I'm 27 and never tried tea. My OH thinks this is incredibly weird?

The smell just makes me heave.

What 'normal' things have you never tried?

I never liked tea. Didn't even like the smell. Then I started my first office job at 23 and felt all grown up and decided to start drinking tea. Now I live on tea during the day.

MrsArthurShappey · 03/05/2017 20:45

I've seen some shocking things in my time on MN, but this takes the biscuit.

mummymummums · 03/05/2017 20:45

Rhubarb - hate how it looks and smells. MiL knows this and repeatedly brings it round. The day after I had DS she appeared with a huge back and suggested I make DH a nice crumble. She was lucky she didn't leave with it inserted somewhere Angry

AliTheMinx · 03/05/2017 20:45

Ewwww no - me neither. Tea smells so horrid it also makes me feel sick!

piefacedClique · 03/05/2017 20:45

Never had a cup either! Smells like old people!

2cats2many · 03/05/2017 20:45

Nothing, absolutely nothing, is as good as the first cup of tea in the morning. It's sooo refreshing.

I also love Marmite and coffee.

I'm sure my teeth would be whiter if I could ditch the stuff.

rainbowsandglitterandshit · 03/05/2017 20:46

I have never in my life eaten an egg, people always think that's strange.

mummymummums · 03/05/2017 20:46

Bag not back

mugglebumthesecond · 03/05/2017 20:46

YADBU never tried tea wtf?

Crispbutty · 03/05/2017 20:47

I'm 47 and as a chef it means there is very little I haven't eaten but I had never had polenta until last week. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

LapdanceShoeshine · 03/05/2017 20:47

I used to have roast chicken or an omelette in Indian restaurants until I was about 30 - that horrifies me now.

Cannot bring myself to eat oysters.

Marmite hater - also hate beetroot (though other root veg are ok) & kidneys (though liver is fine)

LonelyCooler · 03/05/2017 20:48

I have also never had a cup of tea or coffee and in my late 20's :p

tiputipi · 03/05/2017 20:48

You're making me feel normal!! So glad I'm not the only one.

tiputipi · 03/05/2017 20:49

Piefaced - that made me laugh out loud!

WildKiwi · 03/05/2017 20:51

Heaven is a chocolate digestive, dunked in a cup of tea (but there is a skill to it - dunk too long and it'll fall to bits in your tea and all will be ruined)

Feel free to judge me for my weirdness Grin

1nsanityscatching · 03/05/2017 20:51

I'm almost 50 and have never tried cheese and won't eat anything that contains cheese or fromage frais because fromage is cheese in French Blush Grin

Crinkle77 · 03/05/2017 20:52

God I can't cope without my tea in the morning. I haven't tried any form of shellfish apart from prawns. Hate the taste and texture so can't bring myself to try anything else.

piefacedClique · 03/05/2017 20:53

And some people (freaks I like to call them) actually have cups of half and half!!!! Half tea, half coffee wtaf! 😖

tiputipi · 03/05/2017 20:54

Insanity - 😧😧😧 speechless!!

Cheese?

OP posts:
DownInThePark · 03/05/2017 20:54

Not sure they're normal but jellied eels just know I would hate them!

Cellardoor23 · 03/05/2017 20:54

I love tea and coffee, but not instant coffee.

I've never had a beef burger from McDonald's or Buger King. It doesn't appeal to me at all. I also don't like ice cream. Although I might very, very rarely try and small spoonful of Ben and Jerry's if my DP is eating it.

Onions, peppers and celery also make me heave.

tiputipi · 03/05/2017 20:55

Piefaced - omg, is that a thing? I dread to think what that tastes like 😐

OP posts:
chopper23 · 03/05/2017 20:55

I've never ate a doughnut, mars bar or snickers!

There's just something about them blurrgghh!!

Winterc00kie · 03/05/2017 20:55

I've never tried eggs the smell makes me sick.

GingerKitCat · 03/05/2017 20:56

OP I'm exactly the same, I dislike the smell of tea and have never tried it!

I don't mind green tea or peppermint tea and can just about cope with chai if it's spicy and not too milky/ sweet (drink it once in a blue moon at festivals)

Otherwise it's coffee all the way - black or white without sugar Grin
