Even when my life is a tad on the challenging side, I know that they're there if I really look hard.
This morning's was watching my 10yo DD cycling to school, going her fastest to catch up with her best friend. Her energy & enthusiasm were a joy to behold! It was so simple; it's a moment I'll cherish.
So, AIBU to ask you to share yours? Big or small, fancy or simple!

My 4 year old told me earlier that she isn't going to get married and have children when she's grown up because she will be too busy with her two jobs. Two jobs, I asked? Yes, in the daytime she will be a scaffolder and at nighttime a tooth fairy. I love her so much ❤️

Getting into a fresh bed with a good book and hot chocolate after a hot bath.

WinkyisbackontheButterBeer · 04/05/2017 23:59

I had a few today.
This morning I picked 7m old dd out of her cot and put her inbeteeen me and dh in bed. She gave me a big beaming smile which was lovely, but even better was seeing DH's smile when she woke him up by climbing on him. She spent ten minutes rolling around on the bed giggling and I had one of those rare "this is perfect moments".

Sitting in the sofa with dd on my knee and dcat next to me. Dcat seems to have accepted that the baby is here to stay and is getting less afraid. Even though dd is crawling and thinks that chase the cat is a great game.

Realising that dh had put the washed sheets back on the bed when I had forgotten and thought that I would have to faff with it before getting the baby to sleep.

I wrapped up a present using stripey paper and on the ends the lines all came together to make perfect concentric squares (it was very hard for me to give that present away, and not just keep it to look at!)

Longer, sunnier evenings, going to the park and even just playing in the back garden with my 2 ds and their frienďs.

Nothing lifts the heart higher than children's laughter!

I had an operation yesterday and DD who's really busy as uni, sent me a message, saying I'll be thinking about you all day. She's so thoughtful, I'm really proud of her.

GladstoneBangers · 05/05/2017 06:41

Busy at uni, I can't type.

MrsPringles · 05/05/2017 06:49

My clever little DS getting the hang of potty training so much quicker than we thought he would.
4 accidents in 5 days 🎉

So proud of him Smile

Hearing a pair of kookaburras kicking off just before sun-up. There have been none in my area for at least ten years, so when a pair moved in I was thrilled.

MyOtherNameIsTaken · 05/05/2017 07:57

My goslings hatched yesterday. Grin

foxychox · 05/05/2017 08:39

My dog is having a dream and is wagging her tail furiously, makes me happy that she is having such happy dreams!
Mrsemcgregor have you heard of Jo Malone's green tomato leaf candle? Granny's greenhouse smell but in the house!!! That smell also brings back lovely memories for me...

HelgaHufflepuff76 · 05/05/2017 08:55

Two hours ago I went to my 12 year old Ds's room to wake him up for school. We sat on the bed and had a bit of a chat as we always do.
He always makes me laugh, but this morning he said something that had us both laughing so much we had tears in our eyes!
I love laughing like that, it makes me feel like I'm 12 againGrin

PinkSquash · 05/05/2017 08:58

I managed to fit the contents of the lives of me and 2DC into a one bed flat, may not be joyous, but a big relief.

I also got a job that gives me regular hours and a 20p ph payrise!

plutohasfeelingstoo · 05/05/2017 09:00

Ds almost 3 and I had a chocolate picnic in the garden yesterday. Dh and dd aren't that fussed on chocolate but Ds appears to love it as much as I do, it was lovely.

Callaird · 05/05/2017 09:00

I made my niece properly laugh for the first time. It was amazing and the video makes me so happy.

I've been looking after children for 30+ years, I've made many children laugh for the first time but it's different with my beautiful niece!!

backtowork2015 · 05/05/2017 09:03

Stopped on the way to work with ds aged 3 to watch the new baby goslings for a while. Will keep my heart warmed all day.

boovoo · 05/05/2017 12:17

Just having sunshine is great for me!

EBearhug · 05/05/2017 13:19

I wrote some code today. It compiled and ran the first time!

The stuff of myth and legend, surely! I am in awe.

Unhairymaclary · 05/05/2017 13:31

A wink from our lovely new postman! 😉 I expect he winks at everyone but I like to think he saves them for me!

Comealongpond89 · 05/05/2017 13:32

I started running about a month ago 2 times a week and I've lost half a stone. First weight loss in years!

AntiGrinch · 05/05/2017 13:48

This one was quite a few weeks ago, on World Book Day. But it really stuck in my head. I went to the after school club to collect dcs and walked across the playground quite a long way towards dd2 before she saw me. She was dressed as The Worst Witch and playing with another child who was a super hero, inside a tyre. They looked so absorbed, and busy, and happy. When dd2 saw me, she immediately threw one leg over the tyre and hoisted herself out, ran hard as she could and flung herself in my arms. The sight of that little cute witch, all her energy and power, and all that love for me, is burnt into my brain with joy for ever.

whattheactualfudge · 05/05/2017 13:50

That made me smile Quite! Xx

Giddyaunt18 · 05/05/2017 13:58

Hope this isn't tmi but last night I had a fantastic time between the sheets with my DH of 21 years. We go weeks without sex sometimes but last night I felt joyous that we can still make each other feel that way. Blush Wink

Giddyaunt18 · 05/05/2017 14:36

I told DS to eat his toast the other day, he responded 'no, you eat your porridge'

Love this, made me LOL!

What a great thread, I truly believe happiness is in the small moments, not a permanent state. Feeling fabulously Friday now, thanks OP
