Potato waffles in the toaster?

Sorry I didn't know where to post but..

Found this out when my friend and I came home pissed and I watched her fly some in the toaster in awe. How have I never known this?
Toasted once on defrost, once on normal. Took 4 minutes. I feel like my life has been completely changed. Grin

I've heard of - but never tried - poaching salmon in the dishwasher too.

Mistoffelees · 11/04/2017 08:45

kitchenwitch I'd usually do them under the grill or they can be oven baked. Your toaster sounds amazing!

Huldra · 11/04/2017 08:53

the Warbutons toaster pockets are great. My 15 year old loves them as a snack or breakfast with grated cheese and pepperoni.

Sarahrellyboo1987 · 12/04/2017 10:36

Been doing this for years....my mum used to do it!
God damn it....I'm just too hungry to wait for cheesy potato waffles!

CattyMcCatface · 12/04/2017 10:54

(I've not read past the first page, so excuse me if I am repeating someone else!)

If I'm toasting anything other than normal bread I use a toaster pocket - they are brill for small items (like scones or crumpets) so you don't burn your fingers trying to get them out or feel tempted to ram a knife in, or things with fillings (sandwiches, pop tarts) as if they do leak it doesn't mess your toaster up. Only £1 from the pound shop.

I do this all the time

SherbrookeFosterer · 12/04/2017 13:22

Burgers in the toaster changed my life as a student!

SherbrookeFosterer · 12/04/2017 13:22

But you have to empty the tray every time as the fat can catch fire.

EffinElle · 12/04/2017 13:25

I've been toasting waffles this way for ages.

MrsPinkCock · 12/04/2017 13:26

I discovered this as a student Grin they do fizz a bit as they defrost though...

missdebaroo · 12/04/2017 14:11

Found this out a few year ago. Toaster waffles changed everything!! 😂😂

TheKitchenWitch · 12/04/2017 15:37

My toaster is indeed wonderful. I come down in the mornings and it cheers me up to see it Blush
I am also now eating a lot more hot cross buns Grin

Pumpkin17 · 12/04/2017 21:02

This has blown my mind!! I normally do mine in the oven or the grill.

Potato waffles with super noodles on top & then grated cheese is the biz Grin

Marmite - you can boils eggs in a kettle just by keeping the kettle boiling. I used to work in a seaside shop and we did this to make egg sandwiches as we didn't have a cooker. Wish I'd known about waffles in the toaster when DCs were small - I used to heat the whole oven for ages to make one waffle for DDs breakfast!

Everything goes in my toaster! Pitta breads, naan breads cut to fit, frozen bagels. Have you seen the toast ie bags? Great for making toasted sandwiches or warming anything up really! 😁😁

sashadjas · 14/04/2017 04:03

Why haven't I got any potato waffles? Envy bugger it's 4am and now I have to make a sandwich on unfrozen bread no less... starts another shopping list by golly I'm actually rather peckish now!Grin

sashadjas · 14/04/2017 04:04

Whoa those stars make type in bold?? Such a technosaur...

lostatsea1 · 14/04/2017 04:45

My God none of you lot have ever been homeless and had to feed a family without a kitchen!!!!! Did you know you can cook a mean curry in a kettle!

Oblomov17 · 14/04/2017 05:25

Waffles always go in the Toaster, don't they?

fatchilli123 · 15/04/2017 08:27

Never needed a toaster. Now I have to buy one 😂
Set a friends toaster on fire trying to do popadums. Do NOT put popadums in toasters. They go in microwave now and are really good.
Must buy toaster and potato waffles😂😘

Shadowboy · 15/04/2017 08:32

Always do potato waffles in the toaster. Takes 3 'toasts' one to defrost and the other two goes to get them golden. Great for when the toddler wants a snack as I can put the mini ones in.

Peanutandphoenix · 15/04/2017 08:46

Well I never I didn't ever think about bunging them in the toaster I need to invest in a new toaster now and I will be trying out the frozen bread idea that will save me some time at night before work.
