I'm 27 and never tried tea. My OH thinks this is incredibly weird?

The smell just makes me heave.

What 'normal' things have you never tried?

What does tea even taste like? How would you describe it?

ShowMePotatoSalad · 03/05/2017 20:30

Oh god definitely don't do it then if it'll make you sick! 😂😂

I don't know whether I could try marmite actually. It reminds me of earwax 😳

ShowMePotatoSalad · 03/05/2017 20:31

i drink at least 3 cups a day and I honestly can't describe to you what it tastes like

ShowMePotatoSalad · 03/05/2017 20:31

Tea not earwax...why am I still talking

tiputipi · 03/05/2017 20:32

Potato - do you like salty things? Cheese and marmite toastie. Honestly, you won't regret it!

selfishmommy · 03/05/2017 20:33

Never had a boiled egg. The smell is disgusting.

ShowMePotatoSalad · 03/05/2017 20:33

I love salty things...I'm going to try it!

Pandabee11 · 03/05/2017 20:35

I started drinking tea at 5, I bloody love the stuff. But for the last 3 years I've had to go cold turkey, as it gives me migraines. I still miss it and sometimes I'll sneak a cup to see if the problem has gone away, then pay dearly for it. So I now make cups for everyone else, a kind of tea by proxy.

If you've tried it but don't like it, well that's fine. If not, have one cup for me!

tiputipi · 03/05/2017 20:35

Let us know how you get on 😁

Tea tastes of heaven Grin

ShowMePotatoSalad · 03/05/2017 20:36

panda can you have decaf tea?

tiputipi · 03/05/2017 20:37

Panda - the smell reminds me of vanilla icecream mixed with cigarettes. That sounds so weird but it's the only way I can describe. After reading all these replies, I feel like I may have to try it.

Not tomorrow, but maybe soon.. when I'm feeling brave 😂

I don't drink any hot drinks last year I decided I was getting to old to not drink tea so decided to try to aquire the taste it didn't work. Im back to explaining that no I don't drink tea, it's because I don't like it, yes i've tried it different ways and water is fine.

I can't try curry and didn't know i liked burgers or pizza until 18 but I've got major food issues stemming from my mums anorexia.

RedStripeIassie · 03/05/2017 20:40

I basically run on tea. I can't do life without it.

Now with sugar for the first time since I was tiny.

One of my first memories is my dad making me a cuppa early in the morning and watching him shave.

Coffee makes me shaky and paranoid though. Nasty stuff.

HildaOg · 03/05/2017 20:41

I love tea but it's terrible for staining teeth so don't drink it often anymore. You're better off without it.

DimsieMaitland · 03/05/2017 20:42

I have never had a cup of tea, ever. Just the smell makes me feel ill.
I'm 47.

I love the smell of coffee but hate the taste - have had maybe 6 cups in my entire life.

My DH doesn't drink tea or coffee either. We're happy being social outcasts together.

luckylucky24 · 03/05/2017 20:42

Never drank tea- only ever sipped coffee off a spoon once too.
Never tried marmite (had it in a pie but never tasted it in whole form).
Never had scrambled egg- looks like sick.
Never tried peanut butter- see above.
Never tried a kebab- don't intend too either.
I'm sure there is plenty more I can't think of.

katmunchkin · 03/05/2017 20:42

I'm 31 and have never had coffee!

user1492554064 · 03/05/2017 20:43

I've never tried tomato ketchup 😳

LapdanceShoeshine · 03/05/2017 20:44

I went on decaff tea when I had bad nausea with second pregnancy, in 1984 Shock Grin

Have drunk it ever since. Ordinary tea is much too tanniny for me now. Have to give the decaff teabag a long brewing time & a good poke mind you.

Asmoto · 03/05/2017 20:44

tip Have you thought about trying a citrus type tea, such as Earl Grey - you might find the smell less off-putting?

RedStripeIassie · 03/05/2017 20:44

This thread is shocking. First tea and now ketchup Shock.

PuppyMonkey · 03/05/2017 20:44

Lucky - you had marmite in a pie? Confused

Cantusethatname · 03/05/2017 20:44

Cooked breakfast. At any time of day but especially in the mornings.

crazypenguinlady · 03/05/2017 20:45

My partner doesn't drink any hot drinks. I think he's weird but I love him anyway Grin I love tea and drink it a lot. Also drink coffee these days since my baby arrived.

Now, cottage cheese and cherries? No way. Boak.
