To think I'm not a 'greedy pig' for eating this?

Been running about all day at work. I had an apple for breakfast and a small sandwich for lunch (at about 12!). Just got in and made myself a couple of toasties- two slices of milk roll and a small amount of cheese so in total I had four slices of milk roll and maybe a handful of grated cheese.

I'd just sat down to eat when my neighbour popped in to drop of a package for me. She saw what I was eating and said 'Oh I'd feel like a greedy pig if I ate that much.' The way she said it made it clear she wasn't talking about herself but was judging me.

I've had my issues with food in the past and now I'm wondering- am I a greedy pig? I've had a long, stressful day and I just wanted something quick to eat before I keeled over!

Am I being unreasonable what what I've had for tea or is she just a goady fucker?!

I didn't realise you could still get milk roll. My nan always used to give it to us when we were kids. I'm going to add some to my online shop.

You were not a greedy pig, OP.

Blackbird82 · 30/03/2017 21:16

No idea what milk roll is but your neighbour sounds like a rude cunt.

Enjoy your chocolate!

liz70 · 30/03/2017 21:18

I like to think that I'd reply with something like, "And if I said that, I'd feel like a right bitchy, rude cow. "

But in truth, I'd probably be stunned into silence.

SaltySeaBird · 30/03/2017 21:25

My DD has been making me buy milk roll recently because she likes the cow on it (she is 4). I've been buying it a few months and just realised I've never even tried it as in my mind it was children's bread (and In trying not to eat bread during the week, just at weekends when I scoff fresh crusty bread).

timeforabrewnow · 30/03/2017 21:25

Thanks for the heads up on milk roll - it sounds yummy, and I'm going to get some for lunches.

Your neighbour is very rude indeed - off the Xmas card list!

SaltySeaBird · 30/03/2017 21:26

I might go an toast a slice for research purposes.

I'd be annoyed by your neighbour I hate it when people comment on other people's food

Goodasgoldilox · 30/03/2017 21:26

Enjoy the toasties - and do generously sympathise with your poor neighbour and her problems with food.

QuestionableMouse · 30/03/2017 21:30

She's a joy sucker. Enjoy your chocolate.

lanbro · 30/03/2017 21:30

Milk roll is tiny, I would have had 6 slices with thickly sliced cheese! FWIW I've had cheese sandwiches made with cheese bread, 2 granola bars, a frozen pizza, a chocolate roll and some milk tray today, I'm a size 10!

BuggersMuddle · 30/03/2017 21:32

Cheeky as fuck. I'm small, but when work goes as it sometimes does, I can have a smoothie in the morning, snacks (but no proper lunch) and then put away more than my 6' DP at dinner. Also 4 slices of milk roll is bugger all - it's tiny and thin.

You have however reminded me of milk roll. Milk roll and nutella was always a favourite as a teen....

PickAChew · 30/03/2017 21:33

You're not a greedy pig ) no idea how you'd keep going all day on so little food, tbh) but your neighbour is an interfering ass.

Ginkypig · 30/03/2017 21:34

Having worked out what milkroll is Iv concluded you've not even had two toasties it probably works out 1 and a 1/2 max.

So you have eaten today

An apple

A small sandwich

1 1/2 toasties

That's it, that's all you've had all day! She can fuck right off!

Deadsouls · 30/03/2017 21:36

Just as well your neighbour isn't eating it then

TheWoodlander · 30/03/2017 21:40

Yanbu. And I want to try milk roll now, I've never heard of it either!

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 30/03/2017 21:40

I wouldn't eat it, however.

You didn't eat a lot today... And anyhow, it's not your neighbour's business anyway. That was really rude.

QuestionableMouse · 30/03/2017 21:42

Milk roll is best eaten with tomato soup whole you're feeling under the weather.

NameChanger22 · 30/03/2017 21:50

I've eaten at least three times what you've eaten today, including a cinnamon roll, 2 slices of coconut cake and 3 good meals. Oink oink.

I've never eaten milk roll but it looks like something yummy. It's already on my next shopping list.

SecretNutellaFix · 30/03/2017 21:51

She's a Dementor. Ignore her. You've barely eaten enough to keep a sparrow satisfied.

frieda909 · 30/03/2017 22:08

Oh god I hate women like this. I always seem to encounter women of a certain age who are determined to tell me how little they eat and how they could never eat whatever I'm having.

It's probably nonsense anyway, she just likes to think she's more healthy and virtuous. I once lived with someone who used to go on and on about how little she ate and pull faces any time I ate anything remotely sugary or fatty. Then one day I walked into the kitchen to find her literally eating butter straight from the packet with a knife!

AdoraBell · 30/03/2017 22:09

Is she older? Either way ignore and enjoy your food.

I once ordered in a cafe in Chile, 4 slices, cut on the diagonal so not large, of a baguette with scrambled egg and bacon. Literally 1 slice of bacon between the four pieces of bread. Group of older ladies next to me made much fuss about it being enough for a full day.

allgoodthings84 · 30/03/2017 22:27

Had to google milk roll too. I need some of that!

Meekonsandwich · 30/03/2017 22:42

Good for you !!! I hate that (usually women) believe they can police what other women eat!!!

I was out shopping once and I'm a charity shop and I was eating from a bag of sweets (the only thing I had eaten that day and I was trying to stay distracted by shopping to not feel so bad eating them)
This old crusty bint behind the desk makes a song and dance of telling me "oh you shouldn't eat those!!! You'll never keep your figure."

I was suffering from bulimia at the time.
I was enraged. I wish I had told her that it was absolutely none of her ducking business and when you haven't eaten in 11 days it really doesnt make a difference.

But I got embarrassed and stormed out the shop. Bah. Stupid judgemental woman.

BeaderBird · 31/03/2017 00:06

Milk roll is tiny, weeny bits of bread!

OP, you are being unreasonable for even asking the question in the first place. Go to the naughty step along with the OP of 'Is this a suitable packed lunch for an 8 year old'. She'll be the one sitting there brandishing her wholemeal wraps Grin

tinglyfing · 31/03/2017 00:51

Milk roll?

I can do a full loaf of that.

Neighbour needs to fuck off. She clearly had no understanding of milk roll toasties.

tinglyfing · 31/03/2017 00:52

And it makes really cute looking sandwiches!
