I stood in the entrance of M&S for 5 minutes this morning just trying to imagine anyone who this would suit.
It's polyester as well so you couldn't even say it would be good in a heatwave.

Abbey how on earth did they manage to make it look lovely?!

Lambbone · 02/05/2017 17:43

The bloody thing is following me about now.

Headofthehive55 · 02/05/2017 17:43

Seriously. I'm nearly fifty. I don't want to look like I've had an accident with the strawberry angel delight.

HappyFlappy · 02/05/2017 17:46

omg. so 70s

How dare you!

The 70s was My Era! We were all turned on, tuned in and dropped out thanks to the the exhortations of Timothy Leary and weed . We have the excuse of not knowing what we were doing, and indeed, not having any sense even when we did know.

The Designers of Today should have learned from our mistakes.

TheScottishPlay · 02/05/2017 17:50

I knew it would be this one or the mustard cheesecloth abomination. I saw it yesterday. DM said I had a party frock similar in 1976 (aged 4).

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 02/05/2017 17:53

Maudlinmaud I actually gasped when I saw that...umm...thing you posted. And it wasn't a gasp of delight either!

I think it'ld be nice with right accessories
Yeah, like a bin bag over it

I think we should all go in, try it on and then post pics on this thread
LOL @ Nancy. Yes, that would be pretty funny. I'm almost tempted

Oh my god, Alpaca that really is a pile of shite. Perfect for going to a fancy dress party as a turd though.

That dress is going to have a 'smell' isn't it? You know the smell...hot nylon with a soupcon of sweat, overlaid with a touch of onion
Grin

Strokethefurrywall · 02/05/2017 17:58

Jesus peace. That's what I'd wear if I wanted to go to a costume party dressed as a bottle of Pepto Bismol.

ErrolTheDragon · 02/05/2017 17:59

DD trying to find a dress on sunday was reduced to tears at one point by the sheer awfulness of dresses in general - and we didn't even look at any in M&S (they provided an acceptable pair of black ballet pumps and some very nice chinese food)

Abbey0134 · 02/05/2017 18:08

This is the dress as published in GH mag.

Yuk

ErrolTheDragon · 02/05/2017 18:12

I just showed DD a few of the choicest items ... she genuinely misread Alpaca's entry as 'Bardot Shit Dress'. (she's 18, but evidently still uses visual cues)Grin

Mermaidinthesea123 · 02/05/2017 18:14

Yes you can have a prize, that is truly nauseating.

crabbiearses · 02/05/2017 18:24

i love it, but i love a retro outfit

TheNinjaWife · 02/05/2017 18:37

I saw this yesterday in Monsoon. I couldn't stop looking at it, laughing, while the tune 'Prince Charming' played in my head.

FluffyBathTowel · 02/05/2017 18:49

Give it a day or two and I bet the blogger DB40 will be raving about that Monsoon jacket.

pandarific · 02/05/2017 19:02

I quite like it. But then I know I rock shift dresses, and I am quite fond of pineapple and cheese on cocktail sticks.

pandarific · 02/05/2017 19:04

Oooh TheNinjaWife. I like that too! Blush It would look great with skinny jeans and the glittery gold trainers I have...

mrsglowglow · 02/05/2017 19:08

I saw this dress and thought 'George and Mildred' 😂

AyeAyeFishyPie · 02/05/2017 19:10

I feel sweaty just looking at it. Yikes.

MotherofPearl · 02/05/2017 19:15

Honestly, will M&S never learn? Can't someone more social media savvy than I am (not hard, tbf!) put a link to this thread on their Twitter feed? They really could do with some honest feedback.

That orange asymmetrical one!

ShatnersBassoon · 02/05/2017 19:16

It's part Fanny Cradock, part Hattie Jacques. So aspirational.

The80sweregreat · 02/05/2017 19:18

Alex jones on the one show has a jacket on with same kind of arms. Its a thing ( which looks bloody terrible) who designs this stuff! ( they are on glue)

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/05/2017 19:20

Crikey, that jacket's a bit Cinderella's coachmen.

Squigglypig · 02/05/2017 19:21

I saw that exact dress today and just thought WTF!

ErrolTheDragon · 02/05/2017 19:24

Do they do it deliberately so that people go to their website to point and laugh but then may notice something they like? (there were quite a few dresses there which looked perfectly fine or even nice)
