On my phone, when you send a text and then go back to the home page/do something else then go back into texts, it stays on the message conversation of the last person you messaged. I don't text many people and 99% of the time it's on my husbands message convo.

I've got my driving test tomorrow morning and my instructor has just text me to say he isn't very well and likely to have to postpone my test which could be another 8 weeks away now. Not instructors fault but I'm angry/upset as I'm going to have to pay again, too late to cancel now.

Anyway, I've text my husband (at work) and told him. I called instructor a few names as not been happy with him for few weeks but didn't want change instructor with being so close to test. Except I sent the text to my instructor and not my husband. Bollocks.

Your post gave me a giggle, OP Grin I wished I'd have done this on purpose when I dropped my first instructor who didn't even have the courtesy to reply to my polite message due to her cancelling at least every other week. Gosh, she was an awful old battleaxe and the new instructor was a blessing.

Good luck, OP!

Papafran · 02/04/2017 19:38

Hahaha at all driving instructors being called Dave and Steve. Mine was called Steve. He was rubbish and after failing twice, I gave up and just practiced with my mum and then took the test in her car and passed.

chastenedButStillSmiling · 02/04/2017 19:45

This thread has made me laugh. That's the total cringe thing I usually do.

Good luck tomorrow Cadbury

Let us know if you pass.

Maryhadalittlelambstew · 02/04/2017 19:55

Oh gawd. That's a pretty bad one. Well done for owning it, would have had to be a very elaborate "oh no sorry I meant my english tutor dave who was meant to be doing my spelling test tomorrow..." to cover that up!

Good luck with your test when you do it, hopefully it wont be with him!

purplecoathanger · 02/04/2017 19:57

Good luck OP

ADisappearingDreamOfYesterday · 02/04/2017 19:57

Eek. How many times has he let you down in the past, OP?

If it is a repeated issue I wouldn't feel too bad, but as someone up thread says it is a touch of hyperbole, you've really been quite rude to someone who presumably you have a professional relationship with normally?

I hope you pass tomorrow anyway!

selavy · 02/04/2017 20:00

Good luck! 🍀

Wafflenose · 02/04/2017 20:05

I'm pleased you found another instructor and are able to take your test tomorrow. Good luck!

Your tale did make me laugh a bit, and also the song that a PP posted.

I had two driving instructors. One was called Dave and he was crap (probably long retired now) and the other was called Bill. Bill was fab.

Dontjudgeme1 · 02/04/2017 20:05

Good luck for tomorrow.

Good luck for tomorrow!

ChrisYoungFuckingRocks · 02/04/2017 20:32

Glad you found someone else! Good luck for tomorrow.

I had a chuckle at your text, and I don't think it was too harsh, if he had a history of letting you down. And even if he was ill - all he had to do is drive his car to the test center and let you use it. He didn't even have to pick you up if he was worried about you catching whatever, you could've made your own way there.

Hissy · 02/04/2017 20:35

Oh well done! All the very best for tomorrow

I cringed for you, but it sounds like Dave had it coming.

And yes, he absolutely should pay for the cost of your instruction tomorrow

Dumbo412 · 02/04/2017 20:40

OP, Is your instructors name really Dave? If so, I'd bet money on him being my instructor!

OverlyYappy · 02/04/2017 20:45

Best of luck for tomorrow, glad it's worked out for you.

MyGastIsFlabbered · 02/04/2017 21:53

Good luck for tomorrow OP.

On a slightly related note, I had to stop lessons with one (very hot) driving instructor after we were out on a lesson and I looked down and noticed my top had completely undone. We were talking at the time, I suddenly noticed, gasped and not very subtly did my top up. He looked out of the car window and I could see his shoulders shaking as he tried not to laugh.

Ok it wasn't the only reason I stopped lessons with him but it was quite embarrassing to my 21 year old self Blush

theothercatpurred · 02/04/2017 22:02

Well done for finding a car, you rock!

Keeping everything crossed for you for the morning.

Sallyswot1 · 02/04/2017 22:22

I once sent a text to my daughter telling her I loved her as we had argued on the school run that morning. I then realised I had sent it to a male colleague!!
It was rapidly followed by
'That was meant for ds'
And then by
'You're a great colleague but I wouldn't go that far!'
I sent it when I happened to be on my way to a meeting that the male colleague was also attending. Much piss was taken😱😂

BlueFolly · 02/04/2017 22:44

I have paid for a service and you need to deliver

That sounds like something Trump would say.

Good luck OP!

SatsumasAndFrazzles · 02/04/2017 22:53

Happened upon this this evening.

Oh hell. Sent text to wrong person.
SatsumasAndFrazzles · 02/04/2017 22:54

It's true, all driving instructors are called Dave.

NoBetterName · 02/04/2017 23:31

Exactly, BlueFolly

Good luck OP

Crowdblundering · 02/04/2017 23:34

My ex husband is a driving instructor - he's not called Dave Grin

MrsChopper · 02/04/2017 23:36

Fingers crossed for tomorrow!
