Nose job booked for tomorrow. AIBU to not go?

Name changed.

I have a large nose. It's not huge but unsightly and affects the way my face looks. I've never been called ugly but I felt I would feel so much more confident without it.

I went for my consultation and discussed what I wanted. The cosmetic surgeon made some plans for me and I agreed to the procedure.

However, today I went for my pre-op appointment and the two receptionists stopped me to say they've never said this before but they genuinely thought my nose was absolutely fine and they had no idea why I was changing it.

They seemed very genuine.

Now I've got doubts about having the procedure tomorrow.

I don't hate my looks at all. It's literally just my nose. I don't have low self esteem. But maybe I'm wrong.

I know you can let me know if my nose is awful as you haven't seen it, but do you think the receptionists say that to everyone? AIBU to reconsider on the basis of their opinions?

Very random thread I know Grin

A nose job is not without risk. You need to be convinced it's what you deeply want.
I had a friend who had one--I was amazed as her nose was lovely (better than mine) but though it gave her initial confidence in a couple of years it failed, the bridge sagged and it really did look odd. I'd reconsider.

PsychedelicSheep · 25/04/2017 22:22

Aww you're beautiful!

You're nose looks fine and suits your face I think. You could maybe have the tip sculpted but I think it's fine as it is really. I have a big nose myself and I used to hate it but now I'm 38 and don't give a fuck frankly!

All the best with whatever you decide Smile

pangolina · 25/04/2017 22:22

I really dont think you need it at all.

Kitsandkids · 25/04/2017 22:23

I honestly think you're very pretty and don't see the problem with your nose. It looks absolutely fine to me.

ttcnovice · 25/04/2017 22:23

Genuinely can't see anything at all wrong with your nose OP!

SaucyJack · 25/04/2017 22:23

I don't think "You look fine" and "You'd look better with a nose job" are mutually exclusive statements TBH.

I bet you do look pretty, and your nose is fine. Some people even prefer the aesthetic of a strong nose.

I guess it's whether you think it's worth going through all the pain and expense for cookie cutter perfection.

mineofuselessinformation · 25/04/2017 22:23

You're an attractive woman!
But, I'm getting that sideways on, the bottom part of your nose is longer than you would like.
Why not go for it? I had mine shortened and a bump removed (it was also straightened so I couldn't see more of it out of one eye than the other - it was that wonky).
It's natural to feel nervous before an operation. Have a think about why you wanted it in the first place.

Squirmy65ghyg · 25/04/2017 22:24

It looks totally normal. You look really nice.

cunningartificer · 25/04/2017 22:24

Ps your nose looks great and in proportion with your face.

Itshellofromme · 25/04/2017 22:24

In that pic your nose looks small (you should see mine.)

Surely it will only be changed a tiny bit.

I think you're mad but it's up to you.

Crispbutty · 25/04/2017 22:24

It looks fine in that photo honestly

Lilyoftheforest · 25/04/2017 22:24

Gosh OP, you are pretty! Smile

And I GENUINELY think your nose is fine.

If you have doubts, cancel the op.

You can always make it for another time if you change your mind again.

Branleuse · 25/04/2017 22:24

youre really pretty and have a completely normal nice nose

bookwormnerd · 25/04/2017 22:24

Postpone if not sure. Looking at your photo I think you are beautiful just the way you are and your face is very well proportioned. Your nose suits your face. You have to do what you think will make you feel best but I would agree with receptionist that you don't need it done

Justmuddlingalong · 25/04/2017 22:25

You're very pretty. Beautiful eyes and a lovely smile. If your nose was too big/odd looking, it would be the 1st thing I noticed. It wasn't.

Marmelised · 25/04/2017 22:25

Actually the girl from dirty dancing is a case in point. Her career stalled, allegedly in part because she had a nose job and then no one recognised her...

strongandlong · 25/04/2017 22:25

You are very pretty and have a lovely nose!

AgentProvocateur · 25/04/2017 22:25

You're very pretty and your nose looks perfect.

Pigeonpost · 25/04/2017 22:25

Difficult to tell from the photo. An ex colleague had a nose job. Looked fine beforehand, terrible after.

CrockedPot · 25/04/2017 22:26

You don't need one. Your nose is fine and you are a very attractive person. Only you know whether this op will 'complete you' but seriously, you don't have a nose problem. X

Barcoo2 · 25/04/2017 22:27

Oh my god please don't do it. You are very beautiful.

Someone very close to me had a nose job and now she looks terrible. It's really unnatural and obvious - sort of a celebrity look. She used to be so pretty. She hates it too but now her face is irreversible.

Freddiethefrogity · 25/04/2017 22:27

I can't find a side picture.

It isn't pointed. So it's big from the side. It's just fat. Well that's what I've always thought.

I've been trying for years to get the shape changed but doctors have all refused. This was the only doctor willing to do it.

I wa so my planning to have the end thinned a bit and the very tip smoother a bit. The changes would be noticeable.

I think you look great and your nose seems completely fine and normal to me!

Fragglez · 25/04/2017 22:28

You are very pretty - and your nose is no more noticeable than anyone else's, honestly Smile

SnapCrackleOutOfIt · 25/04/2017 22:28

OP you're stunning!!! Leave your nose alone! 🙏🏼👃🏼
