Sorry I didn't know where to post but..

Found this out when my friend and I came home pissed and I watched her fly some in the toaster in awe. How have I never known this?
Toasted once on defrost, once on normal. Took 4 minutes. I feel like my life has been completely changed. Grin

Fishwiife · 10/04/2017 20:16

Sandwich toasters can be used to make omelettes and even cake....

kennycat · 10/04/2017 20:22

That's how I frequently do waffles but the bagel, egg, sandwich press person, wow! That could be a life change round our gaff. Thanks xx

Bantanddec · 10/04/2017 20:25

My mind is blown!!

Fontella · 10/04/2017 20:33

Me and the boyfriend got an Indian ready meal selection on Saturday, as I couldn't be arsed to cook, and he was shocked when I cut a big Naan in half and popped the two pieces in the toaster.

Doesn't everyone warm up their Naan bread in the toaster?

SugarMiceInTheRain · 10/04/2017 20:37

I've put sweet waffles in the toaster for years... why on earth did it not occur to me to do the same with potato waffles? I know what the kids are having for lunch tomorrow now!

NotAMammy · 10/04/2017 20:38

My mind is blown that other people don't cook waffles this way! This is how we've always done it. My ultimate dh isn't home, comfort dinner is toasted waffles with tinned spaghetti and cheese grated on top with a splash of worchester sauce, paired with a massive mug of tea.

The egg in bagel idea is genius. I don't eat eggs but I might whip that out when cooking for other people at some time and look all accomplished.

frozen bread sandwiches are pure brilliant, especially in summer- why didn't I ever think of this (59 yrs old)

Catsize · 10/04/2017 21:24

I make a chicken curry, rice, naan and a cup of tea in our four-slicer.

TheKitchenWitch · 10/04/2017 22:15

I don't think I've ever even Sen a potato waffle. When did they become a thing?

TheKitchenWitch · 10/04/2017 22:15

SEEN
Bloody autocorrect.

caringcarer · 10/04/2017 22:17

I always do mine in the toaster. A Quick breakfast.

TheKitchenWitch · 10/04/2017 22:18

Right I've looked them up now. They look exactly like regular waffles but have potato in them. How else would you do them in except in the toaster like regular waffles? I'm utterly confused.

BearFoxBear · 10/04/2017 22:24

mum guilt vegetables GrinGrin

klondikecookie · 10/04/2017 22:30

I'm another that had a toaster fire doing this. I'd only cooked them in it a handful of times too. Would not recommend!

Picklesandpies · 10/04/2017 22:33

This ruined me after a break up and too many nights out - the perfect thing to soak up alcohol!

TheDogsMother · 10/04/2017 22:37

Toaster bags ! I had no idea but am getting some from Lakeland asap. I'm actually a little bit excited.

Always do frozen Naan in the toaster though.

Radiator Quesadillas Grin

StripyHorse · 10/04/2017 22:58

DH keeps telling me about this. I didn't believe him have never tried it.

Mistoffelees · 10/04/2017 23:07

kitchenwitch how have you never seen potato waffles?! Are you outside the UK?
I have heard tell recently that cheese sauce can be made by just bunging everything together in a bowl in the microwave. Haven't tried it yet though.

SealSong · 10/04/2017 23:21

Loving the ironing a panini idea. Gonna do that for sure.

NeedsAsockamnesty · 10/04/2017 23:56

I am not wasting my time finding toaster bags after the lies I was told about sandwich toasters.

Meercat2 · 11/04/2017 00:02

Can someone tell me if I'm it's only in Lakeland you can get toaster bags please

BikeRunSki · 11/04/2017 07:12

You can get them in Poundland, Asda and Morrisons too sometimes Meercat, but the Lakeland ones are thicker and longer lasting. Also on Amazon.

TheKitchenWitch · 11/04/2017 07:15

I am indeed outside the uk - I'm guessing they're a British thing then?
How else would you do them if NOT in the toaster?
I use my microwave for loads - white sauce, proper egg custard, chocolate pudding, steaming veg and cooking rice (for cooling and then making fried rice).
My new toaster comes with an extra "cage" specifically for making panini etc. It also is width adjustable and has a bagel/hit cross bun setting!

Ampersand22 · 11/04/2017 07:21

I can't be arsed to scroll back to see who said it, but radiator quesadillas? how? I beg of you, how?
