Just had war with my next door neighbour.

I posted a thread here last week about Neighbours dogs coming into my garden- shifting everywhere, harassing my two and digging up flower beds.

General consensus was to board up the hole in the fence between our own gardens- which I did do. I also posted a receipt from the garden last weekend from the plants I had brought that her dogs dug up just hours after I planted them with a note explaining that as they had damaged my garden, could she please drop the cash in to go and replace the plants.

Neighbour returned from holiday last night and nothing was said. Went out this morning with the DC and have come back to find the fence panel has been taken out- so a) they have entered my property without permission as it was nailed in from my side (yes I probably shouldn't leave the gate unlocked) and b) have damaged something else of mine. Dogs have been in the garden again as well as DD stood in a dog shit on the patio.

Anyway went and knocked on neighbours door and produced her with the receipt for the fence panel as well. She ranted and raved at me, spat in my face and slammed the door in my face.

She has now gone out and left her mutts dogs in the garden so no doubt we will get a visit again from them this afternoon.

Don't let the dogs escape Hmm. If they are run over and killed it's horrible for them and the person who has hit them. Have some common sense.

prettybird · 07/04/2017 16:48

I'm not normally one to say The Police, but in this case it is warranted.

Dh recently had to do jury service which included the "unwanted exchange of bodily fluid" (even though on the face of it it was just an unasked-for kiss) which is categorised as sexual assault Shock - for which the guy got put on to Sex Offenders Register Shock unfortunately, he didn't get found guilty of the rape charge of a different woman Angry but as he was out on licence for attempted murder, got sent back to prison for the remainder of that sentence as a result of the guilty sexual assault charge Grin

However, I think you are on to a hiding to nothing asking for payment for your plants and fencing panel. Sad

FerdinandsRevenge · 07/04/2017 16:49

Being an annoyance to her landlord is the best way to go actually, and mkae it clear that's happy to destroy property.

spiderlight · 07/04/2017 16:51

RSPCA don't deal with strays - it's the dog warden you want. And police....grim :(

HeeHighls · 07/04/2017 16:54

"What a vile creature she is!! I'd open my gate and let the dogs out. Not your problem"

Not my problem when I found a young Golden Cocker last week?

I put him on my own lead to wait for his owner. When his dad eventually emerged from much searching for him, even across a park I could see the relaxation of his shoulders when he saw I had him.
Maybe only animal lovers could understand it.

If you can't treat animals well, you'll never be a good parent.

Nojellyintrifle · 07/04/2017 16:56

How idiotic to say 'not your problem'. Even if you couldn't care less about innocent animals getting hurt, humans could be as a result of an accident.

HeeHighls · 07/04/2017 16:59

"However, I think you are on to a hiding to nothing asking for payment for your plants and fencing panel. "

I'd completely forgotten that. I don't think the neighbours will be around much longer. No LL want's the police involved.

SapphireStrange · 07/04/2017 17:00

I agree with pps, DON'T let the dogs out! It's not their fault and they could come to harm.

I'd contain them in my garden and argue that I'd done so for their and my dogs' security and safety.

OttoChocoLab · 07/04/2017 17:02

His dad?

FluffyWhiteTowels · 07/04/2017 17:02

Wonder if police have spoken to OP yet. I cannot believe NDN took down the fence to let her dogs trespass and rampage and poo. Vile vile person and shouldn't own dogs either ... dear lord I hope she doesn't have children 😱

40somethingwonderful · 07/04/2017 17:04

How vile. Hope this gets sorted asap.

RebootYourEngine · 07/04/2017 17:05

What a cheeky cow. Who in their right mind thinks its acceptableto remove someones fence panel so your dogs can shit in their garden.

peaceout · 07/04/2017 17:07

I would let the landlord know whats going on, emphasizing potential damage to the property

FluffyWhiteTowels · 07/04/2017 17:07

Otto of course dad to a puppy golden cocker ... they're soooo cute

Owner of German Shepherd or Rottweiler

There's a difference Grin I think 🤔

FluffyWhiteTowels · 07/04/2017 17:09

Although you can be dad to GS and Rotty and owner to cocker also ... phew back on the fence 🙉

peaceout · 07/04/2017 17:09

I expect you were ready to be mummy to this lost little furbaby weren't you

OttoChocoLab · 07/04/2017 17:16

Oh, ha ha. I had visions of a fully grown male Cocker Spaniel frantically searching for it's puppy.

I don't refer to myself as Mummy, or Dh as Daddy to pets so I was slightly confused there for a second Grin

MySordidCakeSecret · 07/04/2017 17:18

That's really made me laugh! Grin (the cocker's dad)

ohfourfoxache · 07/04/2017 17:27

Love the reference to dad Grin

Op you should keep a record of absolutely everything that happens just in case it's needed as evidence

Lynnm63 · 07/04/2017 17:40

heehighls the owner of these dogs DOESNT GIVE A FUCK. The dog you found loose WAS LOVED the dogs running wild in the ops garden isn't. The scum REMOVED THE FENCE ALLOWING THE DOGS TO GET LOOSE. If the dogs were taken away either nearby or 30 miles away the dogs might have a chance at a decent owner.
I have kids and a dog who I adore BUT I DONT LET IT GET INTO MY NEIGHBOURS GARDEN TO SHIT BY REMOVING THE FENCE PANEL.

Veiledusername · 07/04/2017 17:45

Lynn Just because the owner doesn't give a fuck doesn't mean the dog should be let lose with the potential for it to come to harm, unnecessary injury and pain, or a slow death.

Not the dog's fault the owner is a tosser.

PatMullins · 07/04/2017 17:49

Sorry, she fucking spat in your face?

Lynnm63 · 07/04/2017 17:54

I actually said I woukd takethem to a vet or rspca 30 miles away so the scum owners wouldn't be able to find them easily. I suggested the op open the gate and immediately report the dogs as loose so they'd be picked up and made safe. That is what I do but according to heehighls that makes me the kind of person who shouldn't have kids and dogs. Her anecdote about a good owner loosing his dog is irrelevant as these owners are the polar opposite.
I agree usually there aren't bad dogs just bad owners.

HeeHighls · 07/04/2017 17:58

"I expect you were ready to be mummy to this lost little furbaby weren't you"
Dad was cute, but a third of my age so I got into my car and went home to a lonely old age.

peaceout · 07/04/2017 17:58

the woman is clearly feral,
are they big dogs?
maybe you'll get lucky and they'll eat her
