Fragrant Diane, she really is the kiss of death.
My toes are still curling

Scotland have turned their backs on Labour ( but NOT gone to the Tories)

I agree, however if the predictions are correct this is changing with the Tories forecasted to get 7 or 8 seats.

TheBogQueen · 03/05/2017 17:08

Labour are behind the Tories in Scotland - or they were last time I looked.

It's not like the SNP is so brilliant either but peiple know what they stand for and feel they will protect our services.

Batgirlspants · 03/05/2017 17:09

Make the Eton party and we are legion. Come on here that's playground stuff.

half the thread is about her race

Nope it's about her racism.

Tapandgo · 03/05/2017 17:15

Piglet - of course, that's my point. Many NHS will vote for parties other than Labour or Tory.
TheBogQueen - I know. I am a member of the SNP since resigning from Labour and donate to them. Alas I can't vote for them as I live in England. So - for me Labour is my only choice. (They wouldn't get my vote if I was in Scotland)

Justanotherlurker · 03/05/2017 17:17

The Tories attract all sorts including so called 'champion of the NHS, Jimmy Saville

There has been plenty of despicable people associated with every party, if all you have left is to try and play guilt by association to not vote for the other party, or spout from the Momentum crib sheet you have almost certainly lost the argument.

Tapandgo · 03/05/2017 17:21

just - you need to take my reference to Saville in the context of the issue I was responding to. (As my previous mention of Thatcher with Pinochet was in response to someone trying to line up Labour with the IRA.
Both 'big' parties (and the rest) have their share of the odious and inept. In the end, you vote for the party that best represents the principles you believe in - in my view

Bringmesunshite · 03/05/2017 17:21

Greville Janner. If you really want to score points using Jimmy Saville.

Tapandgo · 03/05/2017 17:22

bring - as above

Bringmesunshite · 03/05/2017 17:24

Thatcher is dead. Corbyn is the current leader of the Labour Party and he arselicked the IRA just after it had tried to blow up the democratically elected UK government at Brighton. I've seen the handshake photos. Fucking unforgivable.

Batgirlspants · 03/05/2017 17:29

Tap I completely see your point and I have never voted Tory before but this election is different.

The paramount issue here is brexit. I cannot see any of the party leaders being up to the massive task but TM is the best of the bad bunch.

If we get a bad deal forget education and the NHS as the economy would collapse.

Corbyn is a disaster as labour leader but would be cataclysmic as a PM.

The only good outcome here in my opinion would be TM negotiates a good enough Brexit, Corbyn fucks off and takes this disasterous supporters with him and labour vote a sensible leader to get good socialist policies that appeal to the majority of votersand we win in 5 years time.

Then we can deal with education and the NHS etc.

It's not good but I can't see any other better outcome.

Tapandgo · 03/05/2017 17:32

Bring - and May admires Thatcher. May is alive and is in charge of the country - I've seen the handshake photos of the odious Thatcher with some seriously odious characters - not worthy of 'admiring'

Tapandgo · 03/05/2017 17:36

Bat - I too see your reasoning. But it was a Tory that brought about a Brexit in the first place and is leading the UK to split up into independent bits.
So for me - no way can I let them think my vote means my support for them. Brexit is going to be tougher than she is letting on - hence why she has called the election.

Batgirlspants · 03/05/2017 17:37

quench

She can send her son to Ghana to sample the culture why not.

She can send her son to a private school even if it makes her a massive hypocrite and destroys her socialist credibility but she can't make racist remarks and expect to escape criticism.

She should have been sacked but hey ho.

user1487175389 · 03/05/2017 17:40

Oh leave her alone. Can't you see Labour, 's every slip up is being dialled up to eleven to mask the sound of the Torypocalypse?

Batgirlspants · 03/05/2017 17:42

To be fair yes it was a Tory that called the EU election but remember millions voted UKIP. We can debate the myriad of reasons why that was although my opinion is it was the abject failure of all parties to address the public disquiet to mass immigration but UKIP were very popular.

I don't think Cameron thought he would loose in s million years though and he completely misjudged the mood.

However I see your points but surely it's best to have a robust strong response to the Brexit negotiations but again who knows.

It's a bloody mess.

Batgirlspants · 03/05/2017 17:52

To be honest I am not sure I could do that x in the Tory box but I can't vote Corbyn or the other Lib dem idiot whose name escapes me.

I think his views on gay rights and abortion might be dangerous clouded by his religious beliefs. Don't trust him.

Bringmesunshite · 03/05/2017 18:02

To be fair to Tim Farron (libdem) he has clarified that he supports equal marriage and doesn't see homosexuality as a sin (at least as far as the voters are concerned so he wouldn't change libdem policy on that). Dunno his views on abortion but that is always a free vote in Parliament anyway - that is, not on party lines.

Bringmesunshite · 03/05/2017 18:09

I don't fucking admire Thatcher. She was an evil bitch whose policies affected me personally. I'm in my fifties and was already a grown up when she was PM. But Corbyn courting the IRA and Hamas as a fucking no mark back bencher was and is a disgrace. And his indulgence of anti-semites as party leader is also a disgrace. I've run out of red lines that he has crossed.

Tapandgo · 03/05/2017 18:20

It's a bloody mess
On that we are agreed 🤝

Orlantina · 03/05/2017 18:24

I think his views on gay rights and abortion might be dangerous clouded by his religious beliefs

I do wonder what Theresa May really thinks - given her religious beliefs as well.

Bringmesunshite · 03/05/2017 18:29

Equal marriage is the one good thing Cameron did. There is no going back on that.

Headofthehive55 · 03/05/2017 20:09

She was reported as suggesting that in multicultural areas they should recruit nurses from the Caribbean, not the Finnish ones they had done.
I think that's rather racist.
My children's secondary school has probably single figures of black children.
I think to suggest Only White teachers should teach there would be incredibly racist so why can she make a similar statement and not be pulled up over it?
I am horrified by her comment.

PeanutButterBunny · 03/05/2017 20:17

I actually think Dianne Abbott is cut a lot of slack in the media because she is black and female. She is an absolute hypocrite with an appallingly superior supercilious manner. And she doesn't come across as particularly bright either.

Watched QT a few times with her in it. I am not British and I have seen some horrible politicians where I come from. She's of their quality. Thick, hypocritical, lying piece of shit. Who just happens to be black and female. Anyone who supports her, give your head a good shake.

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 04/05/2017 11:03

Who else has seen this then?

To think Diane Abbott was off her face on the radio this morning?

I had to laugh at that!
