thread OP. My husband cracked a joke yesterday, and burst into silly giggles. He's on two types of depression medication after a massive breakdown earlier this year, and it finally feels like we're seeing a little light at the end of the tunnel.

Thank you yertiz

GVmama · 04/05/2017 19:41

We have a new c ocker spaniel puppy, her huge ears flopping up and down when she runs is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. Nearly makes up for all the puddles and nipping!!

EastMidsGPs · 04/05/2017 19:44

Today was supposed to be at meeting all afternoon. It took less than an hour, so went to local nature reserve sat in the sunshine with roast vegetables sandwich and a really decent coffee. Turned phone off and the ducks and new ducklings
Don't feel guilty at all, it was blue sky thinking time Wink

Listening to my DD on the piano playing canon in D with such enthusiasm & joy. I had to sit & just enjoy the moment. I love it when she plays.

Twiggy71 · 04/05/2017 19:49

Closing my eyes and holding my head up to catch the glorious sun we've had today.

Watching the children I work with playing on the grass trying to trip each other up and having great fun.

Enjoying a day out with my mum on bank holiday Monday and appreciating how lucky I am to have her as she's the best mum ever

Found out that mil who has sever dementia also has cancer, but I watched as my 3dd and 1ds all comforted each other. The usually argue most of the time.

OhHolyFuck · 04/05/2017 19:53

I love this thread - ds2 is being so very trying ATM and as a lp, it's really been wearing me down, this thread has been a perfect tonic

BlueChairs · 04/05/2017 19:59

I found a slim fit shirt that suits me - finally! I felt like a real professional woman.

Oliack1417 · 04/05/2017 19:59

Mine was yesterday, looking down at little 12 week old DS's face in the pram. We were in M&S and I picked up a fluffy elephant, almost as big as him, and gave it to him. He was so happy! We bought it and he didn't let go of it all afternoon! He loves fluffy things Grin

TheBadgersMadeMeDoIt · 04/05/2017 21:47

Went to the dentist today.

I know - nothing much to be joyful about. But it was an excuse for a ten minute lie-down in the middle of the afternoon. I couldn't have been happier if it was a spa day!

BlueChairs · 04/05/2017 22:45

Also, after 6 years of having exams fall on my birthday, so always either celebrating in June lumped onto someone else's birthday or not at all - I have friends who aren't studying ( sadly not BestF or DP) but really amazing new friends who have organised a birthday lunch and a night out after work for my 22nd !
So grateful to have found my people, even though I'm moving away soon they are investing in my life xxx

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 04/05/2017 22:47

What a lovely thread. Actually just reading through it has given me one of those moments of joys itself.

Other things are

  • my three year old telling me I was a lovely daffodil when I gave him his bath tonight.
  • my baby girl saying "mama" and holding out her arms to me every morning this week as I went into her nursery.
  • smelling the pot of basil on my kitchen windowsill. It reminds me of childhood summers and my grandfather's allotment.
  • watching my beautiful dog hurtle around the park, full of happiness and life.

And a very special one

  • seeing my third unborn child for the first time at the dating scan this week.

Seeing the boys happy as their spiny things came in the post... I had a few hours peace...

Wineloffa · 04/05/2017 22:49

Watching DS at his swimming lesson today. He's come on so much in 6 weeks, my heart was bursting with pride:)

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 04/05/2017 22:52

Went to the polling station to vote with my 18 yr old son for the first ever time after having discussed our shared political viewpoints for years - but him always too young to vote. And he drove!

Littlecaf · 04/05/2017 23:04

We have blue tits nesting in the nesting box in the garden
Going to an exhibition during lunch break at work today with lovely colleagues
First day of 'baby on board' badge and someone gave up their seat immediately.
DP upgrading and paying for a suite in posh hotel this weekend. Toddler going to GPs. (He loves it, they spoil him rotten!)

DisorderedAllsorts · 04/05/2017 23:10

DD tidied her room, read her book & got ready for bed and is still asleep in her own bed. Woopee! Although I suspect she's hoping for a reward......

poorpaws · 04/05/2017 23:17

Watching Mr and Mrs Coot swim across the lake to me, take lots of the duck food I'd thrown to them, filling their beaks to the max and swimming back across the lake to feed their six babies. They made the journey many times and each time managed to get more food in their beaks than the time before. Magical! 😀

Kidakidder · 04/05/2017 23:20

I had a bit of surgery today and was nil by mouth from midnight last night, and afterwards DH made me a ham and pickle butty and it was the best butty ever.

mycavitiesareempty · 04/05/2017 23:22

My colleague told me today: "everyone loves you !" And meant it. And I trust her not to be making it up. Little old socially awkward, approval-seeking teen me experienced a happy tummy flip at that.

I got my new perfume and sat there smelling myself all day at work, listening to my favourite albums in peace. Bliss.

princessandtherevolution · 04/05/2017 23:26

what a lovely thread Smile

My DC qualifying in his profession and getting an award. Proud doesn't cover it Grin

ilovepixie · 04/05/2017 23:32

I also had a finger of Kitkat that was pure chocolate the other day. That made me very joyful too.

Ooh love when that happens!

Goodythreeshoes · 04/05/2017 23:37

A bit materialistic this - but I love my new Sketchers trainers!
