I was at primary school in the early 90s. I don't remember any lunchbox police at all. For years I took in coleslaw sandwiches (I can't stand coleslaw now), a flask of orange squash, a packet of crisps and a kitkat.

Two slices of white bread with fish or meat past and a Penguin biscuit. No drink, i had water at school. (mid to late 80s).

WhatHaveIFound · 30/03/2017 14:27

*paste

Tobuyornot99 · 30/03/2017 14:28

Paste or spam sandwiches, a penguin or club biscuit, a banana that I put in the bin Blush late 80s.

itsbetterthanabox · 30/03/2017 14:28

.A peanut butter or cheese and pickle sandwich on granary
.Cheese and onion crisps
.Carrot and cucumber sticks
.A satsuma
.An apple
.Bottle of water

Sometimes as a treat I'd have cold oven pizza instead of the sandwich. I loved that!

RegTheMonkey1 · 30/03/2017 14:28

Didn't have one. I had school dinners in the canteen.

Melawen · 30/03/2017 14:29

Marmite sandwiches, crisps, and a penguin probably! With squash in a flask.

itsbetterthanabox · 30/03/2017 14:29

I was mid/late 90s.

IndianaMoleWoman · 30/03/2017 14:30

Paste or ham sandwich, carton of drink, Kit Kat or Penguin bar (or a mint viscount if I was especially lucky), packet of crisps, an apple. Late 80s to mid-90s.

watchoutformybutt · 30/03/2017 14:30

Sandwich or cheese and crackers, yogurt, fruit and a penguin. Crisps very rarely. That was in the 90's

armpitz · 30/03/2017 14:30

Ham sandwich
Squash
Banana or apple
Crisps
Biscuit

BigGreenOlives · 30/03/2017 14:30

1970s White bread with jam, lemon curd or marmite. Club biscuit or sometimes a viscount biscuit. I was quite skinny!

AtleastitsnotMonday · 30/03/2017 14:31

Early 90's cheese and pickle or cheese and coleslaw sandwich, petit filous, Apple or grapes then either harvest bar, trio, cartoonies or club biscuit. Occasionally either a packet of mini cheddars or packet of hula hoops.

Groovee · 30/03/2017 14:31

A roll or sandwich with ham or cheese. A packet of crisps and a chocolate. Occasionally a yoghurt. Never fruit. I barely remember us having fruit in the house. My gran supplied me with lots of fruit.

BarbarianMum · 30/03/2017 14:32

Sandwich on brown bread, piece of fruit, one other thing (crisps/a biscuit/piece of cake). Water to drink. Early 80s.

LittlePigLittlePigLetMeIn · 30/03/2017 14:33

A peanut butter or sandwich spread sandwich.
A yogurt with the foil lid that you had to break with a spoon or pull it open and risk it squirting.

A mint viscount chocolate biscuit or penguin.

An apple.

All in an old ice cream tub.

This was 1970's when bringing a packed lunch was a new idea.

carteblah · 30/03/2017 14:33

Cheese/marmite sandwich, a packet of crisps, chocolate bar, satsuma or grapes. Can't remember what else- stuff like cheesestrings maybe? And we were only allowed water.

blubberball · 30/03/2017 14:34

A lot of these items wouldn't be acceptable in some schools now would they?

OP posts:
carteblah · 30/03/2017 14:35

That was in the early late 90s sorry

MrsBungle · 30/03/2017 14:35

White bread sandwich with tuna made with salad cream. A packet of crisps and a wrapped biscuit such as a penguin. Maybe a piece of fruit too. This was mid-80s.

Sparklingbrook · 30/03/2017 14:35

Ham or cheese sandwich on white.
Packet of crisps.
Penguin/Taxi/Blue Riband/Trio
Squash in a flask

(70s/80s)

MsTea · 30/03/2017 14:35

Sandwich, yoghurt or mousse, cake and a chocolate bar. A chocolate biscuit for break. I can't remember what I drank, probably squash. Wouldn't be allowed now!

helpmeplease2045 · 30/03/2017 14:36

White bread sandwich with either tuna / cheese and cucumber / peanut butter / ham
Carton of juice
Piece of fruit
Some sort of biscuit (e.g. wagon wheel!) or packet of crisps.
This would not pass the lunchbox police in my son's school today as cartons of juice and biscuit/crisps are banned.

Sunnydaysrock · 30/03/2017 14:37

School early eighties to mid nineties. Always had either a penguin, trio or united. Sandwiches, often with sandwich spread (yuk now), or jam. Sometimes bought my own lunch on way to school as was dropped very early by my mum on her way to work, if so, i used to get those wafer marshmallow sandwich thingsGrin. Also a yogurt, and squash in the flask that would have matched my ET/my little pony/Goofy lunch box...It always leaked.

helpmeplease2045 · 30/03/2017 14:37

This was early to mid 90s :)

TheRealPooTroll · 30/03/2017 14:37

Cheese/marmite/paste sandwich, crisps, banana, 2 mini cans of pop (no idea why not 1 normal size one) and a penguin.
