Or at least tell me if it's just me that when I look at the baby names boards and I'd say a good number of names I've never heard of and TBH I find some strange and wonder if it's a wind up? So I'm wondering if it's just me perhaps in my own little boring bubble?

I taught a Maximilian (Max) a few years ago, which I always thought was a nice twist on a fairly common name. Mostly it's either just "Max" or "Maxwell" but I've never known a Maximilian before or since.

My DS age 2 is Theodore Rafael George. Theo for short. Our nct group babies were Theodore, Millie, Lucy, Bonnie, Zak, Harry, Rupert, and Emelia. They have since been joined by Alfie, Woodville (Woody) and Ben. His other friends include Cameron, Archie, Emily, Freddie, Ruby, Isla and his cousins are Jasper, Arran, Miles and Daniel.

Our children have old testatment names which never date and my siblings and I have the names of English monarchs again which tend not to date. Good choices all round.

Chrystal1982 · 01/04/2017 19:28

My eldest DS (16) name hasn't come up yet although it became rather popular a year or so after he was born. DS2 (14) name has come up quite a lot but he knows no other in his school, so another one that has gained favour more recently. DS3 name has always been very popular, I've always tried to avoid top 50 names but it just stuck. DS4 (11) name is the only one I know of around here but certainly not 'unusual'. My 8 week old DS name hasn't come up either but I'm not surprised as we decided to give him a Welsh name.
My name hasn't been mentioned, I think it's rather old and dated. Having moved to and attended a secondary school in Wales my peer group was full of Teleri, Catrin, Dai, Dafydd and Geraint, not at all unusual names here but would be rather uncommon elsewhere

Should note I come from a lower working class background and now live a rather middle class life hence the difference in some styles!

Rowgtfc72 · 01/04/2017 20:05

I'm the only Rowena that I know. My brother is the only Darrell that I know. Definitely not obvious names for children I hung around withGrin

tinypop4 · 01/04/2017 20:17

Babies that I know since having children, and names of children dd has been to nursery and pre school with:
Elliot (lots recently)
Alfie
Archie
Sonny (lots)
Sophie (lots)
Isla
Poppy
Lily
Hannah
Emily
Xanthe

There are also a few names that I would consider ridiculous in her pre school class although I think it might be a bit identifying to say them.

MichaelaJane · 01/04/2017 20:34

Throwaway name just for this.

Off the top of my head. These are mine and friends DC. Some more unusual ones at preschool including a Xanthe. Obviously a bit boring around here 😆

ATailofTwoKitties · 02/04/2017 00:04

I shall now think of Enormous Tiger and siblings as being called Mary, Henry and Ethelred.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 02/04/2017 00:19

I know two Islas, and three Ellas, but no other children with the same name.

All under three:
Ben
Sophie
Ethan
Grace
Robert
Isabelle
James
Alice

Pretty classic and dull around here!
