Following the shocking news from London, where is the Leader of the U.K and what is her response to this?

OP posts:
Withershins · 22/03/2017 18:22

As a someone who has family members currently in London, I would rather she spend her time co-coordinating a plan to ensure the safety of all those still in the area, and leading the security services in her role as PM, as apposed to issuing handwringing statements.

Greatwhiteworld · 22/03/2017 18:23

She was whisked away in her mobile oppression palace.

I expect a statement after the COBRA meeting

Withershins · 22/03/2017 18:23

*opposed Blush

frumpet · 22/03/2017 18:23

I would imagine as the PM she is being fully briefed on what has happened. Or would you rather she just spout a load of twaddle on social media ?

MichaelSheensNextDW · 22/03/2017 18:24

Why do some posters think it's ok to write such vitriolic, belittling shite? Is this the Daily Mail comments section?

"Ah, millenials.... She's running the country while the security services co ordinate a response and try to minimise casualties. Soshul meeja and statements to the public can wait."

"She's at work but I'm sure if you ask nicely she can pop out and hold your hand for a bit.
Ffs."

"Listen to the fucking news"

doublesnap · 22/03/2017 18:24

The police statements are enough, TM is doing what she should be doing and chairing Cobra meetings etc; she doesn't need to waste time talking to the media. Is what she had to say really going to make anybody feel better in what is a truly shit situation? She can't say anything to change it.

Normally I'd welcome the chance to criticise her but now isn't the time or the place.

GinAndTunic · 22/03/2017 18:26

Just heard...she has spoken to Donald Trump.

Umm, considering that he is the president of the United States, this is entirely normal protocol.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 22/03/2017 18:29

It's ok. Donald has been informed and he's spoken to Theresa. It's all fine!

Or she has informed him that some of his nationals have been injured.

Now is not the time for political point scoring imo.

rumblingDMexploitingbstds · 22/03/2017 18:30

A speech from the heart, and hip, would be appropriate from May, No?

No. I want her focused on her job and doing it during a national emergency, not wasting time emoting to the cameras. She's the prime minister, not Ant and Dec.

onceandneveragain · 22/03/2017 18:30

specialsubject - what???? Why on earth do you assume that OP is a millennial, and then use that as an insult?

BarbarianMum · 22/03/2017 18:31

Yeah OP maybe she could tweet something? Anything really, no need to wait for a clear picture to emerge. Hmm

CaroleService · 22/03/2017 18:31

'As a someone who has family members currently in London, I would rather she spend her time co-coordinating a plan to ensure the safety of all those still in the area, and leading the security services in her role as PM, as apposed to issuing handwringing statements.'

As someone who has two family members currently locked down in the H of C while it is searched and sanitised, me too.

CoolCarrie · 22/03/2017 18:32

People have made harsh comments to the op, including myself, are probably doing so because we are angry and shocked that people have been killed by vile murderous thugs, and think that the PM has got more important things to do than speak to us at the moment simple, and can't quite believe that anyone would expect any PM saying anything now.

Madbengalmum · 22/03/2017 18:33

OP, I suspect, as she should be, she is otherwise engaged!
What a ridiculous thing to say.

Bibs2014 · 22/03/2017 18:33

I'm sorry but this made me giggle 'No. I want her focused on her job and doing it during a national emergency, not wasting time emoting to the cameras. She's the prime minister, not Ant and Dec'

user0000000001 · 22/03/2017 18:33

Oh yes, the perfect time for a bash the PM thread. Im sure that after the death of an innocent woman and a policeman she really should be making a statement for those who need childcare. Your op makes you look and sound like an utter cock.
Hth

This.

Exactly this.

MichaelSheensNextDW · 22/03/2017 18:35

The OP hasn't bashed the PM. S/he asked a question.

Madbengalmum · 22/03/2017 18:36

The OP has asked a stupid question, with a bloody obvious answer!

BalloonSlayer · 22/03/2017 18:37

I thought the COBRA meeting wasn't till later on this evening

Also thought she should have released a one-line statement.

The language used by the BBC, she was "bundled" into a car, and "whisked away" made her seem rather passive and vulnerable.

SoupDragon · 22/03/2017 18:37

The OP hasn't bashed the PM. S/he asked a question.

Yeah, of course she did. 🙄

TheOldLandmark · 22/03/2017 18:38

I'm not sitting here watching the news in a state of thigh rubbing ecstasy at the deaths of people and serious injuries of others. I am deeply saddened that people lost their lives today and many more have (life threatening) injuries. I did not wake up this morning thinking my life could be so affected by the death/injury of a close family member.

I postulated that TM could make some statement within a reasonable time period that may support those affected by an event that, following on from (shorthand) 9/11, and 7/11, will impact hugely on almost 9 million people.

I want to hear from the leader of the UK following an attack at Westminster.

OP posts:
PigletWasPoohsFriend · 22/03/2017 18:38

There you go OP the Home Secretary is currently giving a statement. Hope that satisfy you.

MichaelSheensNextDW · 22/03/2017 18:39

TheOldLandmark Unfortunately some posters are determined to be a bunch of bastards. Disappointing.

JustAnotherSilentOldNumber · 22/03/2017 18:39

I want to hear from the leader of the UK following an attack at Westminster.

Wouldn't you rather hear from your loved ones?

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 22/03/2017 18:40

I want to hear from the leader of the UK following an attack at Westminster.

You will only time!

Her first priority is to the safety of the country at the moment!
