Nose job booked for tomorrow. AIBU to not go?

Name changed.

I have a large nose. It's not huge but unsightly and affects the way my face looks. I've never been called ugly but I felt I would feel so much more confident without it.

I went for my consultation and discussed what I wanted. The cosmetic surgeon made some plans for me and I agreed to the procedure.

However, today I went for my pre-op appointment and the two receptionists stopped me to say they've never said this before but they genuinely thought my nose was absolutely fine and they had no idea why I was changing it.

They seemed very genuine.

Now I've got doubts about having the procedure tomorrow.

I don't hate my looks at all. It's literally just my nose. I don't have low self esteem. But maybe I'm wrong.

I know you can let me know if my nose is awful as you haven't seen it, but do you think the receptionists say that to everyone? AIBU to reconsider on the basis of their opinions?

Very random thread I know Grin

I'm so glad OP. You're a genuinely gorgeous girl. I'd love to look like you. Learn to love yourself Flowers

This is likes bra intervention, but better!

You're a good looking woman OP. Leave the nose alone and spend some time investing in your self esteem.

Oh so pleased you cancelled! I think you are gorgeous how you are and hopefully you will come to feel the same way at some point Flowers

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 26/04/2017 21:12

I'm relieved that you cancelled, I was so uneasy after what you said. Nothing to do with the fact that I couldn't see why you thought you needed the operation, that's totally up to you and how you feel, but you really don't know how good you look. We're so hyper critical of ourselves, it's a shame we don't relax and appreciate what we actually have Flowers

I'm so g;ad you cancelled too. A nose job is such a drastic measure - it not only changes your nose but your whole face and it so often can go wrong. I saw your photo and you have a beautiful face and your nose is perfectly fine. Please don't have any surgery. You really do have such a beautiful face and there is absolutely nothing about it that needs changing. .

All sounds good.
I have a bump in my nose at the top.
I was totally unaware of it till some rude lad about 45 years ago brought it to my attention.

From the front it's straight and small. I quite like my nose so I don't look at the side view.
It wasn't worth worrying about.

Go and spend your money on a nice holiday

Barcoo2 · 27/04/2017 11:22

Oh great news! Now go and get some counselling! You are beautiful. Don't wreck your body.

I have had a plastic surgery in Australia after a careful consideration of all of the options ( www.drtavakoli.com.au/expect-getting-breast-lift-australia/ ). I made that decision after giving birth to my child since I thought that my body had changed a lot after pregnancy and that some things need a little help to be back to its previous form. I was not aiming to look perfect, I just wanted my body to look as I feel it should look. I have spent a lot of the time researching for the trustworthy clinic, and have never had any regrets. Based on my experience, I believe that you should not hurry to do your nose job since it is obvious that you are not sure about that, and other people's opinions make you reconsider your decisions. Take your time. and if you still are not comfortable with your nose in a month or two, do it.

She did reconsider. Over a year ago!
