To think I'm not a 'greedy pig' for eating this?

Been running about all day at work. I had an apple for breakfast and a small sandwich for lunch (at about 12!). Just got in and made myself a couple of toasties- two slices of milk roll and a small amount of cheese so in total I had four slices of milk roll and maybe a handful of grated cheese.

I'd just sat down to eat when my neighbour popped in to drop of a package for me. She saw what I was eating and said 'Oh I'd feel like a greedy pig if I ate that much.' The way she said it made it clear she wasn't talking about herself but was judging me.

I've had my issues with food in the past and now I'm wondering- am I a greedy pig? I've had a long, stressful day and I just wanted something quick to eat before I keeled over!

Am I being unreasonable what what I've had for tea or is she just a goady fucker?!

First meal - an apple
second meal - small sandwich
third meal - this
snack - chocolate

therw is huge health crisis

Well you have no way of knowing from the OP's posts if she is part of this or not. However, she has said she had issues with food in the past, so lecturing her on her calorie intake now seems insensitive at best.

and she was making out her "snack" was nothing big maybe she didn't realise how huge the calorie intake it was

She describes it as her "tea". She might mean her main evening meal, in which case it's not a balanced diet but it's by no means calorific. Also yes, read the thread, or at least the first post. 500 calories maybe a big snack but in the context of an apple for breakfast and a small sandwich for lunch it's not an issue. It still leaves her with about 800 calories for her main evening meal.

StealthPolarBear · 01/04/2017 14:22

Which bit do you think is wrong

user1491049702 · 01/04/2017 14:25

Your missing my point neighbor was right it was a huge snack and I have said as long as it fits in her daily total calories it's OK, Some people would not realise how much calories her "small snack" was also as OP thinks it's small makes me think the same.

StealthPolarBear · 01/04/2017 14:27

I'm not missing your point. Your point is that the op had it after her evening meal. I'm saying you are wrong.

StealthPolarBear · 01/04/2017 14:28

Did the op herself say it was a small snack? Where?

TheWoodlander · 01/04/2017 14:30

User - It was her evening meal - not a snack.

user1491049702 · 01/04/2017 14:31

And I am just telling her she should count her calories as should everyone, myfitnesspal lets you do this easily, with the phone app you can even can the barcode and it gets all the info for you.

Her neighbour was just looking out for her, it was a nicer way of telling her her health was slipping and she was getting fat.

StealthPolarBear · 01/04/2017 14:32

You think everyone should count calories?

StealthPolarBear · 01/04/2017 14:33

Do you accept this was her evening meal at least?

user1491049702 · 01/04/2017 14:36

Maybe it was but she has put on weight it's easy for us to see, maybe she hasn't noticed it yet. I am not happy about her talking about me on here but she has put on some weight and the snack was huge so I was trying to be helpful.

StealthPolarBear · 01/04/2017 14:38

Oh ffs.

StealthPolarBear · 01/04/2017 14:38

You sound incredibly stupid.

ImportSave · 01/04/2017 14:39

user1491049702, I'm Northern. Tea is the last meal in the day. On the day I posted this, I'd had an apple, a small ham sandwich, the cheese toasties and about five squares of chocolate. I don't need to watch my calorie intake, thank you very much. I find it incredibly rude of you to come on this thread and start telling me what I should do. I have a fitbit, and I average about 17000 steps a day. I'm not getting fat and even I was, it's not for you or anyone else to comment on.

I was just going to ask if User was the neighbour. That's really spiteful, User, one way or another.

OP, I would hide this thread if I were you.

TheWoodlander · 01/04/2017 14:40

User, are you saying you're the neighbour?? Confused

Haha - keep your thoughts to yourself neighbour. if that really is you....

MN has declared YABU & rude.

StealthPolarBear · 01/04/2017 14:41

Op jut to check you've picked up on the fact this poster is implying they are your neighbour.she does sound equally as lacking in manners and there's clearly a comprehension issue

ImportSave · 01/04/2017 14:42

I'm sorry, but what the fuck?! I feel like you're spying on me now!!!!

ImportSave · 01/04/2017 14:43

Hang on, my neighbor is in. I'm going knocking!

Also user you can fuck right off. I've lost weight in the past month, not put it on!

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 01/04/2017 14:44

Suspect this is a load of crap tbh

picklemepopcorn · 01/04/2017 14:44

Neighbour is that you? I'm glad you are here. You need to apologise for criticising your neighbour's eating habits when you know nothing about her overall intake or activity levels and when it is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!

ImportSave · 01/04/2017 14:49

Okay, I'm back. user1491049702 IS NOT MY NEIGHBOR. I'm not sure what this poster is trying to do but I'm thoroughly creeped out by their posts. UGH.

OP posts:
champagneplanet · 01/04/2017 14:53

You're not a greedy pig, she's just a goady fucker. I hate people who comment on other peoples food!

Fellow milk roll lover here, obviously I buy it for DD but I never ever have any Wink it's lovely toasted with beans on

hippyhippyshake · 01/04/2017 14:54

Why do we let people's comments get to us? My response would be 'Would you? Crikey...' and carry on eating. Sometimes people say things with just conversational intentions in mind but it comes across as a criticism. It's better for your self-esteem to assume the former.

ImportSave · 01/04/2017 15:00

I was a dancer in my teens and was heavily criticized for my weight and what I'd eat. I had a brush with anorexia then went the other way and started binge eating. I'm finally getting back to a happy medium but comments like these still really get to me.
