Or at least tell me if it's just me that when I look at the baby names boards and I'd say a good number of names I've never heard of and TBH I find some strange and wonder if it's a wind up? So I'm wondering if it's just me perhaps in my own little boring bubble?

If I was to post a list of names of the girls I was at school with in the early 80s, it would be way more diverse and unique than any classroom now, which tend to be inundated with Chloes, Evies, Islas, Matildas, Rubies, Lilys, Emilys, Sophias and other run of the mill names...

BeeFarseer · 31/03/2017 09:48

When I was young, my peers were all Sarahs, Claires, Amandas and Rachels. My own name wasn't popular then but became so around 10 years ago.

I only know of two people with DD's name - one a reporter and one a politician.

Nc12309456 · 31/03/2017 10:27

NC obviously! My name is Leanne, I have never met anyone born outside of the 80's with this name. Even my middle name is so 80's it's unlikely anyone would give it to a child nowadays.

TheDowagerCuntess · 31/03/2017 10:49

Sorry, just testing there. Really surprised to see so many Eilidhs on lists here! I was the only Eilidh in my massive high school and I've only ever worked with one other. Think the Scottish names are really back though, I know loads of Calums now and Ruaridh is really popular around here.
