To think it's unfair on the sacconejolys children

I don't watch them. But millions do. I don't really think it's very fair on the children to record everything noteworthy (well 99.9% is boring as fuck) everday and post it online.

How do they get away without child working / performance permits?

I feel sorry for the Beckham / Ramsey kids who are going to be peddled by their parents to keep their "brands" going.

I'm not interested in the parent blogger stuff myself but I'm mindful of what I put online about my own children. My daughter said the school she attends had talked to kids about their images belonging to them and that parents should ask about what kids are comfortable with and not just post stuff without asking. I don't post anything embarrassing about them online but As they've got older I don't put anything without asking. misses point of thread

I find their videos so interesting and funny, I love watching them! I also wish I could look back on my childhood their way the sacconnejolys will be able to :) I don't think its unfair, but I do see your point.

I kind of do get their stuff, it's some kind of escapism and addictive with people thinking they are their friends - a bit like soap Oprah's. But im very uncomfortable with the children being used like that from the second they are born.

Oh my, I just looked them up - they post every day and have over a million subscribers. I agree it's not fair on the children - it's not like they are acting, it is their life.

I had to google them. Over a million subscribers? Confused. A million people want to watch an ordinary family living their ordinary life...
How very odd. And how bloody awful for those children who have no concept of how completely their privacy is being violated.

If you visit forums like Guru Gossip and The Gossip Bakery there are some pretty strong criticisms made against them. Imagine all the little niggly, judgey comments from people regarding parenting and then times it by x100000000. It's not fair on the children though imho. I'd hate to have my life recorded for all to see. Later on they'll have peers who will know as much about their weaning, potty training and family life as they do. Sad

I watch loads of YouTube channels, but I can't abide when bloggers start using their children to create content on their channels. It is exploitation, and will likely be uncomfortable for their children in the future. I work with teenagers, and they would almost unanimously be mortified even by "cutesy" clips of themselves as toddlers being shared with the world.

And people make fan videos with downloaded copies, and Gifs of the sacconejoly kids, so it's not like you can delete the footage once it's published.

I do think it's time everyone started to think about what they share of their children online. The first generation of children to potentially have their entire childhoods documented on social media will be reaching adulthood within the next few years. I wonder what they will think of their images being shared so widely and permanently (even if it's "just" Facebook friends).

January87 the new baby is called Allessia and is tortured by the kids, J hasn't a clue how to hold it, head flopping all over the place and feet are always bare and blue! Ashamed to say I only watch to judge :(

I have watched them on occasion and I agree that there is something about the vlogs that worries me. I watch some other "mummy" type vlogs, and they don't worry me in the same way. I think that the Sacconejolys sometimes continue filming in situations where they maybe shouldn't. I have watched vlogs in the past where the children were upset/crying and I was kind of thinking just put down the camera and comfort your kid!

It could be to do with their target audience, the vlogs don't seem to be aimed at other parents, but more at young teenagers.

vlogmeister the sacconejoly were pretty good about not disclosing much about potty training. I've studied a bit about them in the past. Along with other youtubers (daily bumps, ellie and jared) it is a HUGE thing nowadays and slowly becoming more popular than tv with certain generations. I tend to watch more on YouTube than on TV now. They have big conventions and they are absolutely loaded. And I mean loaded! The sacconejoly's have a nanny since they have to travel a lot for conventions, meetings etc... and they got a lot of hate for it so now they don't show her. But she definitely still works for them and it gives the children a chance to be normal children without their parents being recognised (which it does happen as they have a huge fan base)
I'm not saying I fully agree with what they do and I certainly wouldn't do it myself. But the videos are roughly 10-15 mins a day and it's not all about the children so the whole thing about child working thing shouldn't be an argument IMO.

There's another youtuber though (and this is an example of where it can go wrong) She had a daughter when she was a teenager, they then split and then she met someone knew, got pregnant with him, it was twins, he cheated, they got back together and she fell pregnant again, he then cheated when she was about 8 months pregnant. When that baby was a few months old she met someone new, that baby has just turned 3 and she already married the new guy and had a baby with him (baby is around 5 months old now) that guy also has 2 kids from a previous marriage. So between them, they have 7 kids!! She's actually a pretty good mum and has had some serious bad luck but this guy seems nice. But it's the downside to putting your life out there!

I always wonder what will happen to these parent blogger types when their cutsie little dcs turn into unappealing teens. Not so much of a money maker then I imagine.

Yes it does pay very well, about 30k a month just from advertising socialblade.com/youtube/user/leflooftv and they could be making 3-4 times that with brand deals + money from the other accounts.

I might of just watched a few videos with my juddgy pants on

Even if the end result is only 10-15m. The dad has probably had the camera on for an hour or two trying to film the right things. If this was on TV there would be rules around it.

Also to those saying I bet the teenagers will hate it (when the kids grow up) I really don't think they will... it's like being a child of a celebrity, they will have so much money and fame that I don't think other teens will bully them!
