Following the shocking news from London, where is the Leader of the U.K and what is her response to this?

OP posts:
bignamechangeroonie · 22/03/2017 18:11

I don't want to hear from her at all.

Much prefer hearing from the police thanks.

CoolCarrie · 22/03/2017 18:11

She is doing her job, that's what she is doing. Listening to the information she needs to know to make a fucking statement! Listen to the fucking news

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 22/03/2017 18:11

Not reassuring that she's Been in contact with Trump though.

We don't know the nationalities of those injured. The French Priminister has also been informed.

PlayOnWurtz · 22/03/2017 18:11

She listens to those specialists and has the final say going forwards. This is a very serious incident and decisions cannot not should be rushed. She's a thinker anyway so I can't see a statement before 8pm at the earliest from her.

mpsw · 22/03/2017 18:12

It sounds like she did what she was told, and cooperated with being bundled out and ten to an (undisclosed) place of safety. That was at the time when the searches of the HofP had not been completed. No word in whether any other key figures were exfiltrated whilst the threat was still being assessed and dealt with (though many were directed to wait in safety in Westminster Hall whilst the rest of the building was searched.

People are beginning to leave HofP now.

Best guess is that the Prime Minister is in Downing Street or Cabinet Office and chairing COBRA (now or imminently). The immediate incident response takes priority over press briefing, though it would be normal for a statement to be made once initial flurry of action slows.

Obsidian77 · 22/03/2017 18:12

She's at work but I'm sure if you ask nicely she can pop out and hold your hand for a bit.
Ffs.

PlayOnWurtz · 22/03/2017 18:12

I prefer how this is being handled. I'm liking the met statements.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 22/03/2017 18:12

As for the cobra meeting, a lot of nodding and agreeing with whatever the national security and armed forces recommend - hardly any PM's speciality.

How about when you are on a hole stop digging and maybe think before posting!

GrimDamnFanjo · 22/03/2017 18:13

TheOldKandmark do you actually know what happens in a COBRA meeting?

UnmentionedElephantDildo · 22/03/2017 18:13

As for the cobra meeting, a lot of nodding and agreeing with whatever the national security and armed forces recommend - hardly any PM's speciality.

Are you speaking from experience?

CoolCarrie · 22/03/2017 18:13

We will get a statement in time op, she is probably in shock as well.

tinglyfing · 22/03/2017 18:13

Statements from police were very quick off the mark. That's enough. TM can't just do as she pleases you know!
Anyway. What everyone else said. She's where she should be.

nancy75 · 22/03/2017 18:14

Piglet makes a very good point, most of the people outside parliament at that time of day are tourists

ClarkWGriswold · 22/03/2017 18:14

She's getting ready to Chair a COBRA meeting!

I guess Sadiq is just thinking this is something we should get used to...

eddiemairswife · 22/03/2017 18:14

What would satisfy you? The PM on TV weeping and saying how awful it was? Perhaps you'd prefer the Queen to pop her coat on and come out to mingle with 'her people'.

Beachedwh4le · 22/03/2017 18:15

Stop being ridiculous OP, as everyone else has said, she's doing her job, I also think it's highly probable that The Donald has imagined a conversation with her about it, though presumably it's standard procedure to inform allies of a terror attack.

tinglyfing · 22/03/2017 18:15

Sorry, but how the fuck would you know what goes on in a cobra meeting op?

mpsw · 22/03/2017 18:16

FCO will be dealing with briefing foreign governments.

MontePulciana · 22/03/2017 18:16

Looking for reassurance? Do you remember 9/11? Who gives reassurance 3 hours after a terrorist attack in a world city? Jesus!

CountessOfStrathearn · 22/03/2017 18:17

This is the same sort of attitude that got people baying for The Queen's blood when she had 'abandoned her people' in London, rather than staying with her grieving young grandchildren in Balmoral. Hmm

The Met are doing a great job of updating people on an evolving situation.

CaroleService · 22/03/2017 18:17

She may have spoken to the French PM because a group of French schoolkids was in the H of C at the time.

I don't see that she needs to speak to anyone except COBRA delegates and security service professionals until she knows as much as can be known in the short term

With the possible exception of that poor policeman's family.

jaws5 · 22/03/2017 18:18

It's ok. Donald has been informed and he's spoken to Theresa. It's all fine!

RhubarbGin · 22/03/2017 18:21

With luck if she's spoken to Fart features, she's told him to keep his stupid mouth shut and not tweet 'alternative facts'.

derxa · 22/03/2017 18:21

I prefer how this is being handled. I'm liking the met statements. Yes very professional.
OP I'm also about 400 miles from London and looking at sheep fields. Just thank your lucky stars that's where you are.

RachelRagged · 22/03/2017 18:22

Not a fan of TM but she's dammed if she does and dammed if she don't. Personally I'm glad a COBRA meeting is top priority
